- DJI Osmo Pocket 2 low light test, Night walk in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo 4K
A quick disclaimer: This video does not feature any photos, it was just made to test out the low light features of the DJI Pocket 2 as I have been trying to find the ideal POV camera set up for making my photo vlogs with. Let me know your thoughts on how well it handled the low light.
I recently picked up a DJI Osmo pocket 2 and decided to test out its low light capabilities with a little night walk around my neighbourhood of Shimokitazawa. The audio is straight out of the DJI using its built in microphones and I filmed the video using the following settings.
I really enjoy walking around Tokyo so might upload some more videos like this in the future of aimless Tokyo wandering to share this awesome city with others.
Settings used:
4K 24fps
ISO auto (Max 800)
Shutter Speed 1/50
Cinelike colour profile (graded in FCXP)
This is next level. Thanks for sharing this amazing footage. 👏
Lovely Tokyo
This is really impressive for the camera's sensor size, I have seen cameras with larger sensors and wider aperture but they did nowhere as good as the pocket 2.
Right get me one of these. Thanks a lot. Didn’t need to be spending like this but you convinced me
Beautiful work
Stunning
Wow! It's a really cool video..❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing the video.

This footage Awesome, looking forward to see another Video. Greeting from Jakarta
For a normal Person this DJI Pocket 2 is incredibly amazing. Just bought one. Love this thing
this is amazing mate! keep it up rooting my support to you!>
It looks like a music video, loved it for a small device
This is very good. Dji pocket 3 is release soon and even better & Love when many use bicycles !
Looks pretty great! Especially when compared to a Gopro!
Hi there. Are you hand holding the camera or using some kind of mount?
For a small pocket camera, it actually looks really decent! Not much noise and the video looks sharp for my eyes.
Have you ever tried to vlog with Osmo Pocket 2? How does internal mic sound? Am curious to hear the audio quality of your voice, relative to the ambient sound when vlogging on the street.
Hi there great video quality! just wondering what are the white balance settings?
Nice
Beautiful walk tour. Are you in follow mode?
Hi Please, what are the best night video settings for osmo Pocket 2 for less noise?
Looks fine, Mr. Dub. I am not seeing noise. Sound is good.
No noise but blury when the people is moving..
Hi there, I know this video is a few years old but I just picked up a pocket 2 and was wondering if you used the battery saver mode or high quality mode for this? Thanks if you can answer!
Nice, noise handling looks really good! Be better to see it in 4K maybe but understand if you’re not doing the channel in 4K.. One big advantage, you may know about already, is if you upload to your8be in 4K, it uses a different codec for compression, much higher bit rate, so I actually start up scaling 1080 stuff to 4K for RUclips. Seen the insta 360 go 2 by the way? Looks pretty decent, unsure about low light.
I did upload it in 4K, maybe it’s still processing it. The last video i shot I used the insta 360r but then I made a night video with it and the footage was garbage so I sent it back and got the osmo instead. It’s not as ergonomic to use for POV street stuff but the image quality is better then the rest from what I can tell, and the main thing is that the low light looks good
@@Visions_in_Toyko Ah yeah fair dos, it took 48 hours for one of my vids to be processed to 4K!
Yeah can see low light is defo your priority - it was specifically the go 2 I meant though, supposed to be much better, and Im really attracted to how tiny it is :)
When you lower your fps to 24, yes it will less the noise when at night and brighten the light. However, it will also increase the blur on the moving object. When you do moving, best still 30fps.. 😘👍
24fps provides a natural amount of motion blur, hence why it’s been the standard for cinema. If you want a “film like” look then 24fps is the one to go with
@Dat Guy I just used 24fps personally
If I ever did video, that's the rig I would use. But I'm a stills photographer, always have been, always will be.
Did you use an anamorphic lens?
much better than insta360 rs
Hey mate, did you denoise the footage?
Did u do follow me or tilt lock? Thanks
I am debating on getting this camera. If set to 60fps, would the stuttering when panning be eliminated?
At 60fps your shutter speed will be 1/120. It will be very dark in low light. Think that this sensor is good up to 800 iso.. after that, not so much.
Plus you'll lost the cinematic look at 60fps.
Were you holding it in your hands, or was it mounted somewhere? How would you mount it to your photo camera?
I was holding it just infront of me using a pgytech mount that has a little handle and secures the phone in place as well
dude this looks reallly good in low light wtf! did you do any denoising?
Nope no denoising. Just put a limit on the iso up to 800
@@Visions_in_Toyko how ypu put limit to iso to 800? You mean you set up manually iso to 800 in pro mode??
was this shot at 24fps?
I'm shooting with the same camera and I get street light glare at night, any suggestions?
make sure the lens is super clean, often that will cause the glare
@@Visions_in_Toyko thanks bro, do you use any filters too? Amazing video by the way 🔥
High,
May I ask if you denoised the footage with software?
Thank you.
No I didn’t, just kept the ISO to 800 max. The just did a small bit of colour grading in the edit
30fps or 60fps?
24fps
