With the Dodo thermal liner to eradicate any cold "shock" from the outside panel, the Dacron wadding is merely belt and braces to ensure no humidty or condensation build-up. Done mine like that - it's bone dry whatever the weather. I've also then put felt backed bedroom carpet over the ceiling and walls. Don't need a heater. Toasty. Keeps extreme heat from the panel passing into the van in direct sunshine in the summer too. I've done all the voids in the rails with Dacron as well. Would take an excessive amount of moisture to get passed the carpet, let alone onto the wadding and into the cavity. 100% dry all the time. It's impossible for the panels or cavities to get cold enough for moisture to condense anywhere near them. Unlike wool, Dacron is plastic - zero moisture absorbtion in any case..Looks like you did a good job!
I've just finished 6 months work on my van to get it almost complete. seeing you about to do it all over again gives me ptsd lol. I would not wanna do all that work again. good luck
🤣 can relate mate. Decided to make some upgrades to my own van after 3 years. Fast forward 6 weeks later, i'm still going. Can go on forever with these money buckets!
All you need to be aware of are the wet panels of your van - i.e. any panel that has a sliding window. Water management through the cavities of these are to be carefully considered including around door handle and lock areas if they aren't sealed. Water can easily flow through gaps in the rubber seals and the window scrapers of any sliding window. Considering the normal flow of water through a wet panel, with my front doors, all extra deadening, lining and wadding treatment of the panel was completely avoided by instead padding out the back of the door cards. It's made a transformational difference in terms of a huge reduction in resonance, soundproofing and heat loss in the van (T4).
It was quite sad watching you rip it all out after all that work but i bet its going to look brilliant when youve finished it. Cant wait to see the next stage xx
Happy belated birthday, hope you had a great day. This is now really exciting but how will you handle living under a roof while all this work goes on. Can’t wait to see the outcome. Take care. 💕
Forget what George says lol s vapour barrier is not needed. My advice stick as much 25mm celotex as you can on the flat panels the glass insulation in the hard to reach areas. I've done 50mm and another 25 mm on top of that. The whole van floor walls ceiling is 75mm celotex I hardly use the diesel heater it pays for it self in money and noise in 6 months over the cost of diesel and the ticking of the heater plus if you go Spain etc it keep you cool
I’d appreciate some of the recycled bottle wool if there’s any going and you aren’t to far away. Got a lwb t4 I’m trying to convert on a rather tiny budget ✌️
You forgot to mention, that you need to answer a question to fully be entered into the draw! Wondering what is gonna be any different on the new build. Apart from the electrics, I can't see what could be much better than now... aha, maybe Van 2.0 will have a shower? Yep, I know, i'm a bit impatient...! Anyway, wish ya luck with the build, oh and Happy B'day..
It might be worth while you’ve got it stripped checking on the inside where the outer lower black body trims are fixed on, I’m not sure how they are fitted on yours but I’ve seen that some of the clips that hold them on other vans are prone to leaking ruclips.net/video/Uj1Co1waHm8/видео.htmlsi=ugrA5m4uzdkGtAUv
Didn't actually know until this video there were two ways to spell destroyed... Thumbnail says distroyed.. Cost of living crisis... Nah not heard of it.. spend thousands on converting a van only to then rip it all out and take it to the tip. I worry about some people... Good luck anyhow

Out with the old etc.
Could have run some flexi conduit behind the uprights and insulation for the cable runs and future proofing

I never had to answer a question. Shower is 100% in the new build
Did getting that black stuff off the ceiling in the end
You should add a log burner.
What gas to you use for your two burner cooker
Going on and on and on about a bloody vapour barrier that you don’t need 😂
Your choice ofcourse, but some of us would give our left arm for your camper van such a shame.😢😢😢😢😢😢
Happy birthday pal
Why is it that you are removing all the insulation? Ah, I heard later that you are doing it because you're putting thicker insulation in.
To install a better quality for a higher quality camper
Belated Happy birthday 🎉🎉

1st!
Literally begging it now. So disappointed in you. Literally just a rolling advert so you don't have to work.
I really use to enjoy watching you....
