Evening all! You can count on one Englishman to provide some actual entertainment this Sunday…
We’re back in Germany with the lads for tonight’s episode, taking on a steak challenge which has only been beaten twice in seven whole years!
I hope you enjoy it…but if you don’t…worry not…the crew won’t be back for the next month or so. Next week I’m in Iceland with Sister Beard in tow…so I hope I’ll see you then!
Big cuddles, BMF :)
JUDEEEEE
Is that Englishman Jude Bellingham? 😂
Evening mate ❤
The fact that the other person who beat it was Slovakian is too poetic

That man is SOOO sweet!!!! You don't need a crowded restaurant, just have that guy cheer you on 🥰🥳
Dort forget the Dog 😂
he's the exception for germans :D
@@dabootvv When i was there in 79 through 81 they were all nice like that, sad to hear it's changed.
I’ve spent many times visiting Germany and I’ve always found the people to be friendly and helpful.
@@cavalierheavenI've had the same experience when I went, the Germans were very nice. Though I heard they were quite rude in the 40's.
That has to be one of the nicest owners ever! Cheers Mr Beard

When someone stands there staring at you and have few words is in fact creepy.
Sad that the restaurant was empty. I hope it was only because of the odd hour you visited, as this man deserves more customers.
Given that they've had the challenge for seven years, I'll bet it's just the odd hour.
I bet it’s on Google maps and is permanently closed with lots of negative reviews
@@charlescole7532 keep betting LOSER!!!!!!!!!
Well, you know why? Most Salaries in Germany are a joke these days, and nobody can afford to go out like that anymore, especially for a Steak that costs 75 Bucks.
@@charlescole7532 I don't understand, I just checked and yep, permanently closed. How and why they did this segment if they are permanently closed is the real question.
The guy that served Adam seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
it's scientifically proven that friendly, nice staff make huge steaks taste better.
What a nice guy... That German running the restaurant was fantastic. I hope this video gets him and his business a lot of love...
Germans are historically reknown for their friendliness and manners.
well, they are out of business now...

Nice guy because he expected him to lose the challenge and get his money 💰!!

Do not believe the stereotypes, many of us Germans are like this :D
Beard said he wants it ‘well done’
The chef said Nein! 😂
I was just thinking with a steak like that you have to reverse sear it to get anything near the center over rare.
@@Laugh1ngboy honestly reverse sear is the best way to do a steak anyway ;)
@@SkyForceOne2 Well yeah. Just looks like they did it on a gas grill though. I'm impressed that the center wasn't raw.
I think they did him a bit of a favor because the outside, I’m thinking, would have been bricked
Well done is a temperature and not an appearance.
The charm of that man is exactly what you want to see in supporting the hospitality industry. Bring back the charm and not the production

That could be the happiest man on the face of the earth. He's adorable.
I agree. The gentleman definitely goes against that typical German stereotype.
Yes! He was so adorable.😊
@@nathanmerritt1581 After a few schnapps most Germans are pretty affable.
@@chele-chele It also depends on circumstances. We like to do business seriously and without much fuss but in relaxed environments Germans are usually pretty open and chill.
That steak was so fucking rare in the middle that's a challenge in itself.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this series, different class of people and this guy just is the icing on the cake... kudos to the German people and kudos to you for showing us the world in food terms
‘I have the second piece on the grill.’
And people say Germans have no sense of humour! 😂
Genuine lol.
My grandma is straight over from Germany and her sense of humor just got better with age (and strokes).
How many Germans does it take to change a lightbulb?
One. We are perfectly efficient and have no sense of humor.
Only Germans say that. :p

😁😇
as a metalhead, i'm convinced there's 2 kinds of germans. sober and drunk. sober is reserved, aloof, and no nonsense. very dependable, if dry. drunk ones will be your best friend in 30 seconds and get you in the same state as they are frighteningly quickly. german efficiency.

