Trying out Gordon Ramsay Burger in Seoul South Korea. This restaurant is one of the hottest ones in town. I've never tried a Gordon Ramsay restaurant before, this is my review of the most expensive burger I've ever had.

No burger is worth over $100. You're just paying for the name. Like Mike said "it's not just a bite, it's an experience. It definitely is a once of a lifetime thing!"
Agree
🎯
Basically got the burger for free and paid for the truffle, almost lol. But yeah, I would try it once if I had the money for it.
My absolute favorite thing about Seoul is the $10 meals at the hole in the walls is just as good as the $100 meals at the fancy places.
@@bamboozledpotat3784 pretty sure she meant 300$. How tf can you even spend 300k on 1 dinner?
Just one of the many reasons I watch Mikey is bc he never passes up dessert!! 😋😊😋
Yeah, Mark Wiens hates sweets.
Life's too short - order dessert
I'm sad to say it doesn't surprise me in the least that the burgers at Gordon Ramsay Burger were underwhelming at the price-point [with the Hell's Kitchen Burger just being underwhelming full stop] - I live in the UK and most fancy burgers just aren't particularly good here. Don't know why.
His restaurants are generally not very good. Only his top 3Michelin star places like Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London are special, I’ve tried all his places in vegas and they are all underwhelming.
I feel like burgers are in the category of food where there is no need for it to be fancy. A £4 burger just does the job every time
As Seth Rogen once said, "thick patties are for d*ckheads." Burgers should be kept simple.
There's this one place I used to go to when I lived in London in Clapham on the High Street that was middle pricing that had a really amazing burger but other than that, you're right.
@@aidin67 I agree with you. I never believed that a hamburger should become a great gourmet dish. It's a simple meal, but it's still delicious if it's done well.
everything to the place where it belongs
From my experience, having too many ingredients in a burger is a mistake since 1) You don't really taste anything anymore and 2) It's a hassle to eat everything together in one bite. For a burger, better to have less, but better quality ingredients (melty cheese, juicy patty, etc.)
Exactly, these "celebrity chefs" are ours control. Taste is subjective, it's always bothered me how they critique ppls food, like if you n your loved ones like it then is banging
nah man the cheap orange fake cheese is the best cheese for burgers, no competition
Agreed
To me, the best burger is a patty melt - bread, patty, cheese and onions. What else do you need?
@@billharris7235 right.... good food is good food
The Gordon Ramsey burger reminds me of when I went to Carlo's bakery and bought an overpriced cupcake thinking it would taste extraordinary because it's from Carlo's bakery, but it just tasted like something you could make out of a box mix...sometimes it's just the brand that makes things more expensive
Sometimes things are worth the hype... And sometimes they showcase the power of good marketing.
Ive also been to Carlo's and got a canoli. Probably the worst ive ever had.
Right I tried Carlos bakery cannoli and I can’t even remember what else. Maybe a cupcake and it was actually horrible I couldn’t eat it 😂
Not surprised the Ramsey burger sucked as burgers aren't meant to be "fancy food" that chefs make. All you need is a good cook and regular ingredients prepared properly. A great burger should be under $10.
I'm satisfied with 3 or 4 Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers from Wendy's. I don't ask for much 🤣
the point of buying a Ramsay burger is to show that money is NOT one of your problems, you share the experience with who you are with, if you are trying to impress anybody, you future boss your date etc etc...THE WHOLE OF THE INTERNET!
get your $10 crap out of here, that's something you don't tell everybody about cos nobody cares, an overweight person who can't work due to being obesely overweight probably eats -$10 burgers every other day
The most I’d ever pay for a burger is $20 tbh

Damn Gordon Ramsey puts his image all over his restaurant. He is even all over the menu looking at you 😂
Just hope he's not in the bathroom. That's just plain creepy...
yeah!!! that is one of the reasons he is making millions while you are writing bullsh... on youtube.
@@ancimargarita2763 so are you
@@smitgupta6256 yeah, but i do not write idiotic messages as you!!!
@@ancimargarita2763 You kind of are!!!
The thing about mom & pop burger shops, Is that they cook those burgers on the same flat top they cooked breakfast, lunch , and dinner on that day. all those oils and flavors create such a unique good flavor on almost anything you order.
Plus they put effort in to make it taste good vs being fancy
Damn, with the amount of shade you threw at Gordon Ramsey here, I think the damn dude's power went out! 😆
*Glorious! ❤ 😍 I salute those who are on a DIET and still insist not to eat anything after watching this!*
Hell yeah. Mikey clutch with the drops.
