Thanks for making this excellent video tutorial. I have just received the plans and today ordered the sails. Your film, which I have viewed all the way through, is going to be of enormous help. Best wishes Mick
Ammonia helps to bend wood in modelling Mr K.
I suspect Windex contains some ammonia.
Care needed , as Ammonia can stain the wood .No big deal when painting a hull I guess.
5 - 20% Ammonia to water ratio.
Exactly. Thanks for watching.
What a great video 👍. Not only is it very informative, you don’t hide the mistakes we all make. Good video quality and editing as well. 👍
Thank you and thanks for watching!
In addition to the main feature, I enjoyed the musical soundtrack.
Thank you.
fantastic project. I assume you shaped the keel weight/bulb with files, sandpaper etc. How did you safely control/collect the lead dust and filings?
I just filed over a garbage can. Nothing fancy and probably not as safe as the EPA would want.
When I was a kid my dad would fix our steel plumbing with lead. He showed me how you could float rocks on the molten let. In high school science class we all got to play with mercury and see how it would make a dime shine.
Thanx for showing how you made the little wild duck. I liked it.
Greetings, Fred
Thanks for posting this. Classy boat ! I know it takes a lot of effort to put the video together. I always enjoy seeing what others are doing.
Thanks for watching. Appreciate the positive feedback.
Nice boat
Thanks for watching!!!
An impressive work of art as well as a great rc project.
Thank you.
Currently building my own Wild Duck and must say this tutorial video was great to be able to reference the build as it progressed. I did use tracing paper before on another boat build as that to didn't have any hull templates. I did have some issue with the stringers lining up even though I cut out the frame very carefully they did seem to want to form a nice curve . I'm at the point now of cutting it from the build board and then tackling the upper deck stuff and cabin and looking to do similar with the cabin top lifting off in one piece. thanks again for sharing you video.
Thanks for watching. I'd love to see any pictures you have of your build and your first sail.
@@MrKayFisher I only have a few of the hull so far, not sure how to post pictures on here though . 😕

What a beautiful boat you did a great job designing and building it. Thanks for making the plans available.
Beautiful!
Thanks. I just changed the Jib to be taller and fit better. Thanks for watching.
The ammonia in windex helps the wood be more flexible
Yes, I only wish Windex cleaned windows better!!
Yes a real one kept on the Thames at Erith EYC
A friend of mine how has sadly died had one as well. We sailed the east coast. His boat was called whisper
I would love to see some pictures of it.
I have been in full size boats that were not half as sturdy as this model.
I owned a wild duck called Tarka
A Real full sized one?
You built my design far to heavy I'm afraid 😢😢
Sails pretty well.
@@MrKayFisher YM Eventide next plan for Model Boats Magazine 😃
Nice model shame about the paint job
