Shame that Capcom hasn't shown any concern to bringing back their old games, I think they should just throw them together in a Legacy Pack or something on Steam.

Great video, and congratulations on 10k! I've been playing Monster Hunter since the first game, and I'm still playing it now. It's such a shame that all those quests went with the servers. I'm glad there are people out there putting in serious effort reviving servers though! Also, something to note--at 2:00, you mention the first game being in Japanese text only. The first game was in English too, I still have my copy. G, and Dos never left Japan though, sadly.
I like the way you tell your hunter stories and describe the monsters and their lore plus you and your friends hunts are funny should post more of your hunts and stories and gameplay i would also love to join your hunts sadly i only own world iceborne and rise sunbreak on console
Wish i can play Dos again since i didn't have PC to emulate it. Still remember from 2011 - 2015 play Dos with burango patch (around 70% - 80% already english) it was great experience.
I bought monster hunter 1 last year, I honestly really LOVE the feel of it! I think it's because I first started with tri when I was just getting into it back in 2010 but MAN it's just such a different but nostalgic feel

Why would anyone ever play those old PS2 games over the Freedom(PSP) versions ? The PSP versions are better in every way, better graphics, controls, more content.... Genuine question is there something I am missing, unless you want to play on a PS2 I don't see it
You're correct, it can be said that MHFU > MH2 for most cases. But MH2 does have its own advantages, that is Online Play. For those who cares about playing with others MH2 > MHFU, because even tho MHFU does support multiplayer as well, its ad hoc party. Later on we can play MHFU online as well with the help of XLink Kai, but yeah its not as seamless as MH2 at that time. Fortunely, most of MHFU content can be beaten solo, so its still enjoyable for most players.
Events. Difficulty. Different roster. Noticeably lesser hitbox and hurtbox jank. Better online experience. Bias against the portable games. The list could go on especially for people who have legitimately sank in thousands of hours on each of the home console and the portable games when they came out in their native platforms 🤷♂️
Better graphics? You are wrong my friend, the PS2 games have way better graphics, the PSP had way lower graphics because it was a weaker console. Better controls? Well that depends on what you consider better, the PS2 controls are weird but I wouldnt say they are bad. More content? Are you telling me that MH2 that has 2 villages and 1 online city, has one of the best stories and village progression in the saga and a lot of unique dynamics like the seasons or day-night cycle has less content than MHFU? MHFU has more monsters and maps but that is not the only thing that makes a game have more content man. About your last question, is there something you are missing? Everything. This games are excelent and a completely different experience to the portable series, I recommend trying them!

Sounds like most of the issues during development could have been resolved by making the server emulator code open source.
