At this point of time I did not meant to say that JEE and NEET exams are totally based on Rattafication or Rotelearning.
I wanted to say that in these exams there is no provision for practical research etc
For eg. In foreign universities you will have to score good but that's not all you need you will also need to have some research or practical based background
Things you have done in past on ground not only in classroom
Thats what i wanted to say
And because these exams are totally based on classroom work, our private schools only focus on classrooms.
    Hope you understand
If didn't, then kindly ignore that line 👍🙏

India mei bhi there are some degrees that require you to score well even in practical tests but here's the twist- the ratio is 60:40 meaning 60 marks for theory and 40 for practical test. If you fail in either of them you get a backlog (ATKT) but yet another twist, even in practical they make you rote learn about 10-15 practicals within like 2 days or so.

Being from a private school i can confirm how serious this topic actually is. These schools are violating basic rights of students and our innocent parents dont even understand it. Especially the hairstyle part, okay, i get that youre supposed to be in school so u should have a decent hairstyle, but according to these school, a “decent” hairstyle is a bowlcut for boys and braided hair for girls. Tell me, how are we gonna get the confidence we need in ourselves while we look like that? I got punishment in school just because i had a half ponytail (if you dont know what a half ponytail is, its for girls with short hair: the top half is tied into a pony and the bottom half is left like that) and when i got punishment, i asked the teacher: “i dont have any bangs which cover my eyes or block my eyesight, my hairs are properly tied back and i have a proper uniform along with a proper white hairband, so why should i get a punishment?” and the teacher said “i dont know.”
Another problem about these schools is the favortism. Our class prefect (the leader) has stayed the same throughout 3 years. You may think its bc shes worthy of it but no: she doesnt get good marks, she can barely handle the class, she isnt the best in english or speaking skills and also the fact that she isnt even present in the class when its necessary. She has constant arguments with the students instead of working in a team and she does favortism.
Oh and the english speaking! How can i forget that. Our school has put up fines (₹100) if we speak in hindi. The thing is that even if we do not speak in hindi, we're not learning any english. Only a few students are capable of being able to speak properly, as u can see i have a pretty good english, but i have learnt all of this purely by myself. The school plays no role in it.

As a 19 year old college student, I can definitely agree.... When I was in 7th class, our principal announced a shitty rule in which you can't ask any type of questions during the class.... Secondly, our teachers used to apply an enormous amount of hair oil if we come here without applying the oil, which used to make our skin oily and pimple-prone .... I was like, "Are they gonna kill us with these laws?".... Private schools seriously suck....🙁🙁🙁

Damn really? I studied in a private school too ( cbse ) I graduated from that he// a decade ago but I have never seen anywhere students given penalty for not speaking in English. You could've contacted the child helpline and let the media know how sh!t your school is. I mean we pay them to help us enlighten but they act like they have full control over us like our parents do.
I hold a lot of traumatic memories from school too. The only way to heal is to get therapy, forget them and focus on better future. I hold no grudges against people who hurt me in the past as I have chosen the path of forgiveness which is something most people can't do because the trauma and pain doesn't let them.

Moreover, students are not allowed to drink water during lectures. I've read many times that water is essential for proper congnitive function, and good cognitive function will be beneficial in lectures, learning and studying. We've been learning since childhood and from science textbooks about staying hydrated. Plus, being thirsty distracts and diverts the attention to getting a chance to drink water instead of focussing on the lecture.

    It's completely true
    I studied in a ICSE co-ed school ( kolkata) from class 9th-10th
so I have my brother he also study's with me in same school
    he was in 9th & I was in 10th
so as a girl we have the independence of doing any kind of hairstyle (but it should be braids)
But for boys there are very strict restrictions on hairstyles boys should cut their hairs very small
In short - hero banne ki koshish matt kro bewakoof dikhne chahiye....
& if a boy is caught with hairstyle then fistrly teacher's will scold you then disrespect you & then even if they are not satisfied they will cut your hair from trimmer in front of whole school & after this you are not able to show your face to anyone ( you are looking very bad)
This same thing happened with my brother a teacher caught him & cut his hair from trimmer that day my brother came home crying......
He's still studying in that school but now he's used to that....
    But I left that school

