I fully expect Sparkle to play one of the biggest roles in this patch solely due to the fact that her character trailer featured her fighting enemies that that will only be released in 2.2 which means that she was an entire patch ahead of everyone else compared to foreshadowing
My only current theory is that Robin is the mastermind behind all the "death" in Penacony.
In a place where all the characters want freedom (Firefly, Gallagher, Aventurine, Acheron and probably someone else I might be forgetting) who is more feeting to free everyone that the icon they all adore?
I would say her actual plan is to take all the power of the Family away in order to be herself again (In this case, she is also saving Sunday from the "control" of the Family (Or maybe the control of Xipe?))
I don't have to much proof, but it has been a gut feeling since the moment March pointed out her voice was off, like she didn't prepared to sing that day.
I'm hoping Sunday is alive. Only because it'll be funny to call "death" a fraud. Like bro can't even kill one guy lmao.

Perhaps Sparkle join the masked fools after Izumo get destroyed. There must be some reason why black hole absorb the planet completely. We never know Sparkle backstory. Maybe she dislike what happen in Penacony. It is said (during the side quest) that people in Penacony under test by Dr. Primitive. People in penacony controlled by the family like a cult.
The masked fools infiltrated to astral express and blow the train. They are the one who come and mess around. Joke about other faction and have some fun.
More Jing Yuan and Luofu!!! While the story gave me a headache trying to understand it, I do like the characters and can’t wait to visit more ships (idk why I just assume we will visit one new ship a year)
I didn’t notice until this video but it is surprising how little we know about most of the 2x characters
Edit: I would love for Misha to join because I think characters joining and leaving (beside the core members) adds to the whole path of Trailblaze and Nameless aspect
I remember part of Ratio's note to aventurine saying: it isn't death but rather dormancy, so everyone that was "killed" is probably just in a deeper layer of the dreamscape we haven't seen yet.

I think misha and Galagher will be expanded upon when we go to the reef area (the one that was showed in the livestream) and will most certainly meet the watchmaker there.

Pretty sure devs confirmed a return to the Luofu in the 2.1 livestream... either way it makes sense that we'd go back there after 2.3
also on a side note, sparkle back in 2.0 humored the possibility of a "catastrophe" coming to Jarilo-VI, so a return to belobog is also in the cards (but that's much farther out)

for real the Loufu storyline was so poorly told that I forgot most of what happened already. I remembered Belobog more than Lofou.
I actually left when loufu’s main storyline ended.
When I came back 2.0 because of Penocony and sparkle, I had more fun in huohuo’s side story and the mission catching ghosts.
Then I experienced Penocony’s storyline and DAMN the plotpoints and story telling is awesome, not to mention that almost every single line of dialogue has its meaning. You can literally understand what the characters’ motives are plotting by their dialogues.
After experiencing the 2.2 mission I can only say that DAMN those plot points were well buried.
it’s already shown that the giant me mechanism is sunday, because the boss is literally called sunday❤
I mean elation girly is beating the breaks out of one of the harmony cage goons from this patch on her trailer. Makes sense she will crash the party. And I've always know Sunday is the final villan I mean come on. Look at this man, he has main villan in "disguise" energy all over him.
Also I'm 100% sure Misha has a bigger role at the end and will end up joining the express. One read of his level up files and you can be almost certain he's a direct decendant or is directly connected with the watchmaker, his legacy, an old nameless all a combination of all 3.
KingYuan saves the day (i knew i want crazy when i thought that the luofu conclusion was so shit because it wasn't a conclusion (maybe i am acoustic idk))
The only reason why im not surprised both Dhil and Jing is in penacony is i constantly rummage through the quest item category in my inventory for both achievements and quests
It's only been in my mind constantly is because it's REALLY annoying that there's barely any side quests in 2.1

