- Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways.
Coming up in this program we are at our friends over at The Severn Valley Railway during their Santa Specials.
My original plan earlier on the morning of this day was to get Tyseley's ex GWR Castle 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe while the Earl worked The Christmas White Rose from Tyseley to York.
Sadly though due to Cross Country being on strike it was cancelled. So it was decided to head straight off to The Severn Valley Railway earlier than planned.
We spend the entire filming at Kidderminster seeing the santa trains from the footbridge over looking the heritage station & the mainline station & also at the car park next to The Miniature Railway.
The locomotives in action on this day were.
Ex BR Standard 4 tank 80072 on winter hire to the railway from The Llangollen Railway till April 2018
Ex GWR Pannier tank 7714 on station pilot duties & being the relief engine.
Ex BR built Ivatt mogul or known as the Flying Pig 43106
Ex GWR Manor 7802 Bradley Manor
& the 2 ex Southern Railway rebuilt Bullied Pacific's West Country 34027 Taw Valley & Battle of Britain 34053 Sir Keith Park.
This filming was more spectacular as after snow had fallen the day before & with perfect sunshine on the day of my visit its was memorable.
We see the Santa specials in & out of the station despite running over 30 mins late due to frozen points in Arley & Bewdley.
All the locos worked brilliantly through out the day.
Big thanks to the Severn Valley for putting on a great Christmas Show of steam.

Nice intro. I like the way it shows you all different types of steam trains. 7714 is in my opinion the closest resemblance to Duck.

Well done on filming at SVR last weekend. You covered a lot of activity in Kidderminster. It was a great opportunity to video in the snow.
Thanks for that. This was my 1st opportunity of seeing steam in the snow for nearly 2 years & with the sun out at the right time it was perfect.
