I actually like tartare sauce with beef, a strange combination but it brings out the flavour of the beef. I also like mayonnaise with peas.

Farm Foods used to be behind the bus station in the 90s.
Looked great meal loved farm foods we haven't got a farm foods in our part of cumbria.

I have to have gravy with this. To food experts this is sacrilege but I adore gravy on every cooked meat I eat.
For the price that looked like a very nice meal,and the steak was cooked perfectly,very impressive.It’s strange how different things can be from one country to another,I see peas on most restaurant plates in the UK,but not here in the States,here it’s broccoli,green beans,or zucchini ( courgettes) in more expensive restaurants it’s asparagus.I see people in the comments asking where the peas are if the meal comes without.
What a lovely pub and the meal was great value. The steak looked decent quality as rump can be a bit tough. Not sure about peas and mayo though! Hope you managed to get the lamb pies in Iceland.

You must try some cask ales, they have loads more flavour than the bog std lagers like Fosters, Carlsburg etc., i.e. the hoppy golden ales As for rating the food, I would say 8.5 at best. Are you not a mustard or horseradish man. It brings out the taste of the beef.

I've had the pie and mash before in the HoS. Its OK when they cook it properly, but they often overcook it.
That usually depends on when you get there, how long it's been kept for.

Love a chargrilled steak . Best I had was at a brewers fayre on valentines £14 3 coarse . This year its £17.99 3 course . There's a mixed grill in it . Its not to be knocked at this price. We went to an Italian at the weekend £25 for steak chips and a sauce no veg in site left half as it got cold as the sauce came 5 mins after .
That reminds me. Show me how to cook a steak in that air fryer. That tower one.
Hello Deano, yes gloves are in order at this time of year. Nice to see you escaping that tiny kitchen of yours, if only for a day... Ok right, first off Rump steak is the lowest choice of steak, a quality steak begins at Sirloin and above that is Ribeye after that it gets really expensive. Why are you drinking Fosters? I mean that is the Lager that nobody in Australia wants to drink if they had a choice. In mid May I recommend you go to Bulgaria, Veliko Tanovo for a holiday, it should be about 24C then there, it's a really nice historical city and the cheapest place cost of living wise in the EU, give it a go instead of Spain.
I think we a know what sort of steak we will get by the price, and I thought it was well priced and would have chosen it.

chips looked frozen i wont pay for frozen chips if eating out we need a campaign for real chips in eateries,steak was to rare for me id call that still alive give me a burnt steak anyday

Fosters get some real ale down the neck. Steak did look nice looked better than a wetherspoons one.

As a Mancunian I’d never been to Huddersfield before and around 6 years ago I came here for a date and stayed in the hotel next door to the Yorkshire Rose. Very first pub I went in when I arrived and it’s a lovely place and the foods great too. Great video 👍🏽
