The 1.25 zetec is an absolute workhorse of an engine looked after . Know a few driving instructors who have put serious mileage on these cars with few problems including myself who took one to 170.000 miles 👊🏻love them 👌
The 1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 N/A engines are all very reliable. Other wet belt engines not so much. Can easily get 200000 miles and more in the zetec s/se/Duratec engines. They do however consume oil at a fair rate past about 100k so as long as you keep on top of that they should give you minimal issues! ❤️

It shocks me that people are happy to spend more on trainers than quality tyres which could when needed save them. have explained this to a few younger people and the logic hits home. i think the premium car companies do not hit home with this fact.
Tyres definitely matter. Why are the two replies even debating this ? Even the compound of a tyre makes a huge difference. Driving the same car with good tyres will feel like a completely different car. It matters even more on a motorbike.
I fitted 4 new Pirelli 'powergy' tyres to my Z12 Nissan cube here in Feilding,New Zealand recently. Wow! What a immediate difference, noticeably quieter and smoother ride generally and especially over manhole covers and such like, and felt more secure on corners etc. Love my cube, love these videos and the way he treats his cars properly, therefore his customers.
I hired one in Germany, when I lived there to drive back to the UK back in 2010. I think, I absolutely drove the socks off it, my God did it handle well and was just a tiny 1.25 petrol. I far better proposition even as a diesel than the later eco-boom ones.
As a Fiesta owner/driver, put new plates on it and fit the front one about 5mm lower than almost everyone else does, so that the lower chrome strip on the grille is not obscured to give it the full "Aston Martin" treatment. Recently replaced the (4) original Conti tyres on mine with Michelin Crossclimates and it's made a notable improvement to ride and handling

We had a 59 plate Style+ with the 1.25 duratec and was a brilliant car. Went to Kia afterwards to avoid the Eco-boom era and now have one of the last Bmax. This is a good car and was £1000 cheaper than an identical spec fiesta, probably because they tend to appeal to the National Trust card carriers.
Had one the same colour, same year, looks good polished up. Titanium 1.0, 125 bhp petrol - great little car, handled like a go cart and never missed a beat. All the ecoboom stuff is a bit harsh, it's a complicated engine and needs to be properly serviced. If you are a nerd and want to know where your Fiesta was made, it could have been Spain, Russia, UK or Cologne in this era you can tell by the letter and number combo on your VIN plate.
Ford have just come out and admitted there is a problem with the wet belt. A batch of their engines now qualify for recall and repair at Ford's expense. They are being selective which ones at present, and won't recompense people who have had new engines at their own expense..
Ecoboom is fair. The wet belts can and do fail before the service interval either in time or mileage even with religious servicing by a main dealer. By 2014, they were all built in Cologne for the UK market. Dagenham had shut down in '02, leaving only Southampton producing vehicles (Transits) until that too was closed in 2013. The Valencia plant was building the Mondeo by then, and Russia produced for the Eastern European market.
@cjmillsnun Those belts that fail do so because people either self-service or use a local independent who fills the engine with any old 5w30 or 5w20 oil. The WSS-M2C948-B spec has been specifically designed for the wet belt and is the only oil that should be used on the Ecoboost. How many independent garages keep a jug of that on the shelf specifically to service fords ecoboosts... None. Garages have a 500L oil tank that's filled once a month with 5w30 A3/B4 and they use it for everything. That's why belts fail.

You certainly seem to have brought some quite decent cars so far this year and those that did not make the grade have been given the boot - I bet your accountant is happier😄 Not a diesel fan but the low running costs of this Fiesta are going to be a great selling point. Don't think you should worry about the amount of profit - we know you will have to pay VAT on the diffence between the purchase price and the selling price and you will be on the hook for issues that might arise with the car in the first few months.

