For those concerned about the microphone quality: there is a significant improvement at 3:15:44 and onward. The Force Unleashed Retrospective was my first video and I didn't pay enough attention to audio quality. By the time I got to the DLC and sequel there is a significant bump in quality.
I always loved how in the first game while you're still working as Vader's apprentice, his briefing for every mission he sends you on is basically some variation of "this Jedi is far more powerful than you and you will not survive." Definitely the Sith School of Employee Motivation there.
I interpret Vader betraying him twice to lure the rest of the leaders out and partially his fear of Sidious in some form. As for Kota purposely lying to Galen, I interpret this as a test to see where his merit truly lies. Also this is so clean dude: 3:07:46
1:00:11: He force pushed you, which deals some damage, but you were right against one of the fake council that explodes when damaged, so you took damage from hitting them, presumably damage from them ragdolling into you (since they had no other way to go) and then exploding on you Not exactly broken, just a lot of really hilariously bad luck Also: damn dude... You sure suffered in that bit with basic platforming and enemy fighting! That was so funny! I also happen to end up dying in that part on almost every playthrough, though that's mostly because I forget what I learned not to do in it every time I replay. Also: the animation you get when destroying the At-Ats is based on how you delivered the last damage to them, giving you the impression that it's a continuation of how you fought it. If you mostly fight it using the force, you're more likely to have dealt the last damage with a force power, which triggers the crushing animation, if you last damaged it with the light saber then you get the Cut in Half animation Also also: you missed a Holocron in the Tie Fighter Wing elevator section, if you stay on the wings as they rise you can see a third level of platforms where you can get the Holocron.
Around 2:17:55 to explain why her lightsabers are red I don't know if this was in legends but in Cannon those who turned to the dark side have the ability to bleed their kyber crystals red (basically pouring all their hate and anger into a blue or green kyber Crystal) we see this happen in the Darth Vader comic so it is possible Maris had regular blue lightsaber tonafs and just bled them red after her masters death.
Actually. Just want to clarify. In TFU Starkiller is found on Kashyyyk Vader was impressed that his saber was able to be pulled out of his hand to begin with. letalone by a child.
The proof of concept for the people at Respawn being able to competently handle TFU was near the end of Survivor's playtime. Unleashed being a linear hack n' slash isnt the focus. That type of gameplay lends itself to what it is: a power fantasy, with its story being at the center of attention. Respawn would more effectively be able to handle the duels, and they've shown that they know how to balance large creatures, the impact of heavy blows, and large numbers of enemies vs exceptional skill/power. The only real design focus would be less on the zero-to-hero dark souls formula (introducing the power fantasy), and alter how Galen moves to be lighter, more agile than Cal. With the amount of locations, assets and varying gameplay at their disposal from just the first TFU, i feel they'd be able to open up the linearity while keeping the core of the series intact, or even thriving.
I love these games, at first I was kinda confused because I started with FUII, seeing as my dad just picked it up at GameStop and couldn’t beat the giant monster that Kota fought
2:50:52 and even if you wanna say that they plan to kill Starkiller in a hypothetical where he remains on the emperor's side, they apparently choose to break the rule of two anyways by making the Inquisitors who are already jedi children trained to use the dark side so the only reason they would have to betray Starkiller is a reason that they themselves go back on anyways
1:01:37: In this part you can still damage him pretty easily, while he now blocks your force lightning, you're meant to use the environment to your advantage. Surrounding the Fake council chamber there is a ever refilling orbiting line of flying junk, amongst which is a sparking bit of debris. Those sparking bits explode when tossed at someone and deal a lot of damage to the boss. Something you seem to be missing is how every boss's defeat strategy is taught earlier by fighting the "mini-boss" and their main soldiers. Kota is the starter boss and weak to everything just like his soldiers, Kazdam is weak to lightning and tossed objects like his "robots" and so on Though I think lightning is just super effective against everyone? Bit of a balancing issue there I suppose. Most bosses can be beat by using the downwards lightning enhanced slash combo, which stuns them for a bit with the lightning and let's you pile on more hits. It's pretty broken once you get into the proper swing of it and can slide from combo to combo without letting the enemies get a break.
48:43: actually, those flying Skiffs keep respawning, so you can easily complete the side objective just by destroying them first and last in every encounter.
I played the fu2 on mouse and keyboard and during the gorog fight, I didn't have the wrist restraint issue, i would spam E and it would rapid fire the force push.

Bold of you to make a retrospective longer than the actual two games combined
So bold they're naming a Batman movie after me

This Game was Just amazing.... Every thought about it, Puts a Smile on my face😊

In legends red lightsaber crystals used to be synthetic instead of natural kyber
1:15:00 those are ironically called mantas in wookieepedia, loving this video! subbed!
This is amazing just found this vid by chance can't wait to watch it all

A force unleashed sequel or remake with Jedi Survivor gameplay would be a dream come true
Fuck no. It doesn't need that gameplay at all. Doesn't mesh with the idea.
A remake that keeps the gameplay would be better. Survivor is a different genre.

Always wished we got a Tràkata form user, i know its too op and forbidden but IT WOULD BE SICK.
Algorithm might love you my friend (subbed)
I remember watching the preview on my star wars psp on my copy of battlefront. It was amazing lol.
I love these games, at first I was kinda confused because I started with FUII, seeing as my dad just picked it up at GameStop and couldn’t beat the giant monster that Kota fought
I actually recommend the ps2 version. The last gen version of this game is pretty good and plays somewhat differently.
Fun Fact the PSP Wii and PS2 Versions have better dialogue and imo Set Pieces

2:34:10 dude, I wish I could have seen your face when you made this noise 😭🤣

Five minutes old? Dang, I'm down bad for content 😩
Damn, I'm not sleeping tonight
What's the phrase? "Absolute cinema"?
This video is longer than the second game lol you don't need 6 hours to talk about these games lol
But I wanted to
Good shit to sleep too man
It's as long as it needs to be. He could have gone deeper if he wanted.
