Nicely done. And so good to see an item NOT go to the fireplace.
You’ll have no trouble sliding a mug of breakfast beer over that lovely table top.
My doctor always gives me grief about breakfast beer, can't drive with shaky hands.
Looks disgustingly good. Fantastic work
Thankyou, i enjoy it everyday!
I agree, revoltingly lovely, makes me sick to me stomach. Horribly perfect!@@BradshawJoinery
Nice job all round, bythe way.
Brilliant job love your attention to detail
I have a very similar table in my kitchen right now. Here in canada thousands of those tables were built out of other repurposed furniture, so the enamel work surface from a hoosier cabinet could be reused. The cabinets themselves wore out but the enamel tops were prized. So the tables were made out of whatever, and usually painted with white enamel.
Nice one. Cheers Jim
Like the De Yobi you are using
Who's your helper ??????.....great recovery here
That came out really nicely. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Nice of Cripps to help out again. Job well done.
A very sympathetic restoration. 👍👍👍
What a lovely job. Biscuit joints reminiscent of Norm Abram and I think I saw a couple of second of Cripps. All the best. Ray 🌞
Nice
That came out really well. When I saw that wavy top at first, I had assumed you were going to have to replace it.
Great job, just love anything like that restoration look's great !!!. 👍👍.
I really like that starting patina.
Love it 👍🏻 I can see a little family sat round that soon 😜
IPA. I actually thought you were referring to beer 😂
Great job Ollie and a great video too. I liked that you kept the 'original' look of the table and let it keep its character. I understand the current trend for flipping furniture and covering it with all sorts of paints but I do prefer the way that you have done it. I guess it fits in with the look/age of your house too?
Nice Job! .......................Cutlery drawer? ............. common enough when I was a kid, ........ opened and closed at least 6 times a day (X 7 days a week etc etc ) ................with heavy cutlery (more than likely EPNS with isn't light)
you brought it back nicely
Lovely job, and nice to watch, as usual. Did you investigate the flight holes for any active woodworm?
Proper wabi sabi table. Great work.
Haven't seen wabi sabi for a good while miss them😮
Thanks for the tip re which adhesives you're currently using, you've become my go-to resource for decent adhesives and sealants. I forget which video it was where you recommended OB1 as a do-it-all paintable and ever-flexible sealant / adhesive, but since picking up a couple of tubes for a stair panel project I have never looked back for those tricky jobs where instant grab or caulk (or silicone!) won't do the job.
Class job . turned out simple but elegant
Nice Job !!!
Nice, did you get the better 3/4ers to help hand sanding, by saying if you want a table it will be much quicker if you lend a hand with the boring bit 😂. Looking for pointers for my good lady
I take it that’s had treatment for woodworm?
Lord knows I made a ton of those as I started out!!! You did a great job the Lady of the house shall be great full for the effort buddy!
PS ; I would give that top exactly what you suggested ?
Supa👍
What is IPA spray?
Brilliant video there the ones your best at taking a sows ear and turning it into a silk purse, BTW who is Cripps ?
Great video, just wondering do dewakt batteries fit ryobi tools ?
you need a Badaptor amzn.to/3PLvn1u
I had one just like that - didn’t fettle it anywhere near as good as you though!
Ben, why PU rather than 'normal' wood glue? Is it just better with slightly gappy joints?
A p'fect restoration
I find that a slight contradiction... you've paid close attention to originality, keeping the wobbly drawer runners but then putting an oak board inside to stop the drawer tipping - totally unoriginal. It looks fabulous though.
What is this IPA?
Done without the aid of a safety net 😅 or should I say all the heavy gear in the workshop. I bet the original builders wish they're had PU glue instead of the animal glue I imagine they used.
👊🫡
Please can you send an Amazon link to your wood filler (the stuff you trowelled on and the Sikkens). I’ll buy it through your affiliate link 👍
