When I was a teenager - 15years ago -, I would've sold a kidney for a phone with that kind of functionality. Internet on the go? MP3, youtube. Just bought one online for 29,99 because my fifth smartphone broke down on me in 7 years. It's ridiculous how much money we spend on phones. Especially considering that the usually last 2 years max.
The only playlist available are Most played and recently added. Other KaiOS phones with newer versions of KaiOS can create your own playlist such as the Nokia 2720 Flip, Nokia 6300 and 8000 and probably the Nokia 800 tough.

The speed seems to be good. Reliable as well. Multiple devices can be tethered at the same time. This will obviously drain the battery quicker. Dedicated MiFi routers last between 6 - 8 hours, this phone will easily beat that.

@@nicklarenfr I have tried the 8110, 2720 and Energizer. They all perform quite well. I timed the 8110 with 8 devices connected and it ran for around 9 hours as a hotspot. The 2720 has a bigger screen and big keyboard. I think the Energizer is slightly faster and the battery last longer. For some reason I prefer the 8110 especially for one hand use. The 2720 has KaiOS v2.5.2 whilst the Energizer has 2.5.1.1 and the 8110 has 2.5.1. If you want to install Google Duo voice and video calls only the 8110 can do this. This is my observations from UK handsets.

I think the Nokia will be better because of the call quality will be much better if past Nokia's like the 8110 and 2720 are to go by. The volume is relatively quiet on the E241S

Hard to give an outright win. The Energizer. It has a later version of KaiOS which allows you to add words to the predictive input. Better version of RUclips. It also has a selfie camera. Battery life seems better. Keyboard a bit more responsive. The 8110 has superior rear camera and the ability to download Google Duo.
Got my device today.. to update on this question.. it seems this device doesn’t support smart search in contacts.. like when u type on keyboard in home screen, only number gets smart search, name doesn’t gets smart searched like in android, though this smart search option from keypad isn’t supported in iPhone..
WhatsApp on KaiOS does not have voice call :-( Battery on this phone last about 3 days with frequent messages and normal voice calls. I also use the phone as an MP3 player regularly.
I personally would choose the Energizer E241S as there are reports of the Alcatel s failing. The Energizer has a selfie camera but it's cameras are very poor.
Can this phone be used for voice calls on a network without 2G and only 3G/4G on Etisalat, U.A.E . I got Nokia 220 4G phone and although it features 4G and VoLTE, it does not work on Etisalat yet while there is no 2G signals, even though it received full signals with 4G written at the top.. I would now like to replace it with this very phone (E241S). Can someone confirm to me that it may be used for the purpose I have mentioned above?
Keith Bartlett thank you for responding Keith. When you say it works fine on 3G, does it mean that you can make or receive calls while it’s on 3G and it has 3G written at the top, or does it switch to 2G to receive or make phone calls? I ask this because that’s what happens with Nokia 220 4G that I got, whereby, it receives 4G signals all the time and when I have to make a call or when somebody tries to call me, it switches automatically to 2G to allow voice communication wherever 2G is available and where there is no 2G connectivity as in the scenario I am on, I cannot make or receive calls and the caller receives a usual ‘out of coverage’ message and it exits the call without succeeding when I try making a call on that device.
@@hishamabdulnisar4018 At the moment someone else is borrowing my Energizer. I'm quite sure it reverts to 3G on calls. The same thing happens on my Nokia 8110 4G. When I can confirm I will reply again.
Hi. This phone like all phones running KaiOS doesn't support video calling in Whatsapp or Facebook. Some KaiOS phones do have Google Duo though which does work. Apparently this may be released to more KaiOS powered phones in the future. Though I would never recommend buying a phone on a promised update as it may never happen. Google Duo does prove that the hardware and OS is capable of video calling. Hopefully Whatsapp will update as well.
Not at the moment as the app has been removed from the KaiOS store. For those that got it at the time it does. Hopefully it will be back when Google update it.

If used mainly for occasional calls and text about 4 days easily. Start watching RUclips clips, MP3 player and browsing perhaps 2 days. If you use as a hotspot then about 10 hours, which is good as I have a Huawei MiFi unit and that last 6 hours. These are my results
Go to settings > network & connectivity > internet sharing > WiFi hotspot and turn on. Then scroll down and make a note of the password and Name of the phones hotspot. You can customise this if you want to.
@@keithbartlett8926 I bought the 3G version a month ago, and while WhatsApp certainly works, I have noticed that it receives new messages on a random basis or whenever I open the app... I have solved it by cleaning up the memory and opening again WhatsApp... Do you know if this issue is present in your phone as well? It is quite troublesome, and I don't know if it depends on the KaiOS version or not.

WiFi rock solid. Bluetooth seems to work okay. I don't use Bluetooth that much though

Not that I know of. Google Duo is available for some KaiOS phones but not this one.

Avenir Telecom make the phones with Energizer branding. Like HMD Global make the Nokia branded phones now.

I put my mp3s onto an MicroSD card and use the built in music player.

Not on KaiOS devices. If you have CD collection and rip them to MP3 you can put them on to a microSD card in the phone. 32GB will store loads

I would contact Energizer to confirm. The phone itself can work on 3G where I live. Perhaps ask on the Reddit/KaiOS group.

@@hishamabdulnisar4018 If your network supports Volte it will switch to that. Otherwise 3G. Phone works with HD calling network dependant.

Yes but only SIM card 1 works in 4G.

Yes this phone does. Remember only sim card slot 1 supports 4G (LTE) data. Sim slot 2 only 2G
