In all honesty after getting this car, it is actually a lot of fun. The handling is like that of a go-kart and the size of the engine, the 1.6L 4-cylinder SE trim, is perfect for the light weight of the car. Big fun for a small price.
It's actually one of our favorite transmissions. If we had to give up a stick, it's the transmission we'd go with. You just have to get used to the way they function and shift through the gears. Some manufacturers do a better job than others. Volkswagen and Audi do one of the best DSG in the business.
The 1.0L Ecoboost is set for a Fall release after the Fiesta ST. We're thinking either Oct or Nov, as for the Fit, expect Honda to show as the full production version for the US at the LA Auto show in Nov.
It's sad that the clutch seal is causing such problems for this car. I have a 2014 SE with the Powershift DCT and I absolutely love it. It's so lively and fun to drive when you want it to be, but not a chore in stop and go commute traffic. I love love love the feel of the DCT. Yes I've had the clutch replaced due to the bad seal just like everyone, but that was 40,000 miles ago and it's been smooth as butter ever since. Once Ford works out that seal, it'll be a perfect subcompact!
Love my fiesta SE...have the K&n short cold air intake on it and getting around 34 mpg. He is right about legroom...Im 5'11 and my left leg almost hits the steering wheel. On back windy roads here in Pennsylvania it goes wherever you want it to,hit the gas and it pulls you through the corners,no understeer
My 2011 Ford Fiesta with the same engine averaged 42.5 mpg on a 1,736-mile trip from San Jose to Seattle and back, so the range was 500 miles on a full tank, but the fuel warning lit up with 1.75 gallons still in the tank.
I disagree about the interior. I'm a 6'2 guy and I had no problem feeling comfortable in the Fiesta. I even test drove the Fiesta (granted it was a 2012 model but still) and I had no problem feeling comfortable in the drivers seat. I didn't even have to adjust the seat. I did sit in the backseat to to see how it feels while it is a somewhat small, it's not so painfully small that it's useless.
Really :0?? I'm 5'10/5'11 :) does it feel narrow when you're driving it? :/ I wanted purchase the fiesta as my first car but I'm indecisive :( any opinions?(:
Sorry for the late response. In response to your question, it doesn't feel narrow at all. However, if you're still not sure, I recommend taking it for a test drive and see if it fits for you.
It's pretty roomy. The backseat is slightly cramped, but wasn't a deal breaker. The seats are easily adjustable. I say the interior is definitely of reasonable size, and I had almost no trouble getting in and out. It's definitely big on the inside.
Excellent review it handles like a go kart i get 35 mpg around town and hauls ass off the line it's a light weight vehicles with decent power I love it
I get same mpg the car handles fantastic don't know what go cart handling is and the car is quick off the line and around town I have 2014 se love it don't have a clue how voice command works or phone but don't need it best car in its class byfar
I just bought one two months ago and I'm really loving it. I kind of wish I got a different color instead of black, but what can you do. Recently went on a road trip with it up Mount Rainer and it just did great on those winding roads.
I have the automatic. I got the hatchback SE model. Unfortunately I don't know my average MPG. Don't really think about it. But I do go to the gas station about every 7 to 9 days and don't pay more than $35. Overall, I love the car. That's all I can say.
I just bought myself the 1.0L sfe model. I love it I average 36 mpg and I also have the 5 speed manual which I will say I find much more enjoyable than the automatic with powershift.
I love the mirrors! my 2012 Escape has huge side mirrors with blindspot mirror built in, I see lots of Fords come standard with those. Ford did a really good job with those! Only thing I don't get why some people prefer the blind stop assists that only blink a orange light compared to see it yourself real life mirror.
i feel the same way. the blind spot mirror should be standard on all cars. i don't ever have to check my blindspot. the blind spot monitor is pointless if you have a blind spot MIRROR.
I just bought a 13 focus with a dct. its something to definitely get used to but after you do i like it more. it definitely has the manual feel, and shifts very fast from gear to gear. I love it, but it takes some getting used to. As does a cvt.
gentlemonsterkennels it's a great car and I love mine. They just have a different shifting feel to them. They tend to feel exactly like a manual and so for me not shifting the car myself but having it feel as I am is a different feeling. They sometimes aren't as smooth at low speeds like parking lots, but they are very nice for everything else. I like them better. And it runs awesome. Has a lower engine note and I like it. Gets absolutely amazing mpg
Thanks for your help! I want to get one. I got offered a good amount on my 2012 mustang 5.0 so I was thinking about getting a gas saver that has more room. The room in the backseat of my car sucks! How many mile does your car have? If you don't mind me asking
Most of the people who have problems with them have not ever driven a manual transmission and they don't understand what is going on inside. The only time I've been able to confuse one was when creeping along at 2-3 mph in traffic.
I would like to rent the Fiesta and just drive around for a bit to see how good it is as a daily driver. Did you guys know that the 1.6L engine is being used in future Spec Racer Fords?! That's a real race car guys! It's called the GEN3!!!
Don't buy one I have one had nothing but problems with the transmission probloms. if don't belive me google it or look loon it up on RUclips you will find so many videos on this car with the trasmission problems.
I just ordered the Ford Fiesta Trend 1.5L sedan 2016. Hoping that next week the car will be released and ready to be picked up. I'm hoping that this car drives well. I didn't have the time to drive test the car due to busy schedule. I'm not a fan of toyota and honda but those cars are popular here in our country. Reason why I chose ford was because you don't see them much on the road.
One thing i notice about the US versions compared to the versions we get here in Australia is we get nice looking trim but the US get that not that nice looking two tone interior its too 90's for my liking and black is so much easier to maintain. :) Id love to start doing what you do over here in Aus to show the differences
Great review. I was looking for a video that had the sound of the car in it. Though in south africa we have the steering on the right hand side. Thank you. im super impressed.
The fiesta was the first good American sub-compact. Are you sure this car was introduced in 2011? I remember there was a green 2010 model my parents were about to buy.
I'm eager to see what that 1.0 3-cylinder Ecoboost will feel like both in driving and in fuel economy. Do you ever test these cars long enough to run through a full tank and see what kind of mileage you get?
Hello everyone. I am 35, married, with 3 children and want to buy my first car. I was thinking on buying a 2007 Nissan Versa, a 2010 Ford Fiesta or a 2010 Chevrolet Sonic but here in Dominican Republic most of the people I’ve asked tell me that I should go either for a 2005-2007 Toyota (Camry/Corolla) or a 2005-2007 Honda (Accord/Civic) and discard any other alternatives that I might think of. Which other options (brand, model and year) would you recommend? My budget is 330,000 RD$ (5,790 US$). My wife and I barely go out and we plan on using the vehicle mainly to go out of town and buy groceries two or three times a month, and maybe the occasional visit to her parents’ house once a month.
Had the opportunity to drive a 2014 Fiesta ST. Pretty darn fun to drive. Clutch was a bit spongy but maybe that's because it was new. I'm curious to see how the Dual clutch with the standard motor drives.