Hello there, hope everything is okay with you and family! One thing I truly appreciate about this channel is how sincere and honest Mikey is with his reviews. My mouth is watering with the "unpretentious burguer", messy cheesy greesy is my thing the fries also and the dumplings also oh my! Super stuffed and super thing wrapper! Loving this Korea videos even though the trip circumstances were a last minute thing! Stay safe Mikey and Christine :)
loved the video, glad you getting to go some of the places you missed last time and finding new ones. Hope all is going well with Christine and her family. the one thing i loved eating the last time i was in Korea, although it was over 20 years ago, was Mandu from some of the street shops there. some of them were as big as my hand, but darnit they were great! keep an eye out for them, they use to be all over and will definately hit your dumpling craving.
Dang, that $5 burger and dumplings looked amazing!
That second burger place looks right up my alley. Looks so good
Gosh, you make me want to go back to visit Korea. My wife has never been there, and I want to show her stuff. I haven't been back there since I went to see my mother in the hospital. Ever since she passed, I've not had as much reason to go. But food is always a reason to go anywhere. Food is the only reason I go anywhere. Germany, Thailand, Philipines, Japan, New Orleans, Mexico. History, culture, art, nature, okay. Food, yes please.
You missed Indonesian food, they're underated
This was amazing thanks for sharing and smaller restaurants bucket list your amazing and fun great narration
that Ramsey let you record in one of his restaurants is already a success :)
I love your experiences, your videos, because I also enjoy eating
I love his reviews💕💕 you can see honesty through his video 😂😂 i m obsessed with his videos .. lmao😂
If you're in Korea, here are the other locations he went to:
The Real Cheeseburger / TRC (near Hongik University Station Exit 7)
Mangwondong Tiramisu (near Mangwon Station)
Yeonkyo / 연교 (near Hongik University Station Exit 3. There are two but the closest one and the one with the Italian restaurant is the one he went to)
Kyo Bakery Yeonnam (Near Hongik University Station Exit 3)
Mike as always a great vlog !
South Korea is still on my bucket list
When are you opening your burger restaurant Mike ?
As incredible as the food looked, despite the disappointing Gordon Ramsay burgers, I think the thing that fascinated me the most is the sight of disposable cameras in a vending machine. I honestly can't remember the last time I actually saw a disposable camera, much less used one.
"analog" is a fad nowadays. lol
On the table at weddings was the last time I saw them. Everyone got drunk and the blokes took pics of their arses or a spoon!!!! Random
Mikey Chen making Saturdays better by dropping a video!
I love watching all your videos because they are always honest
Nearly 1.5 million subscribers. The hard work you do for us is paying off. 🤗🥰🤗🥰🤚
So excited for a new video. One day I'll get to travel to south Korea
Amazing video Mike!
love your take on these burgers^ looking forward for more of your food adventures! Take care also of your health, i bet those a hard to burn.^^
I know I’m late to the party…. but congratulations to the newlyweds 🎈🎉🍾 so happy for you both & love your reviews always keeping it fresh 😊
What? Mikey got married !!!! Wow !
the frozen seasoned angus burgers from walmart are perfect
Great video mikey, very interesting.
Thanks Mikey! Loved the conclusion about the burgers.
Omg! These videos is making want to visit Korea! I want to eat all that food!🤤
We love Mikey Chen! Our toddler does too. My husband started this video and she said “Mama! Mikey Chen is gonna eat mac n cheese!”. 😂
I love watching videos like this
LOVE EVERY VIDEO!!!
Another great video !!
Wow the price of that burger you would think his burgers would have the recipes down Pat with a boss like that .
Wondering how is your restaurant adventure you were working on is going ?
2:17 Man on right just staring into my soul
이제야 봤지만 솔직한 리뷰 너무너무 좋다 ㅋㅋㅋ 마이키 최고... 진짜 호감이네
When you put up a video for us to watch, it makes me happy and excited to finish my day to relax and watch your videos. Love you mike :)
Hey Mike/Christine.. Happy Friday Friends.. Always good to see the foods.. Lolz.. Enjoy! 🐞❤
Wow thanks Mike! I'm in Yeonnam now and always walked by that dumpling place, but always went to Din Tai Fung instead. I'm gonna try it tomorrow!
Your Dedication to Dumplings, never fails to cheer me up . Xxx 🥟😋
I would be interested in what Gordon Ramsays response would be. He says he accepts constructive criticism.
Looks soooo delicious 😋
I was just like, "Dude. It's been seven whole days! " Hooray for a new release!
