Next time you are in Texas going to Houston you should stop in Centerville and try Woody's smokehouse. They have bbq, beef jerky and lots of stuff they make and sell themselves. I would love to know your thoughts on the place
As a Texan of 45 years, and someone who rarely eats fast food -- except for Whataburger, I can tell you that you really have to eat your Whataburgers in the restaurant, fresh. As you found out, they don't travel well.

After 10 minutes fully wrapped up the lettuce wilts, buns get TOTALLY soggy, and the cheese congeals. Whataburgers are fairly greasy based on how they are cooked and have a large thinner patty so the effects are magnified on that big flat bun. If you don't get cheese and lettuce/tomato then it travels MUCH better.
True. I used to be a team leader at one and would sometimes personally make orders myself after getting complaints. Minutes later after customer would get home, we’d get the same complaint again 🤷🏻♀️
I've worked at Whataburger and unfortunately due to the nature of how we actually make orders, getting large orders like this is setting yourself up for disappointment. We cannot make more than 2 at one time so any burgers made will be put wrapped and just sit there until the rest of the order is made. Smaller orders and nighttime are my recommendation for ordering as 1. Well have it out faster more likely and the food won't have to wait for the rest of the order and 2. In the middle of the night, were probably going to have to make everything to order and not have much preprepared for orders. (although, we were never allowed to let meat sit out for very long)
WTF how can they only make two burgers at a time, is their grilltop the size of a comic book? My own grill was a cheap thing and it could easily fit 10 burgers.
@@BioYuGi Sorry for the misunderstanding, I meant the MUT (make up table) can only really fit 2 people working on actually building and wrapping the burgers and putting them in bags. If it's a huge order like this, 2 burgers will be made, then 2, then 2 (and so on) and the 2 original burgers will have to sit there for the entire time the rest of order is made. (Where normally for a smaller order, it'll be sent out as soon as it's ready.) In terms of grilling, we could easily fit 20 or so burgers on it, but that's another problem, when we dropped 20 patties, some would also just sit there until the MUT could get to them.

As a former employee I can honestly say we kept a LOT of chicken strips up and ready at all times on Sundays because the main competitor, Chick-fil-A, was closed so we always got the church rush. Every single car would have a chicken item! But you’re absolutely correct, it does NOT travel well. Try dine in next time

Yeah Whataburger is also a hit or miss with me here in SA. The swiss mushroom melt seems to be the best burger they have consistently. That and the patty melt. Though I usually heat my patty melt on the stove to crisp up the toast.
That’s a huge order so I’m guessing it took awhile to make (knowing Whataburger) so some of the items probably sat for a bit while the others were cooked.

My lunch today was the avocado bacon burger. You gotta eat that one fresh!! It is 100% my go to *assuming I can eat it within 10 minutes of leaving the drive thru.

100% I'm truly happy for him, and I really hope Brenda is the one. But it is time to stop bringing us on their dates/hotel stays. Something about monetizing their dates and their hotel stays doesn't sit well with me. Like only taking your date out when there is a company party/dinner or fly them out to stay in a hotel only when the company is paying the stay. I know I'm reading too much into it, but as a woman, it rubs me wrong. I'm sure I'm going to get sh!+ for it. Can't help but say how I feel about it. You can get anything on toast at whataburger. I also recommend trying the chicken fajita melt or the chicken fajita taco. I think they are kind of slept on.
Yo, if you have an air fryer, pop your fast food fries in it for 2-5 min (visually check after 2), but it will crisp them back up and taste fresh again!
Whataburger is one of those things that can range a lot based on how busy they are in the restaurant at the time, and other strange factors I've learned over time. Its either going to be the freshest fast food you can get, or it'll taste like its been sitting around a bit based on how work conditions are at the time. During morning rush workers are usually backed up so things take awhile longer. Plus a large order, whatever they make first is going to be sitting around a little bit while they make the rest of it. Generally it won't be the same food by the time you get it home. I never did see him get the breakfast taquitos, but the pancakes are definitely a must try that people tend to sleep on.
Neat video, but I'm afraid I gotta call you out for placing such a massive order via the drive-thru. Not only did they likely suspect that it was just a prank, but that's an overwhelming amount of stuff to order that way. And yeah, as others have said, the long waits -- both to get the food and for the drive means that that stuff had been sitting around for a long time. However long you were waiting for the food to come out; some of the stuff (likely the chicken) was made long before the other stuff.
Making a massive order through the drive-thru is no different from making it inside. I expect the quality would have been the same. These aren't high end places where everything comes out at the same time. A restaurant isn't about serving more people, it's about making money, so bigger orders for fewer people is actually more convenient.

