Always had to have a frisbee with us. They were a great team and had the mom Azz for 16 yrs and the son Cygnus for 14. They had a great life with me and brought me miles and miles of smiles. Azz had such a silly grin and her and Cyggie always loved to shower me while swimming. Will never be able to replace them. Athena, great name for a cool doggo.
I'm an old dude that wants you to be old..lol So, in case you didn't know, when ya end up parking on the side of the road, make sure you sleep with your head on the passenger side. I know most people tend to sleep with their head on the driver side. But if some idiot isn't paying attention and clips that back corner at least your head won't be there to take the hit. Otherwise another great vid there.

Such gorgeous sights! What you said at the end really resonated too, I would imagine the longing for human companionship can get strong sometimes being out there traveling around. It's great you have your pal Athena there by your side to help. She probably liked that rock because it was nice and cool, it looked like it was the perfect shape to lay down on too.

Eden!!! I took my 80 pound red nose Mr. Phoenix to the river a few weeks back. And we found out he can in fact swim. I had to lead the way of course 😅. I wish I could have captured the smile on his face when he got deep enough he kinda floated up and took off swimming. It is a memory I will definitely hold on to!!

Using the reflector would be a good idea, but two things: 1. They need to be about 100-250 feet back from your vehicle for visibility. 2. People are naturally going to stop to check on you, which could be annoying (or scary). Be safe!

I live and "work" as a nature and wildlife photographer in a 733,000 acre National Forest. Yes, being alone, especially with seeing what I get to see, I do wish to have someone with me to share it with. I got to admit though after almost 20 years of doing this? I cannot think of anything else I would want to do. I get to wake up to incredible sunrises with mountain ranges and forest all around. Go to pond water source and watch Mom and her calf munching on the plant life. Hearing eagles, hawks, or watching Great Blue Herons fishing for breakfast at shoreline. Walking back to camp on a sunbeam filled path This is my idea of heaven.
We live on a homestead in remote rural Alaska with over 50 million acres of wilderness out front and an empire of toys. Supercub parked out front. Seven snow machines, three ATV's, a tracked vehicle, two dirt bikes, a boat on the river 10 min away - we get grizzlies occasionally and my husband has had to shoot five of them in 37 years for bad manners. He took us to the lower '48 on several trips to see the iconic parks in the Rockies, Appalachians, Sierras... and what amazed me was the crowds. We've been to spots vloggers have filmed and know that if they turned around there is a parking lot full of vehicles and a line formed up where they take turns framing their shots to make it look like solitude. Nobody can tell us our time is up, we have to move. We log 16-22 cords of trees a year for our 3 wood stoves (house, shop, and outdoor hot tub) - try cutting a tree in those over-regulated areas! Our logging permit is ten dollars. We can take 60 salmon with our free personal use net permit. Want birds for dinner? Open the window and whack a couple. We don't film because it interferes in the reality and it just keeps going on and on, day after day and year after year. But we wouldn't have to frame shots to make it look isolated because standing on our roof you cannot see any sign of others. The truth is that private property is the big fix and that takes MONEY. My husband has an amazing array of skills - you have to in order to survive here because you can't just call a plumber, electrician, carpenter, mechanic, welder, log miller, etc. But without money you can't buy the land, equipment, machines... You get yourself a simple province girl from SE Asia to share your life with. She will be thrilled with a humble life at your National Forest. You know what land costs bordering that place, right? But you can do it if you make a plan and stick to it. Build your place yourself. She will be young, beautiful and like me never even had a boyfriend before her husband. She will give you children that will, like her, adore you the rest of your life.