I brought my better half a 2014 fiesta 1.5tdci zetec with 30k on it in 2017. It cost £7500 and the only issue it has had other than wear and tear has been a water pump housing leak which I replaced myself. These cars have the looks, drive great and are cheap to run so it’s no wonder my missus won’t change even though it’s not ulez. Matt has a fabulous example here and its new owner should not be disappointed.
i bought one of these back in 2019 its a 16 plate 1.5 tdci zetec and have still got it and i can honestly say i have never had a days trouble with it its the best car i have ever owned in all of the 50 years i have been driving i cant fault it absolutely brilliant little car
If you're buying a manual N/A example (if Ford even made those), you should be fine🤞. It's the Ecoboost engines and the automatic transmissions that always have issues that could sometimes total the car (repairs could cost more than the car is worth). I'd recommend a Honda Fit (Jazz if you're not from North America) as an alternative. They're fuel efficient, fun to drive (especially with the manual), and they're very reliable.
Great to see! I wouldn't be concerned about your profit, it just indicates you got your purchase price right and kept a lid on expenses. The day you buy a car, replace just the number plates and sell it for a lot more must be coming soon, based on the confidence you showed about their adding value. 😊

Was my first car... a 63 plate 1.5L Diesel fiesta... Saw me backwards and forwards to Heathrow from Kent weekly going too and from work. Had two more Fiestas after that one (all be it both petrol) and think they are cracking little cars.
I learnt to drive in this generation (pre facelift) fiesta, it was a red titanium 1.4 diesel manual, it was slow af, making it a perfect learner car imo

The pregnant looking Fiesta. I passed one this morning up a 1 in 10 appx hill at 60mph in my 60bhp Skoda Citigo! Admittedly, I was accelerating in 4th gear and the Fiesta may well have been in 5th - but who cares, the Fiesta was slower than the Citigo and I suspect would not be as good as the Citigo in sticking to the road despite the Fiesta's raving reviews!!
I have a 2015 1.25 Zetec, i purchased it in the mindset to keep it for a few months until i got another car, i still have it now 2 years later 😂 cheap to run, cheap parts to repair. Nice one on the profit, well deserved.
I know that the fiesta is a gd and popular car, i will always go for a Focus, i had a Mk2 focus the facelift one the Mk2.5 bk in 2010 and had it for just over 9 yrs and had between 74 and 76 thousand miles on it, Great car and i miss it, wish i knew where it is now, even my first car is which was a C1 from 2007, Great video 👍
I am pleased it is not just me with number plates i have owned a fair few cars over last 28 years and i have always said a new pair of plates really lifts a car and it has to be pefectly strait and not on the tilt!! (seen many a high end car with a wonky plate) that and clean wheels or even trims/hub caps!! All in the detail😎

1.5 diesel timing belt is 112,500 miles or 10 years,had them break or strip way before they need changed. If they strip it’s a camshaft and rockers coz the camshaft lobes turn and the rockers crack,if it breaks It’s camshaft rockers and valves. Pollen filter is down at the drivers footwell probably never been changed in its life.also if u can hear like a knocking noise when u turn the steering wheel it is the universal joint that goes onto the top of the steering rack,Ford fiestas and the Mazda 2 famous for it.
We had a white one of these as a works 'pool' car Matt....oddly it too always looked like the tyres were flat, spent most of it's life in the garage with engine management light on! (Even lower miles than yours).....They swapped it for a Toyota Yaris hybrid after six months, which was unusual as they were on 3 year lease.😕
Radiator fans can go on these as they run all the time with the AC. I’ve had to do that with both my son’s and daughter’s 1.25 Zetec versions. Really easy to do yourself though and that’s the only trouble we’ve had with those cars.
My mother has a 2010 fiesta 1.6 turbo diesel. She must have owned it for around 10 years now. Returns ridiculous fuel economy. Around 140k miles. Never missed a beat once and she was about 40k miles late doing the cam belt and water pump. Not my cup of tea but I respect it 😂
Eldest bought a 59 Titanium to learn to drive in Limited budget and wanted something half decent. Came with a service kit, and 224k on it. Six months later, 229k (I use it, 1.6d is insanely economic (could use a sixth gear though)) and nothing at all has gone wrong, going strong. Was MOT'ed last week (bit of woory) 1 advisory front worn tyre. Cracking little car, drives perfectly. Compared to my XF that has an expensive repair almost every week.
You earnt every penny of this profit. You go out, take a chance and see how the dice rolls. In this case it came up a six. Love the colour too. Better than my 2016 1.4 Style, which snapped a belt a week after I got it and was written off in November 2017
Fantastic little car that! I ran an almost identical one for three years back in 2014. It was a works car, on a lease. I tried to buy it when it went off lease. At three years old with just over 40k miles it'd have cost me £4750. Due to a paperwork cock up it went to auction instead of to me. Was gutted!

