On your recent live, I saw Jessica read that horrific letter from a Christian and I just want to tell you both I'm SO sorry and a little embarassed by Christians who can't just be kind. You two are such wonderful examples of how goodness and kindness does not need to have anything to do with religion. You both just emanate enthusiasm and joy for learning and exploring, such appreciation for beauty in all things and you both have a sophisticated yet at the same time an almost child-like wonder about the world that is so refreshing, so beautiful. MUCH LOVE to you both :)
Oh no I am sorry they got a letter like that. As a Christian, I have been told that my love for horror and dark content makes me not a real Christian. I laugh and continue living my life. I can only imagine what was said in the letter and those are the types I stay far away from.
To be fair it wouldn’t just just be certain Christian types it would be every faith Islam Hindu etc they all hate that sort of stuff. It’s silly it’s what’s in the heart that counts. But the way London has a massive underground tunnel system so it would be very difficult to find any connection to Sweeney Todd as it’s probably all underground mostly but was really good to watch you guys 😊
This is why I love this channel. You guys are always giving us a little bit of everything . From mini history lessons, to behind the scenes, and all over the world. Thank you
Almost all of central London has another floor below it. Underneath the streets and parks are roads and doors and rooms, grottoes. Great video matey They’re always discovering new sections of Roman wall they didn’t know existed. Edinburgh is the same. Under Edinburg are streets and houses, literally under the streets and houses. It’s bizarre and hardly ever talked about.
As a Londoner you've found a maze of snickets also known as courtyards or alleyways. Well done and great video. Now your very close to Jack the Rippers area, could that be your next video?
Spent a week in London last summer and our hotel was right across the street of 186 in front of the Temple church. Took us a while to figure out why Fleet Street sounded so familiar. Great area. London is awesome!
The Ostrich Inn/Pub in Colnbrook near Slough/Heathrow you will find what is purported to be the most haunted pub in the UK. The pub is the third oldest in Great Britain, dating back to 1103 and the story goes there was a bedroom where there was a hinged bed/floor and the guests would be dropped into a vat of boiling water. Been there a few times, the place is definitely sending out some strange vibes.
My favorite Tim Burton movie next to Edward Scissorhands. Johnny sung very haunting and beautiful in this movie. Thank you for finally doing a video on it. Wonderful video Michael and Jess. Happy Halloween 🎃
This is fantastic! I had to keep pinching myself when I was in London. Kept telling myself with every step that I was taking, I'm walking in the footsteps of history. I hope to be able to go back one day.
👻I'm getting to enjoy the videos as soon as they post on your new schedule. I'm sure you discussed the change during "up all night." Unfortunately, I was otherwise occupied. As always, thanks for all your hard work and for continuing to drag us along. Grimm for Life!
My local hairdressers is called Sweeny Todd's. And it's joined onto a butchers shop. Lol The butcher had a little extra building on the side of his butchers shop that he didn't use. So he rented it out to some hairdressers and they named it Sweeny Todd. 🙂
Many thanks for such a wonderful video and such great explanation, I’m at London license taxi driver(black cab driver) Westminster tour guide and accredited, taxi guide and love to point out the Sweeney Todd locations/legend of Fleet Street. It’s wonderful to try and track down all the locations. The interesting thing with Saint Dunstan in the west and Fleet Street is that it was widened around the same time as the penny dreadful in the early 19th century, so it is said the original church would’ve been closer nearer to the centre of the street today and in fact today’s church is built where the graveyard used to be
I loved this Grimm adventure to the Sweeney Todd Universe! I remember when I watched this movie and it made me love Helena & Johnny even more. I enjoyed the atmosphere of London and the ever favorite architecture. Thank you Jess & Mike for another awesome adventure!💈❤
I absolutely love this channel you are an outstanding story teller im actually from london currently live in Northampton but I still go London often living there for so long makes you not really appreciate it much anymore but your videos are reminding me why im so proud to be from london thank you guys ❤️
Love you two so much and as a British person I especially love these videos ! I love the authenticity and variety you provide .my 8 year old son also loves your videos ❤
I went to London with my drama class in 1993…? Sweeny Todd live was SO impressive to me. I absolutely loved it. My jaw dropped during the first razor scene because I hadn’t a clue what it was about nor that a theatre would show “blood.” I love Johnny Depp and Helena in everything they do together. Simply magical.
Thanks for another great video! My wife and I usually vacation in London every 3 years or so and we find something new and awesome every time. Hopefully you both go back and do more videos! I've enjoyed all the ones you have done there and I think there is so many ideas for your channel its probably endless ! Thanks again!
Im pretty sure the RCJ High Court (where yal were standing at the start) is where Depp had his civil proceedings against a Newspaper, also in relation to Amber. Im not too familiar with the case though, sorry. Been there a few times. stunning building!
Like the alley you both walked through at 14:45 you will notice sloped sections on the walls in alleys and doorways. These were to prevent people urinating up the walls.
A late night treat oh my goodness grim life you did it again❤ I love you guys. I'm going through such a rough time right now. In my life and you guys really keep me smiling
@paulmcdonough1093 As Michael would say, fingers and bones crossed of a new place to live in seeking new employment. It's coming soon I know it is. My fiance broke up with me after seven years he left to a new state from CA to Washington... Because I could not leave my eighteen year old behind 😢 Without getting him set up first for college. His loss.

