Fish processing plays a critical role in the Tanzanian economy, providing employment opportunities, income, and foreign exchange earnings.
Inland fishing currently accounts for more than 80% of Tanzania’s fish supply, but with the construction of the Kilwa fishing port, the contribution of maritime fishing may significantly go up.
