    This update brings NEW features for 2021 and 2022 Mustang Mach-Es - Lane Change Assist and In Lane Repositioning. For 2023, Mach-Es it has these features but this update will make the system more refined with less cancellations.

    A feature that is little known and not talked about much is "suggested lane change." If you are in BlueCruise and you are traveling slower than your set cruise control speed and the lane next to you is clear, a message will appear that says "lane change available." Nice little feature.

    Blue Cruise 1.3 performs extremely well. Very impressed ! I think you are tapping directional signal for lane changes, so probably not hands-free, but wheel-free. Very disappointing my Tesla model S won’t do this unless spending thousands more for enhanced autopilot.
    Late in 2022, our EQS 580 did smooth lane changes by tapping directional stalk similar to blue cruise. Blue Cruise lane changes are impressive on Mach e when priced less than half of MB.

      Blue Cruise isn't free either. After a 3 month trial with a new car purchase, Ford wants $75/month or $800/year. There's also a 3 year option at the time of purchase but if you don't get it then it's not offered later.
      I'm not convinced it's worth that price, personally, given that without paying you have to give the wheel some torque every 10 seconds and you lose lane changes - that's the entire added capability.

  • @TheLumberJacked
    @TheLumberJacked 27 дней назад

    I’ve used Supercruise on a long distance trip and I loved it. It’s not perfect, but I think we all know that about these systems. However it was perfect for 90% of the trip and I arrived at the destination more fresh than I ever have. Certainly had no issues with big curves in the road and the auto lane change is literal gold since it’s still easy to get caught behind people who are going slower when you are sort of locked in on the drive on long boring stretches, I loved that it handled that for me and kept me moving at peak speeds as much as possible. I hope Blue Ceuise is fairly close to as good, supposedly 1.3 is 79% fewer drops of hand free mode which is very impressive.

  • @henry17403
    @henry17403 2 месяца назад +1

    I've had 1.3 since shortly after I bought my 2023 GT in March. I had a 3-month trial with the purchase and didn't continue it.
    The lane changes are a nice feature, but although I could see the "skootch" graphic in the dash when passing a semi I really couldn't see that the car altered its position in the lane.
    Without the paid Blue Cruise subscription all of the non-mapped features - speed limit sign detection, slowing in sharper curves - are still there, so basically the Blue Cruise subscription gets you hands free (vs torque input required every 10 seconds) driving, smart lane changes, and - - that's it.
    For me, I don't drive on interstates enough to justify the cost, and even if I drove on interstates daily the subscription gives you very limited utility. It still pretty much drives itself on the highway, I just need to apply some pressure on the wheel vs hands off (and then what am I supposed to do with my hands anyway?).
    *Maybe* I'd consider subscribing for a month when I'm taking a long road trip but the driver task loading without isn't really any greater.

    • @sloth6765
      @sloth6765 Месяц назад

      I wish Ford/Chevy/GMC/Toyota had full descriptions of these self driving features. Browsing the listings give me no clue which models have it and not, and until your comment I didn't know that some features are available without a subscription. I obviously refuse to pay subscription for something that should just be included. But...so, does the system work on highways -other than- the specifically mapped interstates? Ie can it do a more basic lane keep/distance following on state roads without the subscription?

  • @Serrol_

    I have a '23 Premium with the 1.3 trial, and it was very smooth on certain highways, but if you get a highway with lots of bends and traffic it's still quite rough.

    • @JasonButler007
      @JasonButler007 19 часов назад

      Yes, the Tesla is infamously known to take certain liberties with an autonomous spontaneity that puts it in a trail blazing class of own. Spontaneously bursting into a ball of flame is an all around favorite for an example.
      It is an interesting time we are living in, where people are willfully entrusting the mortality of themselves and others in their daily comings and goings, to the inherently imperfect technology that has yet to rise to a level of proficiency that meets or exceeds that of the average human driver.
      However, not all of the people in this rapidly advancing technological time are so willing to accept the inherently increased risk adversely posed to their life if not the lives of others in exchange for some degree of reduction to the relevant burdens involved in the function of driving a vehicle when it is otherwise the preferred mode of personal transport.
      People are understandably enamored and perhaps even infatuated with all the marvels and innovative ways that ever advancing technology has made possible for our entertainment, productivity, safety and more. I am definitely one of those people, having been intrigued with technology life long, and having made a successful career in the essence.
      But with more than layman's understanding of how many technical systems work, especially as it pertains to systems such as those in state of the art autonomously driven roadway vehicles, which are systems comprised of a silicon based electromagnetic digital gating/switching logic core that facilitates logical computational capacities to dynamically calculate through the use of logic gated electrical pathways according to electrical charges, as the fundamental instructions, that are read from instructions that convert mnemonically tokenized representations that interpret further abstracted instructions sets, on out until finally the instructions are those actually input by a programmer, and to which there is an array of electromagnetically connected peripheral hardware of any kind, summarily in whole to fundamentally receive data, process data, and then send the processed result data, there comes an additional level of understanding of how such systems are to varying degree's depending on infinite variables, error prone, and by definition, limited in capability by the parameters of design as prescribed by error prone people that create such technological systems.
      And in having that level of understanding, the same integrated instinctual life preserving primitives that keep one from jumping out of an airborne aircraft especially without a parachute, kick in and likewise prevent one from entrusting one's life to any sort of man made system of technology that by its purpose intends to hurl one at deadly velocities and speeds down the densely occupied roadways where every second presents a multitude of life ending hazards to avoid, and so many opportunities to cause them.
      TLDR; I don't understand why it's legal nor how anyone chooses to let a computer drive their car for them, with them in it, and I personally will never ever let a computer drive for me when the option for me to drive myself exists. Anyway, who can sit in a driver seat, and actually truly relax while a computer directs their car through traffic at 70MPH?