For my money I'd rather have a Fit.

Shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, it sounds like the gears are grinding with a bit of crunching mixed in, the noise is loud in the car (without the radio on) and audible outside of the car. When taking off from a complete stop, the transmission causes the car to lurch and then pop into gear. I have the K&n short cold air intake...it improved my mid range and gas mileage.
Very affordable, and it looks cool! As a younger person who needs a fun-to-drive, very safe, and fuel-efficient car, I'd buy this car! (:
It's actually one of our favorite transmissions. If we had to give up a stick, it's the transmission we'd go with. You just have to get used to the way they function and shift through the gears. Just bought my granddaughter an 18 S sedan. Liked it so much I bought a 19 SE hatchback. They're just fun little cars!
This Car Won't Blow You Away.
It's sad that the clutch seal is causing such problems for this car. I have a 2014 SE with the Powershift DCT and I absolutely love it. Did they ever fix it.
Yes but since then another issue came up - build up of clutch dust in transmission
I have a 2014se love it I had clutch replaced around 40000 miles car been running great since nice gas mileage handling is great what a car
I bought a 2015 fiesta se a week ago can’t beat it 40 plus mpg and a peppy little car. 86,000 miles on it. Automatic, but still fun!!!!
I know I’m 10 years too late haha
Ford builds some excellent vehicles lately .
I bought 2 2013 escapes one titanium and 1 del both with 2.0 eco boost and all wheel drive
Use your blinkers!!!!
+Ariel Elrod He must use a BMW as his daily driver. XD
I uninstalled mine in my BMW to save weight
Good reviewer. He moves right along and doesn't waste time.
They are still not out yet... expect to see them in dealers around Dec
You should really consider doing more reviews and more often because you have the best channel on this segment. Way better than roadfly in my opinion.
Love my fiesta SE...have the K&n short cold air intake on it and getting around 34 mpg. He is right about legroom...Im 5'11 and my left leg almost hits the steering wheel. I have the exact same car except the sedan version and I like the way it sounds when you gas it
You're getting really good at this, keep it up!
How did I miss this review a week ago? You're the best channel I subscribe to and this video is awesome!

