What projects are people working on these days? Mine, someone elses, your own, whatever it might be. 🤔
At the moment some fly by the seat of my pants prototype projects. Did do a couple of Dieselpunk's masks. Leather is running low so haven't been able to do much armor work. But here in a week or two I should be able to restock and grab some of your patterns. Definitely will be grabbing this pattern.
currently working on 4 full armor sets that were suppose to be done months ago but the outbreak happened. I'm still stuck with the 1st set.
Recently made a few plague doctor masks with built in goggles, used some red thread over the top half of the of the rond lenses to make have a little extra
Finally making some wallets and made a couple pouches over the last couple weeks.
I'm carving my horse's settle's horn and leather cover.
Man I love your work.
If I could only recommend one thing is that i would like someone wearing the end products.
Sometimes you wanna see how sick it really looks, haha.
Great job as always.
AND you supply patterns?! hells yeah!
In regards to Tokonole application, I utilize small applicator bottles with a long, blunt needle-shaped nose. A drop every centimeter or so, smear on with finger. Afterward, I use canvas to burnish. (I have used the same 4x6” canvas cloth for almost a year)
Awesome video Magnus. I usually see people just rub the Tokinol on with a finger tio
The pinky is the best haha
Awesome to see you back on armor videos
Omg. I had to pause the video I was losing it at the Antique gel part. Also I love that style/design of jaw and head on the Snakes! They look wicked!
hand stitching like a lunatic is the way to go...amazing work as usual.
Try using Q-tips for the tolkenal on the edges and the make-up ones with pointed tips to get to the really fiddly spots when applying dye/coloring. Alternatively the fine paintbrushes in the paint section of any art area/store for detail work will give you similar ability for fine detail coloring or working the edges. The trick is to remember that just because something is marketed for a specific purpose does not make it the /only/ purpose.
As an example vasaline/aloe gel is a perfect blending tool when working with colored pencils.
I have enjoyed working on many of your patterns! You are quite the inspiration, sir!
looks great!
Great design! Thanks for the detailed explanation of your process.
For tokinol I just use an awl. Dip it in and roll it on the edge.
Gorgeous work and wonderful tips. Thank you!!!
Great project and as usual, awesome work! 👍
I'm absolutely speechless craftsmanship is outstanding 👌👌👌
Those are awesome! Man I need to get back to work
yes keep the armors coming so i can just learn to make my own!!! :D great vid as always!!
tokonole . try using some foam/sponge .just dab it in tokonle and wipe of the excess. and you can cut it to a shape to suite how u want to use it
i like leather items in this form. :)
Finished up a dice tray and plague mask, next project is a dice bag, and then a holster. Hoping to start a wallet for myself eventually.
Wow amazing video bro♥️❤️
I made a hand brace cause i have tendinitis in my index and thumb so when i working with tools like when im working on my car my hand doesn’t cramp up all the time
Тиснение 5+. Очень приятно что качество моделей и фурнитура становится лучше!
Amazing work as always.
Would love a video tour of your shop sometime
Great idea, I'll do one soon.
Cool greaves!!
I like taping and cutting the paper as well... Even when I use a weight without tape, I tend to move around the leather a lot when I cut, which can shift the pattern. :S
I have a huge bottle of gum trag that will probably never get used again after I tried tokanol. :P It seems to work noticeably better.
I use an awl or my finger to put it on - you spread it on like I spread butter on toast, heheh.
Tokonole is the truth my friend! Much like your antique though, you don't need nearly as much as you're using. A little bit goes a long way, I will usually apply small dots of it along my edge (usually with just my finger) an inch or two apart and then smooth out with my finger before burnishing.
Great looking greaves! I was wonder what weight of leather you are using for this project.?
Would love to see what you could create for those in Mounted Archery!! 😉
👍👍
wow you have new hair and beard style , splendor :)
Прекрасная работа! А чем ты покрываешь кожу перед теснением? Какое то масло?
Oki
Great work ^^)
Great vid as usual, got some Tokonole on order myself can’t wait to try it. I am pretty new to leather crafting, made a simple bracer for my first piece, working on a helmet currently. Got any advice for creating designs to tool onto leather? Trying to come up with my own Wolf design.
IT'S THE FIRST TIME EVER YOU DON'T SAFY "You can do this only with vegetable tanned leather, nothing else"!!!

new comer here
really loved binge watching your works
but i hope you wouldn't mind if i ask to have a demo or a clip of you wearing or using it
How do you get the contrast in your carving with the finish then antique. I am using fiebings pro resist and brushing on three coats with 6-8 hours between. Applying antique and my carvings are blending...any help or tips would be awesome!
Watching the Japanese artisans they tend to use in order of preference; a fingertip, a flat glue spreader or a cotton bud (q-tip)
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Oh yeah… looks easy enough..
I love your videos. Is there any chance, though, that you made the shoes in this video? or that you could do a shoe pattern? because those were awesome...
Those shoes/boots - how about a pattern for those please?
Is it possible to carve, bevel and background second hand-leather? If so, are there any specific things you need to consider during the process?
Not really, it has to be unfinished vegetan. Finding that used is pretty tough.
Seal front and back before toc.
Looks really good! Needs More antique hahaha jk
Hahaha
xD. Let me start by saying I love your videos and your work. That said, man...... I swear EVERY video you end up ham-fisting your gel antique haha.
7:05 Can i know the name of that tool? Tq so much..
I believe they're called Leather Oblong Slot Punches
@@cal0051 Has it correct, it's an oblong punch. You can get the same result (though of less quality) by punching 2 round holes then cutting a strip out between them if you're feeling cheap. BUT, practice a lot since you don't want to screw up your piece.
At 7:05 I wonder who showed you that little trick....
Lol.
