  • Hayward / Poolvergnuegen have an idiotic design for their pool cleaners that will always fail - and in this episode Ill show you how to fix it so they stop taking your moneys.
    Edit: it's been a year now and the same pair of zipties are in there and zero issues. Works better than it ever did before.

    Been having problems for quite a while but couldn't figure it out. Your zip tie fix is genius and fixed the problem perfectly. I'm in awe you could isolate the issue to those parts and come up with such an easy solution. Way to go!

    Great fix! My pool cleaner froze up out of the blue. Thought something was jammed in the cleaner (one time it sucked up a gopher that fell in pool). It turned out to be those wobbly gears. Your zip ties worked great. Pool cleaner is busy again. Thanks so much!!

    Thank you for the info! I’ve purchased 2 of these and thought they should last longer. Now I can fix both of them!

    Worked like a charm 🎉 Great video. Not just because it fixed my Hayward aquanaut but because steps well documented.

    Your video is amazing! I was getting so frustrated with our 8 month old vacuum because it kept going into the same corner and not moving. Our pool has been a disaster because of landscape construction, and today it finally looks so much better (even with the wind and construction). Thank you so much for this trick!

    My Hayward Azua 200 was having issues - would only spin in circles periodically. I tried bumping up the Pump pressure, making sure all collection sources were cleaned out of leaves, palm tree seeds, and finer items. I also cleaned out the wheel grooves, but nothing worked. I was thinking of buying new parts but then found this video which changed everything for me. After making these changes the cleaner now runs all around the pool while on and I am very happy! Problems with cleaning the pool are solved!

    Yuuuuuuuuup!....freaking GENIUS!...
    already bought one of those long spine shafts thinking that was the problem... and it was a problem because it was worn out ...but not the real reason why my pool vergnugen was not working... this fix took only about 5 minutes and two zip ties and it works!... geez save me a lot of time and effort and hassle I was just about to go buy all the guts for this thing...saved me $$$🤑🤑🤑
    Thanks for posting this video You're the best!

    GarageBattle - Excellent video!!! Good video angles (even with camera in one hand), good instruction, to the point, and done! Enough reasons why and how. Well delivered. It took me longer to gather zip ties, and tools than it took to fix it.

    I'm taking my machine apart (again) tomorrow. I suspect I'm going to be breaking out the zip ties and the drill. You're a godsend. Thanks - this problem was driving me crazy in a house that's being sold in a month or two, and the last thing I wanted to do was to replace my ?$%#@! pool cleaner. I owe you a drink, at very least.

    Only issue I can think of is the zip ties will fail from the chlorine. I've used them to tie hose weights to a pool vacuum hose and they only last about six months.

    Where did you get the gear shaft parts at?

  • @toddk1249
    @toddk1249 Год назад

    My aquanaut includes a stabilizer piece. It's part of the grey housing. So shaft wobble only happens when you disassemble. My aquanaut is about 3 years old. You can see the tab doing its job without taking the unit apart - just look closely through the black grate at the gear in question - you'll see it.

    I'm not saying it's not designed to fail. But I think you are misunderstanding the mechanism, that drive shaft is loosey goosey because it moves in and out to trigger the thing to turn around.