The first scene with Jessica by red booth, red bus drivng by and church behind is classic. Micheal definitly has cinematography talents! It makes me watch more. Thank you for these stories & the amazing scenery of England.
Love this channel you guys are awesome I so glad you chose to do this tour of my beautiful country I truly hope you have enjoyed your time safe travels
Awwwwww heck yeah! My favorite movie, didnt even know it was a musical along with rest of theater that started walking out during first song. Glad I stayed because it was a bad ass movie/musical. Cant wait to watch Grimms. Thank you.

Your channel lately has been so entertaining. I love these overseas adventures. It’s not the normal travel vlogging that everyone does. It’s been marvelous! I get so excited when I see a new video has been posted.
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos Michael and Jessica and they always blow me away when you show the real places of my favorite horror stories. Sweeney Todd is my favorite musical and thank you for showing the real historical places behind it. ❤
Sweeney Todd is one of my all time favorite musicals. Just above Cats, and the Wiz. I love watching you guys tour through the Euro. I'm hoping myself to head that a way someday. Enjoy my friends.
This is crazy. I was in London a couple of months back and walked right in front of the church at the start of the video and the dragon. I knew there was something to it but I never looked into it. We just happened to walk by as we were exploring.

Good morning from Gatlinburg TN Guys...i have to say, Your Queen video yesterday was AMAZING and i shared it all over ... Great job as always Mr and Mrs Grimm ☠️👻🎃
This video was a surprise. I first learned of the story from the Penny Dreadfuls book from Barnes and Noble. A collected works book of horror fic from the Penny Dreadfuls time period. The beginning of the book gives the history on them. Besides Sweeney Todd the book also includes the original 1818 version of Frankenstein.
I first became aware of Sweeney Todd through Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl - a movie that was critically panned but still one of my favorite romantic comedies.

Hi, loving your videos, thank you for amazing and interesting content. Just wanted to add there is a Sweeney Todd's Pie shop/ restaurant in Reading (West of London), and their pies are amazing 😉 (there's also a barber next to them) xx

Here in Toronto we had a Sweeney Todd hair place on Yonge Street since 1978 (they haven't posted anything on their IG since 2018 and the link to their website leads to nothing so I guess they closed up)
I do urbex and this vid is brilliant. The tunnels are there. So the church and old chute to the door you found is a basement leading to some more old segments and tunnels etc. The wall at side of the church with dundee on it is supposed to be where the stairs leading to the barbershop was .The tunnels under church are also there .But bare in mind there are 100s of tunnels all over london wether they are old sewer tunnels etc .Also the smell of pee would have added to the atmosphere ;-) . Done loads of the tunnels around london and some are damn right strange lore wise. Body snatchers etc .Very cool vid and a nice trip down memory lane .

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I don't really know anything about Sweeney Todd but I enjoyed this video. That back entrance way to what would have been the barber shop (the smelly alley entrance) immediately made me think of Miller's Court. The white brick work, the narrow space & the pipes made me think of the scene where Mary Jane Kelly was found. Just thought that was interesting.
Amazing adventure, thanks for taking us along.. Someone really should open a Mrs. Lovett's Pie shop there!! Fleet St used to be the river Fleet, now completely covered, and used as part of the Victorian sewer system. (possibly where that smell was emanating from). Most of Soho reeks of urine too!
