These are tips I wish I learned sooner in my two years on Etsy, and general advice for new stores looking to improve traffic & sales. There is always more information and tips than I can fit into a single video, so please comment any video suggestions or questions below & I will do my best to respond or answer in a future video.

Hi Jessica. Don't worry that's normal. It takes time in the beginning for Etsy to pick you up in the algorithm and make sales. It took me about a month or so to get my first sale. How is it going now for you?

I recently opened a shop selling resin gold flake earrings called Montecarlojewelry!
Is it true that Etsy takes out .20 for each item that you put in your store. Also they take out .20 for each item regardless if there's a sell or not ??
Hi! So they do charge 0.20 for each new listing you post, regardless of whether or not that listing sells. But if the item does not sell, you would not be charged anything else for that listing. They charge you 0.20 again when an item does sell. Hope that helps! For me, their system of fees is still very cost effective compared to other sites that charge monthly rates to keep a shop open, regardless of how many items you sell.
I highly recommend checking next level ninjas for those who want to boost sales. They helped me get reviews organically which led to my sales almost doubling. Also, their panel is easy to use and you have full visibility of the progress of your campaign.

I just made a quirky earring shop called WackyEarringWear! I currently only have one thing listed because it took me a while to set it up and figure it out, but I plan on listing more tomorrow! If any new shop creators want to support each other let me know :)

What is the ideal number of listings to be have on etsy shop for the beginner ??
At least 3-5 so that people can go back to your store if they buy something of yours and like what they see.
Hi Jay! there's no real number of listings but definitely the more you have, the easier people will find you. It also depends on what niche you're in :) what do you sell?
Do you think I should have more than one Etsy store to sell (1) handmade books/journals and inserts using my own
mono prints for decoration and related items, (2) art jewelry (3) silk scarves with coordinating charms, (4) hand sewn one of a kind travel satchels? Or should I have one store with all sorts of things I make?

Depends how established you are; if you already have a following, you can create separate shops and do it like
Deerheart's Books,
Deerheart's Jewelry,
etc.
If you don't -- you may want to consider doing it all in one shop, and then rebranding the one shop later on if I gets too confusing -- this way though, you'll have at least one shop with meaningful traction on the platform in terms of reviews.
I am about ready to drop Etsy as a buyer. I can't find what i'm looking for. What the heck is going on with Etsy. I'll type in "Used Tools," and I get everything but used tools.

Around how many products do you recommend? Would 25 be fine?
Diana Almazan I would like to know that as well. One video I watched said 65 listings, but as a painter, that’s going to take a very long time to get that many listings so I’m like you I’m not sure. I hope your shop is going well!
Hi Diana! There is no exact number for any shop. It definitely helps to have more listings but don't get too caught up on the number. The most important thing is to get started and you will build your shop as you go :) You also don't want to waste too much time in the beginning with many listings that may not sell. So I started my shop with 10-15 items and when I saw what people were purchasing and favouriting, I created more of what was working. Hope that helps!