Can I just commend Ford for releasing so many beautiful colors? Too many grey, white and black on the road already. The deep impact blue is gorgeous. Have a beautiful metallic blue myself.
I have to say a 1.5 diesel in one of those is a blessing. A 1.0 first gen ecoboom could have been a bit of a disaster as soon as the word wet belt is mentioned
@@gamesmaster1060 I loved my mk8 1.0. As much as Matt would disapprove it was stage 1 remapped and was very nippy but easily returned over 50mpg. If it wasn’t for the stupid wet belt design they’d be great engine, just idk about the longevity of the engines with them being small 3 cylinders. With the new timing chain design hopefully they’ll be better, but they’re too small for the focus i think personally. If there was many on like 200k miles then my opinion would differ, but if I hadn’t have sold mine on 50k in December 2022 it’d be on close to 90k miles now, would have had a new timing belt and clutch and quite a few other things. And for the cost of the belt replacement, I just don’t know whether it’s worthwhile or if the engine wouldn’t have much life left in it
Low mileage for age, but still £6995 for a nearly 10 year old car. That just shows crazy prices of used cars since covid.

Driving style will outweigh tyres all day - if you drive fast it may be worth the extra otherwise it's mostly silly safetyism.

Matt if you use a dremmil or similar to cut a groove in the screw you can use a flat blade to take plates off without snapping 😉

Was my first car... a 63 plate 1.5L Diesel fiesta... Saw me backwards and forwards to Heathrow from Kent weekly going too and from work. Had two more Fiestas after that one (all be it both petrol) and think they are cracking little cars.

I learnt to drive in this generation (pre facelift) fiesta, it was a red titanium 1.4 diesel manual, it was slow af, making it a perfect learner car imo

My dad has a 2015 fiesta and it a brilliant little car never had a problem with it at all..
The pregnant looking Fiesta. I passed one this morning up a 1 in 10 appx hill at 60mph in my 60bhp Skoda Citigo! Admittedly, I was accelerating in 4th gear and the Fiesta may well have been in 5th - but who cares, the Fiesta was slower than the Citigo and I suspect would not be as good as the Citigo in sticking to the road despite the Fiesta's raving reviews!!
I have a 2015 1.25 Zetec, i purchased it in the mindset to keep it for a few months until i got another car, i still have it now 2 years later 😂 cheap to run, cheap parts to repair. Nice one on the profit, well deserved.
I know that the fiesta is a gd and popular car, i will always go for a Focus, i had a Mk2 focus the facelift one the Mk2.5 bk in 2010 and had it for just over 9 yrs and had between 74 and 76 thousand miles on it, Great car and i miss it, wish i knew where it is now, even my first car is which was a C1 from 2007, Great video 👍

I’d personally change the belt a lot sooner than 10 years. They didn’t get the nickname Ecoboom for nothing.