If you want good dumplings and dim sum when you come back you should try Jeng Chi & Kirin Court in Richardson. Both are sooo amazing. Jeng Chi is in Richardson's "China Town" (but it's basically a strip mall with a 1/2 dozen asian restaurants and an asian grocery store). Amazing food at pretty much all of them.
Jeng chi dumplings are on par with the Chinese soup dumplings in San Diego, but weirdly everything else on their menu is total Americanized junk. I wish they would offer more authentic dishes in addition to their dumplings. 85 bakery next to it is another gem

Even their Americanized dishes are fantastic. Their beef & broccoli and their egg drop soup are my favorites in Dallas. I do agree though, their dumplings are the star of the show and if you get nothing else there (Besides their green onion pancakes) you're still in for a treat.

As someone who lives in upstate New York I have shocked many people by saying we dont have Whataburger, Chik-fil-a, Baskin Robins, Raising Canes(cains?), In N Out, Del Taco, Tim Hortons, Panda Express, Jollibee, or Jack in the Box
You can actually buy Whataburger Spicy Ketchup (and other condiments) at most supermarkets in cities that have Whataburger restaurants. Also, if you drive with the AC on, that cold air tends to zap the heat away very quickly from things like fast food. If that is the case, try to not place your bags directly in front of the airflow or where there is a noticeable draft. As a Whataburger fan, it's rarely recommended to buy more than you can eat at a normal pace. Otherwise, it will all go cold and not taste anywhere near as good as when it was hot and freshly made.

I would suggest if you are going to order a lot off a menu, give the location a call ahead of time, and then pick up in the store. That's a lot for a drive through order. That may be why the quality wasn't great/cold
Ugh! As soon as he hit the microwave, I thought, “Please tell me he’s not microwaving avocados and tomatoes on a sandwich!” :-( I sometimes get a few Double Cheeseburgers or McDoubles from McD’s to put in my fridge to microwave later and even get those with no condiments to put fresh ketchup/mustard/mayo on after reheating. And I remove the pickles during microwaving.

My go to order would always be an A1 Thick N Hearty with jalapenos. They don't have it on their menu anymore (last I checked) but it was a plain cheeseburger with bacon, grilled onions, A1 steak sauce and jalapenos. I miss having a Whataburger in my town XD
I worked at Whataburger when I was 16, and friday nights working till 3am, I remember people asking at 10pm for honey butter chicken biscuits like 2-3 of them, and so they would sit a whole hour to order them. I then thought about recommending the idea to just order the Honey BBQ chicken strip sandwich, but swap the sauce for honey butter sauce and maybe sauce on the side you can dip the fries in ;)
Big mistake is not eating a Whataburger fresh at the spot. Do not take it home and wonder why it looks all sad and pop it in the microwave. Love the videos.

Hey I live in San Antonio too. When I get the melt it’s super greasy idk why like they drench the whole burger in grease before wrapping it.

You can actually buy Whataburger Spicy Ketchup (and other condiments) at most supermarkets in cities that have Whataburger restaurants. Also, if you drive with the AC on, that cold air tends to zap the heat away very quickly from things like fast food.
If that is the case, try to not place your bags directly in front of the airflow or where there is a noticeable draft. As a Whataburger fan, it's rarely recommended to buy more than you can eat at a normal pace. Otherwise, it will all go cold and not taste anywhere near as good as when it was hot and freshly made.

Next time you're near Jusgo, you should go in and find Crepes For U. The crepes there are delicious, and the owner is super friendly and joy to talk to!
I would suggest if you are going to order a lot off a menu, give the location a call ahead of time, and then pick up in the store. That's a lot for a drive through order. That may be why the quality wasn't great/cold
All 3 of Mike's hot oils are Ahhhhhmazing!!! I used them all a lot faster than I expected and everyone Loved them that tried them!!!
Ugh! As soon as he hit the microwave, I thought, “Please tell me he’s not microwaving avocados and tomatoes on a sandwich!” :-( I sometimes get a few Double Cheeseburgers or McDoubles from McD’s to put in my fridge to microwave later and even get those with no condiments to put fresh ketchup/mustard/mayo on after reheating. And I remove the pickles during microwaving.
And most of all lettuce. It turns to horrid mush.

My go to order would always be an A1 Thick N Hearty with jalapenos. They don't have it on their menu anymore (last I checked) but it was a plain cheeseburger with bacon, grilled onions, A1 steak sauce and jalapenos. I miss having a Whataburger in my town XD

I worked at Whataburger when I was 16, and friday nights working till 3am, I remember people asking at 10pm for honey butter chicken biscuits like 2-3 of them, and so they would sit a whole hour to order them. I then thought about recommending the idea to just order the Honey BBQ chicken strip sandwich, but swap the sauce for honey butter sauce and maybe sauce on the side you can dip the fries in ;)
Big mistake is not eating a Whataburger fresh at the spot. Do not take it home and wonder why it looks all sad and pop it in the microwave. Love the videos.