Yes, in Europe it's available. Best engine for the car, I really recommend it.
ever since I have this ..it's been in 5 recalls for its different parts big time was the transmission
Are people supposed to signal when they change lanes in VA?
In theory, yes.
pretty sure you're supposed to do that in every state
No
The fiesta was released in 2010 but as a 2011 model.

I have a 2015 Fiesta fog lights, steel rims, and manual roll up windows, it also has cruise control and power locks, the model is on its 4th clutch
The Fit and Versa are actually quite roomy, even in the back seat

Ford needs to hook you up with the 1.0 SFE model. Would like to see you give a detailed review because I plan on getting one here soon.
I live in Ohio and our local dealerships are just starting to get the Fiesta ST's in dealerships.
great review, covered all points.
If this fiesta gets the 3 cylinder definitely getting it for my first car
Nice review; thorough and objective.
Wow... some people are actually excited for the three cylinder... Didn't see that coming.

He already has a review of the Focus ST.
The Japanese used to be the #1 in the segment and used to have less options due to standardizing and packaging, namely Honda.
5:43 the 2011-2013 models had a small padding there
Great review. I was looking for a video that had the sound of the car in it. Though in south africa we have the steering on the right hand side. Thank you. im super impressed.
Where I live we use the same denominations as US: S, SE, SES and ST, SE being the entry level (S is just the barebone model)
how long can this car go on a full tank of gas?
I heard somewhere that the Ecoboost may not be for the Titanium, but the SFE line...
The fiesta was the first good American sub-compact. Are you sure this car was introduced in 2011? I remember there was a green 2010 model my parents were about to buy.
I can't wait to see that EcoBoost 3 cylinder!!
Nice Review Of 2014 Ford Fiesta. 😀
Yep
Instead of being a Ford commercial, I would have appreciated if the video address the transmission problems that have bedeviled this vehicle
Agreed
Cool. We have it in Europe already and it's brilliant.
I'm eager to see what that 1.0 3-cylinder Ecoboost will feel like both in driving and in fuel economy. Do you ever test these cars long enough to run through a full tank and see what kind of mileage you get?

Everyone always has problems with the automatic. Just get the manual.
I wonder if the poor reliability of the Fiesta is largely due to the auto transmission. Does the manual escape all these problems?
thihal123 It is:www.truedelta.com/Ford-Fiesta/problems-301/2012
Some electrical/AC Problems to a lesser extent.
@deezomaxima Which is exactly why I snatched up an "old school" (and far superior) 5 speed with low mileage. These newfangled "CVT" transmissions are garbage. They will get you KILLED.
I got a 2016 with the dual clutch automatic, never had any problems with it.
@@thihal123 no they just have getter gas mileage
The 2014 model will be available with that engine, car & driver already did a test on that.
Will you ever do a review of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T/3.8?
I have to say that when I sat in a '13 I found the seats to be quite flat and uncomfortable. I also didn't particularly like the clutch and the way the manual felt. To me it seemed rather spongy. It also developed a nasty piston slap issue last year at 38k miles. I hired an atty and got together with Nissan consumer affairs and they released me from my loan and took the car back. Is the 1 litre Ecoboost already available for the Fiesta?
Just bought it yesterday
Has anyone ever tried to fit a snowboard in one of these?
I think its one of the nicest in its class (in looks) my mom needs a new small car. In terms of price, this seems nice. The Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris is pricy
always enjoyable!! good job!
What does the s mean on the PRDS stick is that sport mode if so what does that even do or mean
Wow, 290$ for the comfort package. In Denmark you have to pay 1250$ just to get automatic temperature control in your Fiesta.
Ummm sorry for asking this if you already said it but I didn't hear, this car doesn't come with aux?
i have got the ford Fiesta style+. is it only in the UK? :)
Would you please review the Ford C MAX Energi?
I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta and would like to upgrade to the new hybrid.
Ford needs to bring the coupe versions to America.
It looks like a hatchback Fusion, which isn't bad at all!
Hmmm my first generation Ford focus zx3 is about the same dimensions as this fiesta. Upgrading to this is gonna be very nice
Aston Martin grille!! Niceee
Headlamps look like an alien and grille of course looks like aston m

Could you do a review on a chevy cruze or chevy sonic? Thanks
Just got this car for 14.5 K sedan version though
Not according to the US site. It may be an option in Europe etc, though.
The sedan is better than the hatchback I will always prefer The sedan because it’s longer than the hatchback.
