Yeltsin organised an illegal meeting with the other leaders of the Republics of the USSR and talked about splitting up, which was illegal. There were other ways, how to do it without violating the constitution of the USSR, but it happened in the illegal way. The KGB told Gorbatschov about the illegal meetings of Yeltsin and about the plans. And instead of arresting Yeltsin for that, or kicking him out of the party, he just said on the TV, that he is not going to be the General Secretary anymore. Gorbatschov was a traitor, not because he gave Germany the chance to reunify. He is a traitor, because he did on purpose reforms, which destroyed the USSR more, than Chruchews reforms. If you look at the inflation rate or at the Gold reserves, you will notice, that during Gorbatschov, these numbes got much much worse. And during Yeltsin this continued ..... Gorbatschov acted in the interest of the US and was payed for this job (prices, etc ....)
