It's about time that 7-Elevens in the US are brought up to the same level as the 7-Elevens in east Asian countries. Hopefully we can see these type of upgrades across the country soon.
It's not really an upgrade they're not doing anything different than any normal 7-Eleven
hahaha, still no where near Japan or Taiwan 7-11s, and his favorites were not even 7-11, they were Larado taco company, and yes ive been to and tried the 7-11s in Japan and Taiwan, and other Asian countries

I think they’re losing customers to Wawa in certain areas, so they are trying to keep up. It gave me Wawa vibes.

The state fair is amazing I will say that only went once I just happen to be there when it was going on I'm from Florida and it blew my mind
Years ago, I did a phone survey for 7-Eleven. At the end of the survey, I was asked if there was anything I'd like to see at 7-Eleven. I replied that here in California, many convenient stores will grill tri tips in the parking lot. They would use the meat for tacos and sandwiches. The surveyor replied, "That sounds good. What's a tri tip?" I'm glad to see you can get a taco or barbacoa burrito at a nearby 7-Eleven.

It’s great to see how much Laredo Taco Company has grown. It’s a south Texas company, and their recent growth due to their 7-11 merger is great. So proud to see a big part of south Texas border culture in the rest of the state.

I feel every time I want to watch some cozy Mikey Chen 7 eleven journeys I look it up and find a new video has just gone up and my day is just immediately a little brighter. Seeing as this is Texas, I'd imagine it would have to have a decent 7 eleven and I hope the rest of the stores start to somewhat catch up to asia's standards soon. Especially if we get to see Mike feast at every single one he can reach!

I agree. I never bought anything from 7-11 in Taiwan when I was there. Unlike Japan where I ate at plenty. This one in Texas look good enough.

recently we had a 7/11 built by where we stay and they are making more but as of right now they’re in impeccable condition as of right now lmaoo
I'm a Hawaii resident. I too experience Taiwan and Singapore 7-11. I gotta say, Texas 7-11 evolution looks awesome.
In my opinion I always thought Racetrac and WaWa were really good at upping the convenience store aspect of gas stations in the US. There's actually a BuC cees here in FL now too. It's cool to see slowly America is adopting more and more asian culture in grocery stores and latter. Mikey thank you for your videos and honest reviews of all these amazing places. Thanks to you, I created the channel Latin Chopsticks because your videos inspired me this past year through such tough times during a global pandemic. You helped me start a journey to make my life long dream true. I hope my channel keeps on growing and to one day be able to meet with you and sit down to have a meal together. Thank you!

There's one major aspect of Asian 7-11s they're still missing, and it's not really their fault. America (and Canada) has a mega-sprawl problem, everything is so spread out, you have to drive everywhere, and half the land is occupied by parking space. I love the accessibility of having the storefront right on the sidewalk, and dense cities are so much better for someone like me who has medical reasons to not drive or walk super far just to get some snacks. So, good start, but they'll never capture the magic of true convenience.
In Austin (Texas) we have a popular convenience store chain called Royal Blue. They don’t have parking at any of their locations. They’re located in the most walkable zip code in the state. Great spot to grab a quick bite to eat and enjoy a beer
The only sad thing is they aren’t open 24/7, but there’s a 24 hour 7/11 next door by one of their locations lol

Laredo Taco was acquired when 7-11 bought Stripes a few years ago. The tacos are solid, especially during breakfast..

Her chipped nails are so relatable 😊. Not many of us go around with perfectly manicured nails in our day-to-day ordinary living. We don't have the time or the inclination to run to the nearest nail salon every time our manicures chip. We just let it go. I love her already.

When we're in Asian countries we go to 7Eleven multiple times a day when we're walking around for drinks, snacks, quick lunches and to stock our hotel rooms with drinks and snacks. At home in the US I go once every few/several years and only for a slurpee and that's it. I agree with you Mike, if they were like the one you went to we'd go regularly.
They need to open them up in New York, would do well with how dense the city is. They'd get a lot of foot traffic. Would work well in Chicago too.

Thanks Mikey for bringing me down memory lane 😊. I used to go to 7-Eleven in Hong Kong in my childhood days to have cool and quick bites. The ones I usually visited there were tiny stores but as a kid, I thought everything was cool. It's great to see US has cool 7-Eleven now...love the drink choices!! Not sure if Canada has one like that.
I remember when I first left home and went to San Diego, CA the 7/11's were so different in 1976. You could walk in and have a fresh made sandwich. Choice of breads and fillings. It was amazingly good and cheap.
We have a Laredo Company 7/11 here now and the breakfast tacos are the bomb. So good. But the Eva lotion must be invention of who ever owes those particular stores. I would love to try it.

Having grown up with Laredo Taco CO. tacos most of my life down near the southern border of Texas, it is my opinion that their breakfast tacos are far superior to their lunch/dinner tacos. Most of the lunch/dinner options are too dry, like you experienced and really need some type of sauce/salsa to make it palatable.

I think 7/11's are only in the southern USA but there is always room to expand north.

@@kupski1964 Isn't that what they're doing with these new locations? They certainly couldn't sell what the Japanese stores can but they've definitely seemed to increase the quality and variety.

@@bl6628 That's unfortunately true. The Mexican inspired menu is more accepted among American palates than a lot of asian dishes. Still, I wish it could work out to have both. :(

7-11 was my favorite place when I was a college student. It was budget friendly, fast, easy, good and convenient. Still love 7-11.
Being in Australia I am not sure if I can purchase your broth bases, but I would like to say I whole heatedly trust the effort you have put into crafting their flavour.
The one near where I live has had most of this for awhile,minus the taco place…and 7-11 taquitos are amazing,especially the cream cheese and jalapeño ones!

Makes total sense for US 711 to team up with fresh Mexican food (in Japan, it’s mostly fresh Japanese food).
They have one in San Diego
They need to open them up in New York, would do well with how dense the city is. They'd get a lot of foot traffic. Would work well in Chicago too.
@@greenmachine5600 Their main target with these should be Cities with dense populations like NYC, Chicago, LA, even Canada needs it in Toronto and Vancouver. Any city with a large work force is definitely where they should be targeting these.

Wow that's a crazy looking 7 eleven I would have to agree with you that if 7 eleven would change all their stores in to those types I would really want to check out because I just started watching your content and I just love your 7 eleven series from Taiwan Japan and Korea and haven't stopped watching your videos keep up the great work
You have to bake the 7-Eleven pizza for 5 minutes longer than it says. Amazing frozen pizza after that.
7-11 will also bake the entire pie for you for free.
