What makes this channel for me isn’t even just the places they go and the information given. It’s the genuine appreciation for every small detail around them even down to simply the handles on a door. I love when people can just find the beauty and fascination in every aspect of life and adventure. I have severe depression and anxiety and don’t get to travel much because of it. But this channel always makes me feel so calm and comforted to watch for some reason.

These old churches are nothing short of amazing. I agree 100%-anytime you get a chance to check one out, it is well worth the visit. The architecture, sacred furniture and artwork, the altar, the hand carvings, the reredos, and the whole liturgical environment in these older churches are just astounding and surreal.

In my father's home town in the Brenta Dolomites (Alps), the churchyard was limited space. If you were buried there, eventually you would be removed and your bones put under the church, and a new body would be laid to rest in the spot that you once occupied. I saw my father's sister's grave as I child, and 19 years later, it was gone and someone else was in residence.

if you are ever in Cornwall you must visit Warleggan church where the Vicar Frederick Denisham claims he was abandoned by his congregation and said to have preached to cut outs of them ..its been called the loneliest village in England and is close to the moors where i grew up and Temple church which is built on land once owned by the Knights Templar. It became famous as a place where marriages could be performed without banns or licence (similar to Gretna Green until the early 20th century).there is also a beautiful place called Roughtor where a woman was chased across the moor and killed there is a lovely monument there for her near the scene of the notorious murder in 1844.thank both so much great film 💚🖤💚

The artistic detail in those wrought iron hinges and other door ornaments is nothing short of exquisite, and must've taken a blacksmith and his young apprentices many hot, sooty, tedious days to fabricate each one!! Just like the detail that went into the ingenious church structure, that oversized pipe organ array, the beautiful hand carved relief panel, and of course, the neatly arranged hulk of skulls and bones! Kent is filled with lots of spooky history, from Canterbury to the sea!! Happy Halloween!! 🎃
