I’m from Georgia. My dad used to make biscuits and chocolate gravy a lot when I was a kid. I’ve only made it a couple of times myself. He used to give me a little of the cocoa powder and sugar mixture between my lip and gum and called it “snuff”. Made me feel grown up. 😂

My grandma made this s-Ecuadorian for us grandkids. Anytime I met some one new and told them about it they thought I was CRAZY lmao We were always required to have one biscuit with gravy then we could have all the chocolate gravy biscuits we could handle. I always beat everyone cars I love chocolate more than the rest of my family. DELICIOUSNESS!!!

My family is from Tennessee, my momma it and her relatives did too. We would have it for breakfast. We never put vanilla in it. Momma made it good but she always made a big kettle full cause she had 5 kids. We ate it by the bowl full and then flopped our butter in the bowl with biscuits and served it with a cold glass of milk. Oh my!. I need to make some.

My mom used to make this for us for supper sometimes back in the 50's and 60's. It was such a treat for us. I make it for my grandkids now who love it.

I always heard of tomatoe gravy and chocolate gravy but my MS country grandmothers didn't cook either one. I have made tomato gravy once, eaten it out once. I love love tomatoes but not a big fan. This chocolate gravy on those thick hot biscuits looks amazing. I think the biscuits not being sweet will be a perfect match. 😋

I just got home , was in for 3 days , only because my hemoglobin has been steadily dropping and when they ran blood test it was down again, to 7 . So apparently I'm loosing blood somewhere ? Anyway they gave me a blood transfusion and 2 iron infusions , so I'm feeling better actually . The chocolate gravy video was not just YUMMY looking but so fun ! I got such a kick out of Russ , loving him some chocolate gravy ! It looked so good I didn't blame him ! You are such a wonderful cook girl ! I love the interaction between you and Russ , brings back sweet memories , Ken and I joked around like that too. You are so sweet to answer like you do , you make me smile ! 😘😍
Oh I’m so glad you made it home and hopefully the blood transfusion will help your hemoglobin, that certainly can make you feel so bad. So no clue on where the blood loss is from? I’m sure you have had tests done such as colonoscopy or upper GI, but honey stay on it, until they get to the bottom of it.Im so glad you are enjoying our channel, that makes my heart smile. @@Rhondascountrykitchen Thank you . Also setting up for colonoscopy . They wanted me to stay another night , prep in hospital and let their GI Dr. do it in hospital . I said WHY would I pay ( you know even with insurance you still pay a portion ) to prep here pay for at least one more night .Nope got a GI Dr. who's been our family's Dr. for 20 years. I will stay on it as I know it's coming from Somewhere . As far as your videos , they are fun and great recipes too. Also you don't stand there S L O W L Y chopping onions or slicing potatoes just in case we need a tutorial on it !!!
Yes ma’am I say go with your gut and if you have a GI dr you trust wait for your person! I’ll be praying all goes well and that they solve the mystery of you using blood and repair it. As far as my videos, I understand people have better things to do than watch me slice and dice veggies 😂 now if someone says how do you do something I’d be happy to explain, but I think most people have it. I know how busy I am and how precious my time is and I try to make smart decisions how I use my spare time and I try to be mindful of that! There’s a product called Carbalose that is supposed to compare to flour they also make Carbquik that compares to Bisquick, I have not personally tried it, I did try almond flour and coconut flour and I didn’t love it, you could make biscuits with the flour as well, it is on Amazon and worth a try, I’ve seen Carbquik in Walmart, I hope this helps, if you try it let me know in case someone else asks 🥰🤗

I also make scratch biscuits the easiest recipe to share is on the back of the White Lily bag, tried and true but these honestly are just as good ! I get the sugar issue though, I’ll bet the gravy could be made low carb but then there’s the biscuits lol 😂 🙈

When I was growing up chocolate gravy was a dessert! Good old hot buttermilk biscuits with chocolate gravy, yummy! My oldest grandson likes chocolate gravy on his pancakes and waffles. It’s delicious! ❤🤗

Momma made it good but she always made a big kettle full cause she had 5 kids. We ate it by the bowl full and then flopped our butter in the bowl with biscuits and served it with a cold glass of milk. Oh my!. I need to make some.

My mom used to make this for us for supper sometimes back in the 50's and 60's. It was such a treat for us. I make it for my grandkids now who love it.

I always heard of tomatoe gravy and chocolate gravy but my MS country grandmothers didn't cook either one. I have made tomato gravy once, eaten it out once. I love love tomatoes but not a big fan. This chocolate gravy on those thick hot biscuits looks amazing. I think the biscuits not being sweet will be a perfect match. 😋
Yesss the biscuits are a perfect match because it isn’t too sweet. The leftover gravy also makes a wonderful rich chocolate pudding when chilled, soooo good 🙌🥰

I just got home , was in for 3 days , only because my hemoglobin has been steadily dropping and when they ran blood test it was down again, to 7 . So apparently I'm loosing blood somewhere ? Anyway they gave me a blood transfusion and 2 iron infusions , so I'm feeling better actually .

@@Rhondascountrykitchen Thank you . Also setting up for colonoscopy . They wanted me to stay another night , prep in hospital and let their GI Dr. do it in hospital . I said WHY would I pay ( you know even with insurance you still pay a portion ) to prep here pay for at least one more night .Nope got a GI Dr. who's been our family's Dr. for 20 years. I will stay on it as I know it's coming from Somewhere .
As far as your videos , they are fun and great recipes too. Also you don't stand there S L O W L Y chopping onions or slicing potatoes just in case we need a tutorial on it !!!
Yes ma’am I say go with your gut and if you have a GI dr you trust wait for your person! I’ll be praying all goes well and that they solve the mystery of you using blood and repair it.
As far as my videos, I understand people have better things to do than watch me slice and dice veggies 😂 now if someone says how do you do something I’d be happy to explain, but I think most people have it. I know how busy I am and how precious my time is and I try to make smart decisions how I use my spare time and I try to be mindful of that! There’s a product called Carbalose that is supposed to compare to flour they also make Carbquik that compares to Bisquick, I have not personally tried it, I did try almond flour and coconut flour and I didn’t love it, you could make biscuits with the flour as well, it is on Amazon and worth a try, I’ve seen Carbquik in Walmart, I hope this helps, if you try it let me know in case someone else asks 🥰🤗

You can place it in the microwave in your glass measuring cup and save a pan. Takes a few minutes in the microwave.

I also make scratch biscuits the easiest recipe to share is on the back of the White Lily bag, tried and true but these honestly are just as good ! I get the sugar issue though, I’ll bet the gravy could be made low carb but then there’s the biscuits lol 😂 🙈

When I was growing up chocolate gravy was a dessert! Good old hot buttermilk biscuits with chocolate gravy, yummy! My oldest grandson likes chocolate gravy on his pancakes and waffles. It’s delicious! ❤🤗

They don’t eat butterbeans and they pick their cucumbers off the vine when they get real big and have turned white just in general after watching one family for over a year it is so interesting to see how different we eat.