Salt bread sounds delicious! Years ago I used to go to a restaurant that served roast beef on salt rolls and it was amazing!
Always amazes me how much food you can eat!!! 😳😂
I would love a new episode in each new city you go to where you try some of the best cheap and then expensive foods, just like this!! Great video theme :)
It’s official. I can’t determine the difference between Mikey’s “this is so good” face and “this is so underwhelming” face. I got whiplash from how quickly that turned.
You'll know it's REALLY bad when Mikey spits out the food.
So happy you're visiting Korea! There're many great local restaurants hidden in the countryside or near mountains (which you need to rent a car). There're many Korean food bloggers that review those places, so hope their vids help if you ever plan on it! :DD
never saw his videos when he was living there for a few months?
Hi @sado429 would you like to recommend me some Korean food blogger (with English sub of course, since i can’t speak Korean)? I only Choiza and Tasty Guys. Thank you in advance 🙏🏼
great comparison Mikey!
The Ramsay burger looks OK but I’m more impressed of the truffle fries and the other burger from the second place. And those dumplings OMG it looks amazing and the soup dumplings yeah you cannot let those soup go to waste. Now I want some soup dumplings. Awesome video as always.
Watching Mike eating dry ramen noodles with hot oil. I m in the groove!
You can eat the most exotic burger you want , you're never going to beat the 1970's style classic char-broiled burger with tomato , lettuce , ketchup , mustard , relish , onoins , pickles and possibly made at your favourite greasy grill joint. If I have to pay 116 bucks for a burger , I'll go the best steakhouse and have a tomahawk. Gordon Ramsey is all hype.
Lol I live across the street from Lotte tower. I've been to Gordon Ramsay a few times and had the hell's kitchen burger and the 1966 burger. I really liked the 1966 burger...juicy, sliced truffles, etc. It actually comes with the parmesan truffle fries (costs around $16 if ordered separately). The fries aren't as big as they seem because they don't fill up the entire cone (just the top part).
You are correct in that the hell's kitchen needs Dijon mustard and some salt.
Gordon has pretty good onion rings as well. They take reservations but they are booked for the next few months. There is a non reservation line that usually takes about an hour to wait through it.
Other good burgers in Seoul include Brooklyn burger, downtowner, onestar, bas burger, etc.
I think you would also enjoy Linus bbq and if you are up for a road trip, sweet oak is great. Chuncheon has great bbq chicken.
Modern shabu house has good ayce shabu shabu. The hanwoo beef option is good. There is a location at the sofitel here in jamsil next to the mall. I think you'd like it since you like hot pot!
Anyway, enjoy! Happy to host as well! Glad you're back in Korea again and hope things are ok with the extended family.
Go to Linus bbq. It's in Itaewon
And there is the entire Gordon Ramsay experience in one concise video.
There are so many great burger places in Seoul. If you want to check out one of my favorites, I recommend California ktichen and Craft Pub in the Itaewon area and no, not California Pizza Kitchen like many locals think it is. It's a burger and Cali Mex place that serves up the juiciest burgers. They use USDA meat for all their burgers, which include a pastrami burger and a butter burger. They also have nachos, tacos and burrioes. Oh and in your neighborhood of Hongdae, check out Tom's Pizza, a friend of mine with a little pizza shop. Enjoy!
The coffee is so cuuutttteee
Mikey, I loveeeee your Korea vlogs.. you should venture out of Seoul... there are a lot of other places to visit in the outskirts!!!!!
Hey Mike, if you are still in Korea, try this place L'Espoir du Hibou in Cheong-nam-Dong. Its the oldest french resturaunt in South Korea.
Thanks Chan. Definitely will check out those spots
We went to the Gordon Ramsay Burger in Seoul 2 weeks ago..You can actually make reservations Mike thats why there are 2 lines at the entrance 1 line for people who have reservations the other for walk ins ...it was not bad the burgers were good but obviously paying for the name ..Service was great though and all the staff lovely .
Hope everything is alright with Christine's family, really enjoying watching you travel to other countries again, I know you've missed it👍
My mouth was watering the whole time watching this video
Love your reviews always in depth and honest, thank you for the great reviews and looking forward to so many more, so funny to hear about the seasoning as to Gordon always knocks other chefs about it 😂
Yes upload!!!!🥳🙏🏽❤️
This guy has changed so much After he had a girlfriend that I don't even feel like watching him anymore, I want to stop but for some reason it's been so many years that I can't.
Wife she’s his wife.
