So to make it perfectly clear I have tested this product on all kinds of surfaces from my room to hardwood floors etc and the results are still the same no matter how you look at it the shift in weight when he leans left or right while turning will 90% of the time will end up him falling over.
SirJames I Gamerfuzion thank you for the review 😀😀
You thought I would be a useful toy but NO! Kono DIO Da!
Thank you for this review! This item just went up on salat at BigBadToyStore.com for 79.99, and even at that price, i still dont think its worth it because of how often it falls when turning.
I enjoy your videos Sir James. I'm an old geezer who loved Star Wars going back to 1977, and enjoyed Disneyland since the 1960's. I envy your generation, you have some very cool toys I would love to have had back in the day. I like your passion and your videos are well made, I find them entertaining and a refreshing break from all the negativity surrounding us these days. Carry on sir.
I’m an “old geezer” too (no, no, I take it back, not quite!) of the female persuasion, also a SW fan sine 1977 :) I actually love the toys more than I ever did, also love this channel & Dan-O. I think I need the 60. version of D-O to go with my Droid Depot R2... (I keep the toys at work, no idea what I’ll do with them, not to mention an extensive women of pop culture figurine collection, among other things) when I retire 😆 I’ll need an extra room...
Just don't let him say ZA WARUDO
I watched the Dan-O channels review of the other D-O. I was very excited to see you were doing one on the other droid. Thanks for jumping on that grenade for us brother!!!
"SHINEI KAKYOIN"
btw,i love how the jojo fans loves this droid, better than the star wars fans
PyroBr bro I legit came straight to the comments to find this comment
Yes
It’s me, D-O!
Za Warudo!
Kono DIO Da
Jotaro
Hey man, that was me at Target today. Sorry for giving you the weird look but I knew I’d recognized you from somewhere 😂
Love the reviews, keep it up
Now program it to shout *'KONO D-O DA!'*
KONO D-O DA!!!!
I'd love to size a size comparison of D-O next to the R2 and BB units from the droid depot! Maybe it'll be a good fit to go in a collection of droids even if it doesn't really work. Great Vid!!
I can see this droid Menacing
He's just rolling there, menacingly

If you have him on the carpet he tends to fall even more than he would on a hard surface. I feel like they rushed on this product.
Even on a hard surface he falls alot he just not meant to turn
@@SirJamesIGamerfuzion I agree.
It does seem to lean it's head over to the side to maximum a lot. Perhaps some carefully added weight low inside the droid may alleviate the tipping problem? Just enough to lower the center of gravity, but not so much as to inhibit locomotion noticeably. Shame it doesn't work properly from the get-go.
D0 just needs his 'Stand' to help.
i saw you at Disney land three times in a row i couldn't say hi because i was busy but i though it was cool because you were my main reason why i cam to Disney land for galaxy edge and the first time i was like no way that cant be but you were in your robe and when i saw you again i was like yup thats you. your channel is great i hope you continue making great videos for us!
Thank you and also thanks for the support :)
My dad was able to get every single new figure that came out and they are all super cool
I have the remote control BB9 unit by Sphere-O it’s pretty cool.
I also have that one and I love it.
The Force is strong with you. Thank you.
PS the orb is the force-link, prob
Definitely a great review. It's hard to imagine releasing a product that performs that poorly when moving around. I would be upset too if I paid 150 for it.
I want this for Christmas!
Don't waste your money. As you can see in the video, it's garbage.
Nice sith trooper tshirt , the d-o droid looks awesome too!!
I think you could 3d print some "training wheels" to fix the issue of him falling all the time.
koran2004 you can just 3D print a life size version!
Thanks for the review! Got ours yesterday and likely going to return him today. Not being able to turn him quickly is a huge let down. As well as having to pick him up all the time. Would rather spend that same amount of money on the cheaper remote controlled version of D-O and another droid build at Mubo’s.
You gotta buy that roada roller da. Why did it feel like time stopped for a moment?
Glad I got it for free because it keeps falling like you said. But I still love him.
it's cute and I like it's sounds but if it was me I go the cheap version because a $150 is a lot of money for something that keeps off over.
Cute and menacing at the same time
I just looked up this droid on Amazon, it's £35 now. (roughly $40)
Makes for a good desktop paperweight. With the guard feature...excellent
I’m very lucky I got mine 30 Percent off! It was a toys r us one I’ve seen him sitting there for like months so they put him on clearance.