Lmao the chef was totally like, "well done? are you crazy!" *sends out medium steak* lmao
It's almost impossible to cook a steak that large to well done without burning the crap out of it, or using a sous vide/oven to handle the actual cooking of it
yeah, if you did this massive thing well done, half of it would turn to coal
I think that’s why he got it well done the steak was so big that if get got it mid rare a lot of it would be raw some parts of it were mid rare
I was to point that out lol
@@kevboardnot if you know what you're doing
I love the owners who genuinely want their challengers to win!
I love the crew videos and the solo videos equally! It’s nice to mix it up a bit 😅
I'm heartened by how positive and supportive the people are in all these places you go.
You were living that little dog’s fantasy… one bite at a time. “If this hairy creature can do it, so can I,” said the little white dog.
That is the rarest well done steak I’ve ever seen. 😂
by the time the center of a steak that big is "well done" to my moms preferred taste the outside would be charcoal LMFAO
First look at that steak and I only had one thought - "chewfest"
@@Thisisnotasignto cook a steak that thick, realistically you have to cook it in the oven and use a probe thermometer.
It would take at least 2 hours in a fairly low oven (maybe 250-ish F) to have any hope of being well-done throughout center half without the edges being leather.
@@mrtalos Exactly, but they didn't want him to sit there for several hours just to wait for his steak to be done. :'D It could have been much better, if he was to tell them to be done with it before he gets there, and show off another raw piece of steak of the same size for the video. Maybe he could have pay for the steak beforehand to make it sure he isn't trying to scam them or anything, and get his money back when he has eaten all of it.
Nice guy invites another nice guy to eat in his restaurant. Seriously enjoyable clip, watching how the two interact & best of all Beard won!!
Who said Germans don't have a sense of humour? This guy is awesome 😂 good work, Beard!
So German to order “well done” and the chef smiles and thinks “nein…..”
LOL
Yeah, the heart of the steak was so not Well done 😂😅
I was waiting. It's literally just a little well done and looks absolutely delicious throughout, my compliments to the chef!!
That’s “seignant” instead of well done…
@@WordGunnerthe steak is like 10” thick, it would turn the outside to charcoal to get it brown in the middle 😂
40 years ago I did an 80 oz steak challenge. I finished with 30 seconds left and it had a huge baked potato with salad and a roll. I didn't feel well for 24 hours. 2nd hardest food eating challenge I ever did. You did that in under 42 minutes... incredible...
And a challenge the day before.
do you even eat the day breakfast or you go full starve till the challange?
@@Humanprototype-wh8qrBelieve it or not but "starving" for a food challenge or to prepare yourself to eat a lot of food (unlimited Buffet and such) is bad. You will eat less than if you had something during the day. Now for our beloved Adam, I don't really know how he trains or does it for those weekly (if not not almost everyday challenges). It should do a Q & A of sorts to explain all those kinds of questions ! "@Humanprototype-wh8qr
@@oceaneyingoff I think he mentioned that he fasts for like 3+ days before a challenge.
You occasionally hear him mention the health issues he gets from eating like this. The squirts, constipation and swollen legs are among them.
Beard: "can I get it well done please?"
Chef: "best I can do is still mooing"
For anyone wondering how the chef would cook the steak well done, youd first have to cook the crust to however way you'd like it. Then you just heat it in the oven till the internal temperature reaches your desired steak doneness
It's good when the owners/servers interract with you like that. Helps the entertainment value of the vid.
I feel so privileged. The making of a modern legend and I was there as it was being forged, steak by steak, chip by chip, mushroom by mushroom, and dessert menu by dessert menu. Beard! Onward Adam!
i love the actual joyful side of german culture. it especially shows in food vendors. this dude is just living his best life out there in the hinterlands of germany. how sweet is that.
I’ve been watching Beard for a while now, and some commenters are such huge haters on his production crew. I honestly love his increased quality of videos and the reactions/quips from his team. For me, I like seeing Beard motivated by other people in the room whether it be bystanders or people he more intimately knows. I don’t really understand why people are hating on the more complex shots- let alone man explore his craft/passion! It doesn’t hurt anybody and it makes Beard happy. Some of y’all are way too critical of a guy who does eating challenges in front of a camera- FOR US!
It's not that people don't like the quality or production, most can't stand the guy he does the podcast with. He's just REALLY unlikable. If Adam did a podcast with someone else, or alone it would be huge. If he would just keep that guy out of these videos, people would be OK with them too, but he if he's producing the video, he has to make sure he gets some camera time, which isn't smart because people don't like him.
I have a large friend group, about 25 of us who hang out regularly, we all have been watching Beard since the pandemic and just had this conversation last week.
@@lg7841 I understand that viewpoint, but as someone who doesn't watch the podcast his presence to me isn't as much as an affront as it would be to you.
@lg7841 I have to vehemently disagree with your sweeping statement regarding Josh. I have listened to every single podcast and the interaction between him, Adam, and George makes it a very enjoyable hour every week. Three blokes talking inane bullshit but putting a smile on my face. To coin a Beard podcast catch phase... "shut the fuck up".
As a typical Brit, my first reaction was to call that guy a bit of a “character” but then i realised i should be less of a knob and just take him for what he was, a really nice, friendly, cheerful guy who wanted to make Adams visit as good as possible.
Does calling someone a “character” have negative connotations? I consider myself a bit of a character, but I embrace it.
You mean gay?
I think it’s because we’re so opposite of that, we go “look at him over there” when really we wish we were a bit more like him!
@@curbyourshi1056 couldn't care less if he's gay, bi, straight or anything else, kind of weird that you felt the need to comment on what you think his sexual preference is tbh.
@@Sniperboy5551 i think it comes down to how you say it, bit hard to get it across in text tbh. There's certainly a nice way to say/mean it, but unfortunately my gut instinct was to think it in a more condescending or mocking way, which is crappy of me.
Loved that mans energy the whole time cheering you on to victory!

they hated me as a child 😥
just to be a nerd... in some cultures leaving the plate empty signals the host they did not serve enough food, so it is often a custom to leave some on the plate to signal that it was enough food, and you feel full. Mainly Asia and Japan
