The other part that wears on these is the large cam (360294) which is not part of the rebuilt kit but should be. I purchased a rebuild kit (360516) which is for the older Rebel cleaner 360275. My bearings are not splined either. I do wonder if these are the same size bearings for the wheels and Pentair just decided to use them for the spline shaft. I will measure during the rebuild and report back. Thanks for making this video. Very helpful.
Nice work, when I talked to the suppliers at Pentair they were pretty helpful and they told me the newer style bearings were heavier duty without the spline. Thanks for all your info and checking out the channel. 👌💯
Hi! This video is great! I’m going to order the kit and work on mine myself rather than take it in. Would you recommend replacing the cam also as suggested in a previous comment? My vac is barely moving if it moves at all. No circles no movement.
I would if it is a cheap enough item. My cam was fine. My cleaner runs every day for 4 hrs and is still on the 1st rebuild from this video. Thanks for checking out the video.
Great video as i am in the process of buying a Rebel 2 cleaner. In your video you didn't say it the humps on the wheels needed to be off-set by say 180 degrees or should they be aligned? Also has the rebel 2 been put out with the newer non splined bearings and tougher drives shafts? what is the reason for a mark 2? There is also a new Worrier model. Would this be in fact the Rebel 3 As they are marketed at the same price point.
No both wheels are independent of each other so it won't matter. As for the newer models I don't know sorry I only researched this machine when i needed to do the rebuild. Still running on the rebuild from this video. This machine runs 4hrs a day 365 days a year. Happy to spend a few dollars every couple of years until the main gear box or body fails. Thanks for checking out the channel.
The two smooth bearings included in the rebuild kit are not for the wheels. They are for the drive as shown in the video. The bearings/bushings in the wheels are a different size.
I’m a bit confused, my local pool shop says the Rebel 2 kit is compatible with the old Rebel and they have changed out many, but searches on Google tends to say non compatible. What do you recon? 🤷♂️

I installed the rebuild kit (360516) and a new cam gear (360294) and the unit it now working again.

Dude, the two smooth wheel bearings are just that for the wheels they’re not splined because they don’t go inside the vacuum.