Cool james
To be fair, the instructions specifically state that he's not to be used on carpet. Even low pile like you're using him on. His delicate balance needs a hard floor. That said, I agree that he does fall over too much. It's unfortunately because they had to make the "tire" that he rolls on curved on the edges to allow him to turn when his head leans but it also makes him unstable when he flails his head around. I also have never been a fan of app controlled toys/robots. Having a physical joystick controller is much more practical because you can actually feel the controls. On a phone, you have to constantly look at the screen to see where your finger is so you can't even enjoy watching him drive around. Since D-0 is a small little guy, they should have gone ahead and made a full sized version which would have probably been more stable since the wheel would be wider. Yes that would have been expensive but that's never stopped fans from buying the merchandise. I wish they would have used the same technology that the D--0 at the Star Wars celebration used. That one can actually turn without the wheel turning right on the spot. Some gyroscopic mechanism inside I would imagine. Had this D-0 been more stable and able to turn better, the price would have probably been justified. In it's current state, he should have been $100 max.
I have stated not video but on the Pinned comment I've used him on different surfaces results where all the same sadly
If you don’t go as fast and use it on hard surfaces only like it suggests it would work fine
Does it work with the Orbe Only, with out the app, or it needs the app?????
It kind of resembles the pixar lamp and ball with the red star. disney reminding us they own star wars now
And the ball does work
Where did you get that tshirt?
For the Jedi temple guard hilt can it be double bladed yet
Thanks for saving me $150!
Seems like the head tilt should only happen when he’s going fast. Like riding a motorcycle, you need momentum when you lean into a turn.
I dunno, would you be able to offset the weight by adding more weight to the sides on the wheel?
Does this one rolls on hard surfaces like.... the wood floor?
I picked up one NIB for $70 on eBay, that’s a good price considering all the issues, I hope there is a update to the software that gives us JJ Abrams voice in the droid...
Any update so far??
This is why I like the Sphero Droids better my BB-9E works perfect
Second love your videos James thanks
I'm happy as heck haha I just traded my kids old car seat for one 😆
lol I thought on the box he was chasing a headless bb8!
If you still have the box I'll buy the box off you, I got this thing for Christmas and want to return it but the box had been thrown away.
They should have made a wheel pop in and out when he is turning
Hopefully they will fix the balancing issues because it isn’t worth the $150 at this time even though it’s very cute!
I'll probably buy the $60 one, one day...
The design of D-O in general is impractical. I remember when the trailer for force awakens came out, I thought BB-8 was a poor design choice. Granted he has grown on me. But to replace a sphere with a cilinder ? Who's bright idea was that. New design to market new toys... Yes. But the regression in practicality is somewhat unforgivable.
You can thank Jar Jar Abrams
D-0 is an old droid, used by a Jedi hunter and put together using scrap pieces from other droids! So it’s not really regression in practicality because he’s not a new droid!
Because D-O is an older droid, unlike the BB units, and a different style of droid. R2 unite and BB units are astromechs, D-O isn’t.
He sounds like , Bubo “Owl from Clash of the Titans “
I was able to fix the falling over problem by adding small round diameter hair ties over the green lines on the wheel. They act like training wheels
How thick?
@@massproducedeva_ .070 thousands, or 1.69mm , I also have used the rubber band bracelets , just cut them down the middle and slip over the wheel to
I see it on Amazon for $80 but I'mma go with the cheaper one as I'm afraid my cats will knock it down more than it will already fall down. Also the cheaper one looks to be much much faster.
I wonder if the droid would work better on a flatter surface? The DO they showed off at Star Wars Celebration moved around and didn’t fall over once.
I tried it on the surface of my room and a standard floor every attempt when he turns his head while turning he falls each time
SirJames I Gamerfuzion thanks for the reply and the review. If it always tops over, then that’s unfortunate. But good info. I almost bought it last Friday.
Thanks so much!! Helped me decide not to purchase. Appreciate your very nicely made review!
Mar 2021: Just saw this at a small town store in Michigan for $39 USD but still $149 at Target stores. LOL - was it a product flop?
You look like Michael J Fox when in Teen Wolf when he was half wolfman.