I thought that people don’t die in Penacony rather they go into dormancy. That’s what Ratio’s letter says. So unless we are equating this dormancy to death then no one really dies like Tingyun, but rather, is dormant. So this point is semantically confusing. The family does not allow anyone to die in the dream scape they just go to the other side of Penacony- the Penal Colony I assume or prison.
So, the reason Robin and Firefly are not dead is due to how the dreamscape is built inherently. And I just think the MC is going to get got in the dreamscape. Like in Belebog they have to do something to get the attention of the aeon and mayhaps it is dying. That’s my only assumption about this patch tho.
but, sunday just got oofed, and yes, aventurine got oofed too, but acheron does say, he is still alive, so EVEN HER can't kill in that space, but we did see aventurine going somewhere (probably inside IX) so i guess something happend to sunday as well thats in the same situation as aventurine, but with different build up
And to be honest, the weekly boss looks more like something the watchmaker would build ngl
Wonder if we're going to get more information about the family turning people into memes. There a quest where you restore a npc memory and you help release his family from been memes and restore his memory completely. But also seem like they died? It was confusing.
here is my prediction 2.2 is not the end of Penacony at all. i think it is gonna be end of the dreamscape part, but not overtall. i Think 2.3 is gonna be a epilouqe to Penacony, where we deal with the aftermath in the dreamscape in the real world. we still have topaz walking around the hotel, and we still have to deal with Galigher. unless he is a boss in the middle of the story ala Gepard in belabog.
The story in Xianzhou Luofu still not finished. The astral express come to Luofu just blow Phantylia. They help the alliance find the culprits. I do believe Jingyuan and the other high ups knows something but not sure. That is what erudition way. Careful tactics. But after phantylia disappear, the problem is not even ended. There is still stellaron somewhere in Luofu. Perhaps Jingliu and Luocha team up just to fight Yaoshi and her minions.
Also, Jingyuan used to say (when meet IL) that they (jingyuan and dan feng) used to work together in the past. So no wonder if they work again. Maybe that is why IL not going to penacony. Just in case, he got called back to Xianzhou Luofu.
One of my predictions for 2.2 is that watchmaker is gonna be evil so far penacony has been one massive game of "we can't trust no one" so it doesn't suprised me if the watchmaker is evil or atleast is gonna betray us
Also the best character to add to the Express hands down is Sparkle. She just vibes and doesn't do much of anything else besides mischief. I doubt Mikhail, I mean, Misha can leave Penacony and most everyone else other than Acheron and Sparkle have their own things they have to do
Going back to space china would kinda makes sense cuz they left waaaay more loose ends there than space vegas

Regarding Misha , I don't think he will be relevant at all. He might have a small role or appearance but nothing major.
There is also absolutely zero chance that he will join the Express. On that same note I do actually have a theory.
I think there is a high chance that Acheron will join the Express. There is four main reasons for that:
1- She doesn't have any affiliation with any group. Yes , she does call herself a Galaxy Ranger but we know that's not true. And especially now with Boothill after her , it very possible she will stop associating with them and get under a new affiliation , like a Nameless for exemple.
2- She's marketable. Right now , she is one of , if not the most, popular characters in the game. So it makes a lot of sense to add to the crew as a marketing move. Also a lot people would like that (Me included).
3- She's very relevant to the story, even beyond Penacony. Its pretty clear to me, that she will be a major character in Star Rail story, at least for a while.
4- Out of all new characters in Penacony, she's the one with the closest relationship with crew. We literally already worked and fought side by side with her.
With all that said, do I think its gonna happen? Not really.
While I think there is good arguments for it and that, if one character would join it would definitely be her, I think the mostly likely scenario is that simply no one joins.

I just had a devious thought when you talked about Sparkle. What if they replaced all of the upcoming 5 stars you get with Sparkle and Sparkle eidelons
wanna add the other possibility before anyone gets their hopes up for jing yuan and dhil showing up: this could be sparkle showing up at the climax with her illusions to make it seem like we're being saved but we're not
ofc it is possible the luofu actually is coming but i think it'd be better to expect it to be sparkle so we're not disappointed

For me, Sunday, Gallagher and Misha has the highest possibility of dying. Not to mention hsr official twitter stated that "There will be some characters will not show up at the express after the story ended" That's a hugeeee change tbh
