Woohoo! You go, girl! As for Etsy, pretty disappointed with all their fees, and what I feel, is a more capitalistic frame-of-mind, instead of gearing the page to small, handmade creators.
I agree it has definitely turned that way as it has grown and worked to keep up with the major competitors. It’s definitely tough because they were founded for those small handmade makers!
I sell bespoke cosplays(costumes and props) on Etsy and found that their shipping is no different than just going to the Post Office. The only benefit is with international, I like how they do the customs paperwork.
Etsy is good because it has built-in traffic that will bring sales to your shop. With Shopify, you have to do the work to bring the people to you. Etsy is a great place to start
Interesting & informative. Correction: at 3:15 you say if you had 4 listings & nothing sold, Etsy would charge you .80 cents at the end of the month--it's .20 per listing for Four Months to list an item. TFS!
Great video, very different thinking on the ethics of how people will recognize your brand and the competition, still figuring out which to start with, but think Etsy will be cool to start.