I am pleased it is not just me with number plates i have owned a fair few cars over last 28 years and i have always said a new pair of plates really lifts a car and it has to be pefectly strait and not on the tilt!! (seen many a high end car with a wonky plate) that and clean wheels or even trims/hub caps!! All in the detail😎
Bought a 2010 fiesta anything after that were bad years to buy right up until 2016 and it has never let me down.

I had a mondeo ST in that colour. But for that it was called ford racing blue. Such a better name. Also had a kuga in “deep impact blue” (keep thinking about the dodgy disaster movie deep impact). Even in the dealership i called it ford racing blue

1.5 diesel timing belt is 112,500 miles or 10 years,had them break or strip way before they need changed. If they strip it’s a camshaft and rockers coz the camshaft lobes turn and the rockers crack,if it breaks It’s camshaft rockers and valves. Pollen filter is down at the drivers footwell probably never been changed in its life.also if u can hear like a knocking noise when u turn the steering wheel it is the universal joint that goes onto the top of the steering rack,Ford fiestas and the Mazda 2 famous for it.
We had a white one of these as a works 'pool' car Matt....oddly it too always looked like the tyres were flat, spent most of it's life in the garage with engine management light on! (Even lower miles than yours).....They swapped it for a Toyota Yaris hybrid after six months, which was unusual as they were on 3 year lease.😕
Radiator fans can go on these as they run all the time with the AC. I’ve had to do that with both my son’s and daughter’s 1.25 Zetec versions. Really easy to do yourself though and that’s the only trouble we’ve had with those cars.

My mother has a 2010 fiesta 1.6 turbo diesel. She must have owned it for around 10 years now. Returns ridiculous fuel economy. Around 140k miles. Never missed a beat once and she was about 40k miles late doing the cam belt and water pump. Not my cup of tea but I respect it 😂

Eldest bought a 59 Titanium to learn to drive in Limited budget and wanted something half decent. Came with a service kit, and 224k on it. Six months later, 229k (I use it, 1.6d is insanely economic (could use a sixth gear though)) and nothing at all has gone wrong, going strong. Was MOT'ed last week (bit of woory) 1 advisory front worn tyre.
Cracking little car, drives perfectly. Compared to my XF that has an expensive repair almost every week.
I had one of these and it got written off, that car was brilliant. I might buy one of these again.

You earnt every penny of this profit. You go out, take a chance and see how the dice rolls. In this case it came up a six. Love the colour too. Better than my 2016 1.4 Style, which snapped a belt a week after I got it and was written off in November 2017

Fantastic little car that! I ran an almost identical one for three years back in 2014. It was a works car, on a lease. I tried to buy it when it went off lease. At three years old with just over 40k miles it'd have cost me £4750. Due to a paperwork cock up it went to auction instead of to me. Was gutted!

Can I just commend Ford for releasing so many beautiful colors? Too many grey, white and black on the road already. The deep impact blue is gorgeous. Have a beautiful metallic blue myself.

Cut a rubber band in half place it over the worn screw then put the driver into the screw if will help bite on the screw
Here in Thailand very few people buy a fiesta auto between the years 2011/2014 because of major problems with the auto gear box
I have to say a 1.5 diesel in one of those is a blessing. A 1.0 first gen ecoboom could have been a bit of a disaster as soon as the word wet belt is mentioned
It's ashame the 1.0 drives a lot better and is a lot more fun
@@gamesmaster1060 I loved my mk8 1.0. As much as Matt would disapprove it was stage 1 remapped and was very nippy but easily returned over 50mpg. If it wasn’t for the stupid wet belt design they’d be great engine, just idk about the longevity of the engines with them being small 3 cylinders. With the new timing chain design hopefully they’ll be better, but they’re too small for the focus i think personally. If there was many on like 200k miles then my opinion would differ, but if I hadn’t have sold mine on 50k in December 2022 it’d be on close to 90k miles now, would have had a new timing belt and clutch and quite a few other things. And for the cost of the belt replacement, I just don’t know whether it’s worthwhile or if the engine wouldn’t have much life left in it
