- What is life like outside Belgrade, Serbia? It's much different than traveling to the capital city of Belgrade but that's what makes it so exciting. We spent the day driving from Sombor to Bečej, what was supposed to be a 2-hour drive turned into six hours of exploring the local cuisine and small towns in between. After getting lost in the small village we stumbled upon what seems to be a bombed building and a concentration camp. Would you get out to explore?

Great video, super interesting! No way you could do the same in the USA where everything is barb wired... Nice adventure bro. Serbia is full of abandoned factories, every town has at least one. They used to provide jobs for the whole town, not only for workers, but for people working in kitchen, health center, transport, guards etc. After the collapse of Yugoslavia in 90s, most of them haven't managed to get through the economic crisis.

Some medical centers and factories were illegaly targeted buy NATO in the 1999 so there is a lot of ruined houses at certan parts of Serbia.

Near the beginning: Herringbone parquet floors in a huge airbnb? Absolutely crazy. There are apartments in Manhattan with those kinds of floors that would cost you $10-20 million!

Ur crazy i live 30km from there and i would never climb on that tower we had in passed few years many accidents young ppl climbing ending tragicly so not so smart to do my appinion u do what u want ofc...not only there but accros the land there r many factoris like that one abandoned and ruined...its 90s debres of industry leaving like that with it should be demolished all of them sorry for my spelling isnt correct.
I agree with you about the tower, climbing it is certainly unsafe. I think the local/city govt there can erect a safer proper tower just as high or even higher, so that anyone who wants to see the beauty of the city from that height can climb it.

Serbs don't like to wear masks and most of them don't know what social or physical distancing is. People stand too close to each other in public places and if you ask someone to move away a little bit they frown at you or make faces at you... lol

People like to explore but yeah it's dangerous to go to abandoned buildings for all sorts of reasons. Reminds me of The Finnish girl stuck in Serbia who likes exploring the abandoned buildings.

DIsaster that struck that buildings and 1000s and 1000s off other across Serbia and ex Yugoslavia was called "privatisation" ..during Yugoslavia they were own by workers then when socialism ended state turn them in to state owned and then sell to private owners for many many times then its real value ..if you were close to people in power you would get whole factories for 1 euro ..then new owner would sell all machines and everything that has any value ,only walls would be left ..if land is off value (if its in mayor cities) it would sold that 2...they were not interested in doing business...just quick buck selling ... so many people were left with out job and had to live the place and their homes .Yugoslavia had 23 500 000 people ...now whole region has less then 20 million people

America has to give enough helps to establish highest wages in the region to Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia. 400 euro to 500 euro net wage levels are not enough to Balkans, it must be similar to Germany, Austria
