We are a bit stuck up when it comes to work and bureaucracy, which is always part of our lifes because the society demands us to be very serious about it ... and sometimes we really have a hard time to make the transition from working behavior to free time behavior. But alcohol surely helps :p

My grandma is straight over from Germany and her sense of humor just got better with age (and strokes). How many Germans does it take to change a lightbulb? One. We are perfectly efficient and have no sense of humor.
as a metalhead, i'm convinced there's 2 kinds of germans. sober and drunk. sober is reserved, aloof, and no nonsense. very dependable, if dry. drunk ones will be your best friend in 30 seconds and get you in the same state as they are frighteningly quickly. german efficiency. source: wacken open air, and hellfest, both times they were my tent neighbors. awesome awesome guys
I was looking for someone mentioning this! They should have evened the steak's thickness, it was waaaaaay off the temp mark. Everyone was too nice and polite to mention it though, which is kinda sweet :3
I love when the food challenge hosts have good spirits. I feel too often in these types of videos they have these challenges as an FU and when the pro shows up to conquer they have so much resentment. This guy on the other hand gets it
It would take at least 2 hours in a fairly low oven (maybe 250-ish F) to have any hope of being well-done throughout center half without the edges being leather.
@@mrtalos Exactly, but they didn't want him to sit there for several hours just to wait for his steak to be done. :'D It could have been much better, if he was to tell them to be done with it before he gets there, and show off another raw piece of steak of the same size for the video. Maybe he could have pay for the steak beforehand to make it sure he isn't trying to scam them or anything, and get his money back when he has eaten all of it.
40 years ago I did an 80 oz steak challenge. I finished with 30 seconds left and it had a huge baked potato with salad and a roll. I didn't feel well for 24 hours. 2nd hardest food eating challenge I ever did. You did that in under 42 minutes... incredible...

You will eat less than if you had something during the day. Now for our beloved Adam, I don't really know how he trains or does it for those weekly (if not not almost everyday challenges). It's almost impossible to cook a steak that large to well done without burning the crap out of it, or using a sous vide/oven to handle the actual cooking of it

just to be a nerd... in some cultures leaving the plate empty signals the host they did not serve enough food, so it is often a custom to leave some on the plate to signal that it was enough food, and you feel full. Mainly Asia and Japan
You should do a reunion tour. ❤❤❤ like at some point you dedicate a years worth of travel to visit all the places you once went to. Just to do the challenges again and to see if anyone is still at these places that you have met before.

As a typical Brit, my first reaction was to call that guy a bit of a “character” but then i realised i should be less of a knob and just take him for what he was, a really nice, friendly, cheerful guy who wanted to make Adams visit as good as possible.

The edges were.. the steak wasn’t cut evenly so there was no way to get it well done without the ends being charcoal