    • @kdjoshi726

Bruh I was from a girl's-only government school and we had strict restriction on our hairstyle. Always two sided, with a middle partition, compulsorily double folded braids with our school uniform's matching ribbon- red. And god forbid if you didn't tie your hair in a braid or without a ribbon- they'll disrespect you in front of whole classroom oor if they see your braid not tied with our ribbon and two-folded, they'll make you tie it with a jute rope (or as we call it in marathi- sutali which is a thick rope that folks here use to tie up grain sacks. Yahi rassi khaat banane mei bhi use hoti hai) how ridiculous was that!
Agar kisi ladki k baal chhote ho toh wo apni braids ko double fold karke tie hi nahi kar sakti wo sirf lambe baalon walon k liye compulsory hota hai yet our teachers would make them tie their braids in double fold which was illogical af

I'm writing this as someone who studied in private school of india, as a child I was really happy and charismatic around others but this didn't stay the same for long. my teachers used to humiliate me infront of other students and it caused me social anxiety, being scared of humiliation i used to skip school even if that meant sleeping in the bathroom while my family is mad at me for not going to school, the teachers used to send my classmates at my home to call me. it was nothing but a torture for me every single year.. even when i was in a better surrounding after 9th grade, it didn't change much. the pressure was the same and i was as suicidal as i was before.. if not more.
I'm really glad i made it to college alive, but there aren't many like me.. i myself have tried suicide attempts so imagine how many kids do suicide because of this... yet its futile.

Unfortunately this is the harsh reality of schools in India..
There was an instance when I was suspended for holding my hands in my pockets, using the washroom too often (walking in the corridor) and was framed for disrespecting the teachers and disturbing the class as the coordinator had an issue with me.. as I was the only one raising my voice against this prison like environment (the entire class was scared) the principal literally almost made my mum tear up.. even tho my parents protested and even requested against this I was suspended for a week..
The school is so disgusting that they send students home for the silliest reasons such as hair, not wishing teachers and speaking with people from other classes.. It got so worse that the management instructed the girls to buy shirts and trousers a few sizes bigger and prevented them from wearing shorts as it was “morally inappropriate“.
Taking into consideration that it’s one of the best schools in Bangalore and despite being in 12th we weren’t treated that way..
it’s horrendous to convert a school into a prison.

I really want to share about my experience in school.. I'm from kolkata soo I read in private school from class 1 to 4 ... So in this school there is a typical rules like no one can go to toilet in class time and also you should be in proper uniform like there are many rainy days where the school area is in water .. but school wants every student wear the shoe and socks likee bruhhh.. one time i have to wear a wet socks the whole time cause of rain ... They will not allow a rainy day off or something... Also one thing they will make us stand the whole time when the teacher was not there like wtf is that I didn't understand on this time what was that but now i feel it's wrong.. they think that the students are distributing soo if they stand the whole time when teacher are not in the class then they wouldn't scream.. it happened between 2 periods likee I don't who came up with this rule to make students stand the whole time .. and monitor will check their name who can't stand .. and absolutely you will get punishment if you didn't.....
    There are many more actually