I just bought this in the secondary market, brought it home just to find out that hasbro deleted the app on the 30 June, & I bought it on 28th August, it's Outrageous that they deleted 5his so soon, shops still have it aswell as amazon, does anyone know a way around this ?
I have that figure if you would like to review it.
Looks like the $60 version is way better. Sure you don’t get to drive a brown with your phone, but that shouldn’t add an extra 80 bucks. If I get one I’m probably gonna be driving around because my dad has an R2D2 that moves so I think that will be pretty interesting having them looking like they’re interacting with each other.
D-O needs stabilisers
I've been having some issues pairing him to me phone. I know this video is a couple years old, but does anyone have any advice?
Discontinued app
Does he have a squeaky wheel?
Mine won't connect with my Samsung Galaxy S10. Is here anybody that got some ideas or tips?
Dude where did you get that temple guard mask?
etsy
I got this droid from Ollie's bargain store for 32$ WELLLLLLL worth it
ony £20 for me
Got this for my son, we played with it for 20 minutes before it went back in to the box to be returned. We tried running it on carpet and hardwood floors. It would not stay up. Would not play with the ball. It’s junk, I really wanted it to work.
You would figure for the price tag they would of done a better Job but with it falling and some options not working correctly just not worth it
SirJames I Gamerfuzion exactly! Definitely lack of product testing on their part.
Bruh sometime he will throw knifes at your child and you and reject his roboty
Just seen one brand new for 20 , passed on it
Kono DIO Da!
WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
I really love this product but I say a bit over price
He is currently at Ross for $40.
I got it for $40 at Ross
Does anyone know which lightsabers are in stock at Galaxys edge?
What you looking for?
Jovaaay I’m looking for the mace windu hilt
Lando Calrissian No Mace. Was there today.
Why isn't there a D-0 Toy that talks like it does in the movie with a gittery voice? All the toys just whistle.
You thought you were gonna see a comment related to the video, but it was I, JoJo reference!
I got one from ollies for 40 or so dollars
Not the best droid design but since sphero discontinue the app for their droids this is the most interactive droid on the market. Aside from maybe the r2-d2 tamagochi
You wanted the carbonized version?
Yep
Where do you display everything. That is a video I want to see. I have too many funko pop star wars now I want the black series 6 inch.
Hello there
Bro I got the $150 one for only 20 bucks at Ollie's
*KONO DIO DA*
Does it say it's movie line (no thank you)
nope just beeps
Is D 0 from the new movie? Or a tv series or did this company just make up a droid. Where is he from?
I think it's from the new movie
@@SirJamesIGamerfuzion thanks. O I apologize for a earlier comment I made a while ago on your channel about buying to much. Hey you do you! I'll probably never get there anytime soon so thanks.
So basically the 60 droid is more of the better option lol....OK!
If I had to pick so.something up every five seconds than I'D BE PISSED! The other one has training wheels whi ch is actually funny and cute.
D-O-sama!!!
bro this droid is for 150$ on target, when on amazon, its for frickin 50$! Target explain!
1st woooo love your videos!!!
I got it for 45 bucks HEYOOOOO
it needs to be ran on a flat floor NOT carpet. Even the short carpet you have causes issues. I have this and play it on my kitchen floor and runs pretty well. Definitely not falling over like you are having..
Look at the pinned comment ........
Did you put that on your credit card, hope not.
He says it was gifted in the beginning of the video
Kind of sad he keeps falling over. $150 way too much for something that unstable.
Kono dio da
star wars has a special needs robot now !
I love droids is general, but this droid design just seems lazy. It’s a goose lamp on a wheel.
SO WHAT AT LEAST HE'S NAMED AFTER AN ANIME CHARACTER!!!
KONO DIO DA!!
Can't wait for the 20 dollar china version to come out
This is not the droid you’re looking for…..
*ZA WARUDO!!!*
$150.00 for what is basically and RC toy that can't turn? Think I'll pass.
This is more like a Autonomous Figurine than a driveable RC Toy... Kinda Sad.
Wow this is not worth 150 at all the 60 $ one is much better than this
Your carpeting is not even so it's going to cause him to knock over if you put him on level even ground you'll do fine
False I tried him on many surfaces and he will Fail heck another user just recently commented on the video and said the same thing
No thank you!