Naturally he’s changed over the years but we all have, I used to watch back when he used to do the reviews and videos on Off The Great Wall. I’ve changed in that time and so has he
Wouldn't it be AMAZING if Gordon Ramsay priced his 1966 "birthday burger" at only $19.66??
I haven’t been to the Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Seoul South Korea but I have been to his restaurant hells kitchen it’s immaculate it’s soooo gooood the braised short rib and his dessert chefs kiss
Hello, fellow Texans hope to see you in Fort Worth, TX one day love your videos and your honest opinions about what you eat. Have a blessed day you two!🤠😎
Shake Shack hits my spot … something magical about a smash… had Salt Bae popular burger in Istanbul 2 weeks ago but still prefer the double Shack burger
Same here haha! That texture of the patty 🤤 soo good 👍🏼
I’m still lovin In-N-out…they have never failed me.
Awesome job Mikey 10/10 for you
Ramsay needs a visit to his own kitchen for a make over 😅 literally is a kitchen nightmare ... 116$ for a burger 🤦♂️ . Always love Mikeys honest reviews
🤣
That $5 burger looked so good. Could buy that burger 20 times and still have change left over rather than that pretentious truffle burger lol.
Winner for the best video on RUclips! Bravo 👏
My bf and i have lived in this place for years, and we became friends with trc's owner before he opened the shop in hongdae ! Not his first, he's definitely experienced and it became our favourite burger place of all times! The buns are especially a main factor, the peppered and meaty patty too! Everything really....
We used to call in advance and ask for a 10 patty burger hahaha
(We also visited 망원 티라미수 and that mandu place a lot aha you're hitting all the right spots!)
Like you said, the truffle and meat are themselves amazing ingredients but judging the burger on its own at this price value.... isn't really worth it.
Who the heck wants a 10 patty burger? The meat to bread ratio is so important.
@@b1k2q34 people who like challenges lolololol
Crazy how there's so many fancy restaurants just outside your house. Imagine having that too in my neighborhood I don't need to go and drive so far.
Have you ever had a monster bacon cheese burger witch is in the deluxe 1/4 or 1/2 pound seasoned, choice of cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, sliced garlic butter pickles beef gravy on top?
Oh my! The sirloin looked amazing!
Appreciate ya'll keepin it real.
When Mike suddenly says ‘oh this place is naughty.’ Lol
damn. Mike didn’t hold back on the feedback and i love it
Mikey im so happy you went here you totally have to watch Tzuyang eat all their burgers it was insane!!! You guys should do a collab while you're in Korea!!!
I don't really think it would be a great collab. Tzuyang just eat. She doesn't describe the food as good as Mike. She basically just devours food, while Mike does review too. He describes every flavors, every ingredients as detail as possible.
@@omiamos7586 I agree! Although it's entertaining enough to see Tzuyang eat food, noone else but ( Mark Wiens) comes close to descriptions of food!
I had the same experience at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant in Vegas.
Hi from NYC... I hope you do a live chat. Anyways, thx for the review of food. It looks delicious 😋
Check out his twitch channel idk if he streams there often
Thanks for Trying Hell's kitchen, now I now I don't need to do that. That second burger place with the double patties and cheese dripping all over looked sooo much better!! I'm so glad you are doing some travel and food review and look forward to watching your videos for many more years!! HUGS
Hey Mikey any good dumpling recommendations around the Lotte Tower area?
Great video! Thanks. Columbus, Ohio USA 😋❤
Those dumplings, looked amazing
Can’t wait to try when I go to mapo
Thanks for the review .
whenever you back in NYC, please stop by 7th street burger in the lower east side. SO GOOD
Mikey! My friend is the owner of TRC and didn't even know about this until your video. So stoked!!!
OMG. The prices on Gordon's menu are just out of my pocket. Hahaha
Oh man, that second burger place is legit and there are so many dope restaurants in that neighborhood.
Mike chen is the main reason I became a RUclipsr, i love his videos so much . If you come to Egypt again please be my guest. I wanna take a photo with you too . Best wishes
The second burger looked incredible. I’d eat that one on a daily basis.
That giant white ball reminds me of the classic British series 'The Prisoner'!! 😲
Mikey, thank you so much for sharing! Every time I see these videos of yours, it makes me want to go there and try all the food (especially the spicy stuff)! Can I ask, how do you order? Are you able to order in Korean? My one concern is that since I can't speak Korean, I wouldn't be able to order the food - and I also wouldn't want to be rude by using English. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Many thanks for the video again!