there are so many things fundamentally wrong with our education system as a whole and im glad you touched on it. i would love to give my own opinions about the topics too!
    1. the most insane of all facts is how students aren't allowed to cooperate with each other and form their own views and thoughts. they have to listen to the teachers at all costs, and if you even slightly express your hesitation at their orders, you're 'an undisciplined child' who doesn't 'obey his elders'. its frustrating. first they treat children to only always listen to authority figures, and then when the child grows into an adult, he doesn't know how to _be_ an authority figure by himself.
    2. the monotone uniforms and strict dress regulations. like, no. just no. they say they do it to prepare us to be 'formal for real life' but are women supposed to go to office with braids? no! the stiff uniform is also never comfortable enough to spend 6 hours a day everyday in! i sometimes do want to try sports in school, but the uniform wouldn't let me. besides, the dull gray colors of the uniform has always felt like a symbol of prison to me (or maybe its just the writer in me speaking). moreover, feeling and looking good always enhances a person's confidence in themselves.
    3. about your point of regional language, well i think that their intentions are good, but the way they're persuing it is not. at the age of 6, i picked up books and fell in love. today, at 17years old, i am a fluent speaker and an aspiring writer. however, as good as i am at english, almost as bad am i at hindi and communication with my peers. the way they teach either english or hindi, is stupid. no one gets better at any language by learning the definitions of 'verbs' and 'adjectives' and 'nouns', they do it by being exposed to that language. i have so much to say about this, but i have more topics so ill let go
    4. i really liked your point about intergender communication, because I've hardly seen it being called out anywhere else. a lack of such interactions causes a gap in between the genders. people don't know a single speck of how different the other person's life is, and such can cause a lack of empathy in them.
    5. overall, i think what India really needs is not a reform, but a revolution. i hope their are more people who spread awareness and attention on this topic.

as someone from a private school, i can totally agree, when i was in sixth, one boy asked our maths teacher (our most hated teacher among everyone) to go to the washroom but the teacher denied his request, and then he went number 1 in the class and even worse, after holding it in for 2 hours straight, he had developed a disease as well, after he did his business IN THE CLASS, the teacher TOOK HIM TO THE PRINCIPAL that got him literally EXPLELLED from the school! and these teachers and parents blame it on us when we dont get above 90, when the teachers are yapping on about their missing dog from 5 years ago instead of teaching.

Even tho I study in a public school, I still face this in my school like one time I was builled badly by a kid who was considered "special", I was a lot sensitive at that time, so I informed this to my class teacher, my bus incharge and my mom but none of them did anything about it, eventually that kid went to a another bus on his own and he didn't face any actions, another example is that in my class, the people who don't speak in english are told that "Either talk in english or don't talk at all" and then they expect the children to be good in hindi. also the fees is so high that my mother tries to pay it in time!!

I still remember how both male and female teachers used to thrash boys for misbehaving or caught talking to another classmate for whatever reason, they didn't care, 15-16 slaps like a machine gun, one after the another, and then made them stand for the entire period with their hands straight up. While no teacher touched female students, for anything, max was some old female teachers verbally said something to them. Boys take the backseats, girls in the front. Whenever furnitures needed to be moved for some functions or exams, only boys were called to do it. Even in markings for exams they showed favoritism to girls. And this was one of the most prestigious schools in the city, a Christian School with ICSE board. We were just little kids, and treated as disposables by the teachers.

    • @theblueheart199
      @theblueheart199 3 месяца назад +3

that is so true, and i say this as a feminist. in India, we really need to stop glorifying the gap between boys and girls. it is always the boys who get harsher punishments in school, and it is of no doubt that this may cause the boys to disdain girls. i don't know about your point about boys always taking the backseat, since in my class it was the boys who always took the best seats near the window (not saying it didn't happen at your class, because it's definitely believable), however, i have slightly different thoughts about teachers telling boys to move furniture, since in my little girly heart, it meant that the teachers thought that boys were stronger than us, thus enforcing societal expectations from both genders. well, in any case, i agree with you at most points; education system really needs a change.

So many things to keep in mind “Am I too casual? Too close? Are they comfortable? Will the school allow?"

I was in a Rajasthan government school, and in our school, most of the teachers were very helpful. They encouraged all students to participate in curricular activities and state competitions. However, I attended a private school from nursery to 7th grade, and that was torture. In 4th grade, one of the teachers made my ear bleed with her nails.
But I disagree with the statement that one can pass the IIT JEE by rote learning. That's bullsh*t. My brother is an IIT 2024 pass-out, and I'm also in IIT, but while preparing, we never blindly memorized things (rataa). All my batchmates also understood the concepts because the JEE syllabus is so vast that you can't rely on rote learning; you have to clear the concepts as you go along.
I'm not the smartest guy who has been a topper since childhood like Sharma ji's child. I was the dumbest student until 10th grade and average until 11th. I started my preparation in 12th and cleared JEE.