    @29:48 - That is good if it is slowing down a bit before sharper curves. From most standard cruise control systems, even some 'smarter' ones scare me if there are curves as they will often apply the accelerator no matter what is about to happen. So it can alarm you when it hits the accelerator right when you might be lifting off a bit.

    • @henry17403
      @henry17403 2 месяца назад

      In my experience the car still self-cancels quickly when the curve is sharp enough that it slows down.

    • @TheLumberJacked
      @TheLumberJacked 27 дней назад

      Yes lateral g-forces add to a sense of speed by making you feel like you are accelerating, that’s why when these “dumber” systems accelerate in a curve it goes from relaxed to totally uncomfortable in a heart beat accentuating that sense of acceleration.

    Is 1.3 better about staying centered in the lane than 1.0? I’m keen to try out 1.3, especially if it is less prone to ping pong in lanes and can handle curves better. Scooching over for trucks is a nice feature as is the lane change option. I hope Ford does something about the pricing because $2400/3 years is a steep cost that probably keeps people from buying it. I’d consider doing another 3 years at $500-600.

    Well I'm happy for for and very jealous at the same time, especially since it's been a full year since I got my email from Ford about how it was coming soon! Questions: I thought all us previous model years were now getting v1.4 not 1.3? Also, it appears to be pretty smooth in the stop and go, was that your full experience or does it still do some hard stops? My version is so herky jerky my husband makes me turn it off in stop and go. And I totally agree with you on the slowing down when you can see traffic slowing down ahead...BC makes me really nervous in that regard cuz I know it's about to do a hard short stop instead of a smoother slow down. I usually wind up having to do this maneuver where I turn it off and slow down myself until I'm almost at the gridlock then I quickly reengage it so I can use it in the stop and go.

    • @MachE_VLOG
      @MachE_VLOG  2 месяца назад

      I heard the rumors about 1.4 so I don't know why this is 1.3. Stop and Go was really smooth - big difference. A couple of times coming up to a fully stopped car I did hit the brakes because I thought it was waiting too long to start slowing.

  • @Daggre
    @Daggre 2 месяца назад

    I've been so frustrated with Ford over the lack of communication on this update that I'm seriously considering selling my 22 Mach-E Premium ER and going with the Model Y. I really love my Mach-E but I just feel like I've been flat out lied to on this since it's been "almost out" for a year and a half, and my Blue Cruise "Trial" is up in February 2025. If the update comes out soon (not for the early access folks but for the rest of us), I'll give it a chance, but when I have to pay $80/month for this compared to $100/month for Tesla's parking-spot-to-parking-spot FSD, it will be really hard to justify staying with Ford. I hope Ford just switches direction on this and makes it free for all Mach-E's with the hardware to support it, then they'd have a compelling argument against the far superior Tesla FSD, but there is no universe where this is worth anywhere near $80/month, even though it's much better than the 1.0 mess we've all been living with.

      I've seen it once - the road curved to the left while another road forked off straight. The other road had a speed limit 35 sign which the car saw and began to obey.
      There's one stop light I drive through on a 50 mph road where the car suddenly thinks the speed limit is 65. I'm still figuring out why, but it's happened in either direction when I have to stop at the light.

      @@MrGiggity890 No thanks. We considered it but decided we liked the better build quality, better ride quality, 360 camera, AA/CarPlay, styling, and better paint of the Mach-E. Plus, when we bought our Mach-E it was cheaper and BlueCruise was free for us. I think FSD was a $10,000 or $12,000 option at time. The last time we tested FSD it was really great, but not worth the expense and it still makes serious mistakes.

      @MachE_VLOG I have a MME and even I recognize the Tesla FSD is overall superior to Blue Cruise as it's much more versatile. But I didn't buy my EV primarily for auto driving capabilities. Plus the radar in MME really helps with lane changes and parking. MME is still overall a better vehicle.

      Yup...as long as there's no rain, snow, fog, mud on the cameras, unclear lane markings, car pool lane exits, windy roads, special-use lanes, sealant lines, left turns into oncoming traffic, or roundabouts 👍

      @@nemodigital FSD does somethings amazing well but it also makes a lot of stupid mistakes. It is a huge leap to ask the car to navigate city streets. When it is working it will blow your mind but it still does stuff like swerving into oncoming traffic. It doesn't "cancel" it literally is swerving into traffic. I know so many Tesla owners that didn't even get through the full trial before they disabled it.

    Ford nags are present. Just turn your head! 😊i can see you have to hit turn on a right or left turn signal. Tesla will do automatically at the right time and more without human interaction! Ford is not able to do lane changing on its own!

      Basic AutoPilot does not do lane changes. FSD (between $8,000 and $15,000 depending on when you purchased) will do auto lane changes. Enhanced AutoPilot did lane changes but it has been discontinued.
      Nags are a good thing. If you are paying attention to the road like you are supposed to, you never get them.

      No reason for Ford to license anyone else’s tech. They’ll stay with their own ADAS hardware and software with their next gen BlueCruise likely to be up to Level 3 autonomy.

      @@anthonyc8499 Mark this post. Just like Ford licensed NACS, they will license FSD. Musk has already stated that he will license it to any automaker who wants it. There is no comparison between ADAS and FSD. Cybercab will be using FSD. People will be in the car sleeping while the car does the driving.
