sonic boom was bought and returned in 24hrs. that bonus disc was like a kick in the nuts after getting robbed.
I remember my local Walmart had a stack of Sonic Boom for sale when it first came out. And they didn't sell. A few years later you could find copies of Sonic Boom in the five dollar CD bin.
Something funny to note, they went back to Detroit twice during "The End of the Road" tour, so i believe you when you say they came back lol

Bottom five Kiss album easy. Trying to recreate the 70s and they fell flat on their face,
The gap of eleven years?!?? WTF did KISS think they were? The Grateful Dead where they don't make albums but go out on tour anyway? Seemed like it to me.
It's a decent effort (musically) a with some half-assed results (especially for the vocal refrain and lack of coolness from Gene on his tracks, except for I'm An Animal as you pointed out). I seemed to be in the minority, but I really dig Danger Us - love the way that riff and drum beat bounce and pull back at each other, yeah the chorus word-play is cheesy, but Paul puts a lot of conviction into his vocal and it works for me I guess.
i love KISS (for the most part), have since i was a kid and yet i don’t think i’ve heard one note of any song on this album & it doesn’t sound like i’m missing anything haha…your reviews of albums you don’t like are always hilarious, you rule Dr. Fukk!! 🤘🏼
Bought it at Walmart as well and returned after 1st listen.
I understand the criticism this album receives, but it's almost a top 10 KISS record for me. I remember going to Walmart at midnight and having a guy go in the back to get me a copy because they weren't on the shelves yet. Even though like 80% of the songs start off with the same intro, there's something inescapable for me for about half the record. Stand is crap, Never Enough is a little limp, and the chorus of Danger Us is ridiculous. But, most of the rest of the record is fun if not pretty great.

What made it even worse is the fact that only Walmart could sell actual copies of the album. Another brain dead idea by Gene, I can bet.

I must confess I liked Sonic Boom a lot but only because I really didn't think they would release a new album ever again. It was a huge surprise for me and maybe it affected my judgment. My mistake was that I bought a ticket to their show in Leipzig... ma gosh, that sucked on so many levels...
"Mr. D's" first KISS vinyl purchase in 2010, shortly after attending an Alive 35 concert in late 2009. I learned about this album at that show. That said, I dig only two tracks (Say Yeah, and Modern Day Delilah). The rest are meh. They're not really growing on me. Fun video, regardless, Doc! SHMACKEMAGOB!

I was never more disappointed in a KISS album. After the first listen, I thought, "well at least there's a bonus CD of classics" and much to my surprise, sucked even worse. If it wasn't for, "Modern Day Delilah," this album would be worse than, "Crazy Nights," in my opinion.
Cheater Criss 😅 that always kills me. I was 100% in on this at the time. Saw the tour, was forcing myself to "get in line" with "KISS" after checking out when they didnt use new makeup for Eric/Tommy (It STILL makes zero sense and all Paul's gaslighting about "giraffee boy" is annoying...) Saw Alive 35/Monster and then came to my senses 😅 Im a slow learner.
this ,crazy nights and hot in the shade are the worst.theres only about 3 songs from those 3 albums that dont suck bad.
I don't hear a similarity between "Nothing But A Good Time" and "Never Enough". "Never Enough" is different, but it's dynamic and energy remind me of "Start Me Up" from the Rolling Stones. The Poison guys are singing like school-boys👶. No comparison to Paul's🎤 masculine high energy vocals. Even if there is a similarity, Poison played a KISS song in their video.
Maybe they had an agreement.

At the same time I really don't get why you love "Monster" so much :) I mean you like the same 3 songs I like from "Sonic Boom", so our tastes are not too far from each other. And I think each and every song from "Monster" is a spin-off of "Danger Us" or "Stand". Same quality, same level of "work", just some kind of a "How to write a generic rock song in 2 minutes" course.

I actually thought this was ok until I heard Tommy singing about Electricity, I was embarrassed to be a KISS fan at that moment. If Tommy had electrocuted himself on the railing in Hollywood, Florida I'd be able to understand BUT IT WAS ACE FREHLEY WHO WAS ELECTROCUTED. That was lame, real lame. I turned off the cd player & I don't know how long it was before I finished listening to the rest of the album.

Yeah I Agree with you. I didn’t Really like this Album. I only liked a few songs on it . I wanted to hear Tommy how he played on a KISS album. It’s not bad. But you’re right? He plays like Ace Frehley. If you are going to play on a KISS Album. Have your own Style. Don’t copy someone else.

The lyrics ruin any semblance of a decent riff on this record. A couple of the intros are okay then the singing starts and it's over.
I don't really like the few last albums.
I never like to see and hear them with FAKE Ace. Tommy should had stay with Black n' Blue. Copy cat at least Eric play well

I’m comin’ to the defense of Sonic Boom! Never Enough does have the one Poison similar riff but otherwise solid. Russian Roulette would be better without Genes’s stupid verses. Ok it’s not great but better than Crazy Nights or HitS.

Danger Us is the worst KISS song ever. At least Read My Body, When Your Walls Come Down, and Bang Bang You are cringey and funny. Danger Us is just cringey

I got this album free years ago on a sale at my cd store. Buy three used cds and the fourth one is free. I have only listened to it once Not for me. . I still haven't listened to the bonus CD. I refuse to. In my opinion Sonic Boom is the worst Kiss album.. Not one song caught my ear.
Good album but I don't go crazy for it. Modern Day Delilah is really the only exceptionally good song on the album.
Half of the album is good the rest are horrible . Other than the 3 you put at top Hot and Cold and Yes I Know .
There is nothing I liked on Sonic Boom, I do like Monster.

This is definitely not the worst kiss album but it's one of the worst ones I like it better than psycho circus and carnival of souls, in my opinion the worst KISS ALBUM and probably the worst album ever made Music from The Elder l fucking hate every song on that album.
Hot space by Queen is close to the worst album ever made by a good band. A complete failure and dud songs.
Just when I thought I couldn't sour on Ace any more than I already have, he started a Trump chant at his last show lol. Ace has gone full Ted Nugent, except he's a way worse guitarist than Nuge.