This video needs to reach more audiance, I would request everyone to please share this video as much as you can! Each point raised by this channel is so true, glad to see atleast someone has audacity to speak against this generational oppression in schools. Idk about govt schools but private ones are the worst hell that no student would ever want to experience in million dreams. That useless rote learning concept, treating students like slaves, caste discrimination and bullying culture are some of things I've faced myself as a student because of which I stubbornly wanted to change the school at any cost after 8th was done and guess what? That led me to a new school which wasn't private school as far as I remember (not sure actually) but to my surprise, that school was so much better than my previous so called private school however due to some reason I dropped out that school after first semester and after that I never joined school again, didn't even continue from open university and all and now I think it worked as a blessing in disguise for me cuz I was never interested in studies at all, it'd always been a headache for me and being a highschool dropout doesn't mean we can't be successful in life. My parents literally just wrote me off after my decision of never joining school again cuz they still think that formal education from school is the only key to secure our future but that day is not so far when I'll prove them wrong. Our parents are literally the last generation that blindly believes we can get a good wealthy life only by having a degree in hands completely ignoring the fact that 45% of indian graduates are unemployed and rest of them are underemployed with the exception of only few who actually got some benefit from that so called degree.

Times passed and when I was studying in 8th grade right before covid, a new principal came and abolished Break times. So we had to stick to our rooms. Now, my cousins study in the same school and it has now become even more strict and punishes for little things and has massive list of rules and the same goes for junior colleges. Its sad how the "improvement" in academics of a school leads to mental pressure of students but I was lucky enough to enjoy it and pass out.

We day scholars almost never know when some competition or event is happening, boarders are always selected where we don't even have a chance to participate. We can only take part in minor things only when it is obligatory for them to include us. The principal would just come on stage and give a speech about how all students are equal and the management continues to neglect us. There are no strict punishment for boarders but they make our lives hell. Once a boarder hit a day scholar in his eyes which even caused some damage to the victim who didn't come to school for several days, but no strict action action taken... Too long a rant ig...

And then Around the end of may was my first day at the School
I thought that okay this school is an Hour away
But lets hope the school is good
And yeah I was very very very Wrong
    At the first day
My classmates told me a fact that made me go nuts
This School offers Tuitions after school
And they tried to force the parents into taking those
Or if we dont want the tuitions then atleast pay for it
    Else they tried failing us
I would not beleive that at all
    But Boy they were right
    I was already very nervous
that I joined 1 and a half months late and they had their 1st term exam in June 14
I had barely 2 weeks to prepare
I almost wanted to cry and all But I abused my body and still gave my best shot
But yeah as those students said
They did fail me in Physics
And for some really unsignificant mistakes
Like there was a question and the answer to it was 'Mass of Substance'
I wrote it as 'Mass of SunstanCe'
And this so called physics teacher cut it out like WTF
I still took that bitterness and remained calm And I was sure my parents would understand
But yeah After all I heard from my parents
Im not ashamed to say That I want them DEAD and out of my life.......
    (Sorry for going offtopic)
    But there was more
Their good for nothing playground required construction repairs and all of that
But They expect us to donate money for it
Not that its a Bad thing
But U are not meant to manipulate and Guilt trip us to Give money
and One line that really showed their disgust
'For those who did not pay Please Dont play here as you dont deserve it'
I cant recall the full line though but yeah
SO THEY MEAN that The students paid you 70000 Annual FEE
and you are bossing us like that
Why the hell did u take this much fee then
Plus this school also violates CBSE Guidelines
that for 45 students there should be 1 teacher
Firstly there is only one class for 11
    No 11B 11C
even after taking about 4 Crores of annual fee
And then THERE are 96 students in 1 class
    96 students
and the rows were so long 11 Benches Per Row
    And Also
Teachers were not also so loud enough so we could hear him clearly
Then Neither the board was big enough
Just take an eg of a 55 Inch TV
    That size X 1.5
    Thats what their class provides
after 70K annual Fee from us
In the end on november was their Final Exam
I somehow managed to get 68% and left that school ASAP
Although my English Teacher was really good and the only memory I have is of her helping me with English and all
    But apart from that
Im not even sorry to say
This school is just An Obstacle in Success and not a ladder to it
I just feel sad for those who have to shift places here and think that things would be good in this school
Alas this is the only CBSE school in Sikkim
And so many parents fall victim to it
    IDK about localites and all
But If you are shifting to Gangtok
Take Dummy school or something but never this school
I wanted to learn with PW Arjuna Batch
And this school timings and their teachers arrogance in Form a Line No running and all that BS
They first of all dont deserve the place of a Teacher
And they Even costed me of my Pw batch
My 11th is now wasted and 12th
    Im struggling
And I blame only this Stupid School Which is just a Fucking Buissness
Sorry to those Teachers If they see this Comment
But Im not even a percent sorry for all I have Written here
    5-5 is =0
that is how many Fucks I give about your School
    Screw you Holy Cross

This topic is very serious as , Since my childhood i was pressurise to study and get highest marks in exam due to this i not even enjoyed my childhood hah i enjoyed at some points but i was following rules& regulations which were setup by the school i used rattafication to get marks and top in my class , my hobbies like dancing, drawing, travelling, communicating were fade up by these bullshit rules , i start living inside house i gained was only fear & more fear which makes me insecure and creates social anxiety, Memory losses , headches , OCD , which makes my current situation even worst, I did not share these problems to my family, becoming a topper is easy but being a topper is trauma , the teachers, parents always expect me from i will score highest marks in exams , ignoring how my mental health goes , as i try every time to be like i was , I lost my hobbies , communicational skills , and the pricess thing my Mental happiness and mental peace , My friends have backup but i have not , they don't care how you score they want is your money and highest score , what could i do i don't know , 😢 I am intovert the FAKE HAPPINESS IS ON MY FACE BUT FROM INSIDE....

Everything I see and heard from this video is true it's like a hell for us
Like my friend had kidney stones and aur teacher hit him so hard that his kidney stones started paining he had to get to hospital after the school ended
And I also tell u one more story
The teachers came in aur class and started asking everyone caste, religion, etc
WE even have to get pass from teacher to go washroom....... ..
    We are treated likes machines.
Teachers give us like 2 chapters a day..... If we don't do it in a day
We get beated so hard.. If we cry the teacher takes us to principal office...
Even if we got 10/10marks in aur test paper teachers said get it signed by ur parents if we don't then principle office again

As a private school student i can totally agree with this video. In our school even if we talk at the faintest, the teachers will surely give us punishment. And our administrator oh what can i say abt him.there was a footbal tournament going on in our school and everyone was practicing.there was also some work going on in the side of the school.then one boy kicked the ball and by mistakely it hit the wall which was getting built and it broke.then our school administrator did wht was unimaginable.he took a shovel and he literally blasted the ball into pieces and the crazy part is that wasnt even the schools ball,it was of the boy who kicked it. our school says tht they dont have responsibility if anything we own is lost, but they can blast our football just because we by mistakely caused an accident. Also if there is anything wrong with my english in this comment, tht too is because of our school as they dont let us speak in our mother tongue and we are not learning any english here anyways...

As a private school student, unfortunately I can totally relate. I guess many of the private schools have a specific section for another language chosen instead of Hindi, like I'm a Sanskrit language student and there's an entire section for us student.. and because Sanskrit can be chosen in 9th only if you scored above 85% in Sanskrit in 8th class, this section is considered the toppers' section. I mean it's not false that this section is full of toppers except for some students like me who scored good in sanskrit but average in other subjects but the thing is that every teacher who teaches us thinks that everybody in the class is a bookworm who doesn't want to do ANY extracurricular activities. We're literally denied to go out in any extracurricular period like games, PT even though it's clearly in the timetable... And we're not even given a music/dance period...
