The video was really good. I love the mix of the down to earth real you and the pro videoing of history and culture. It's a good mix. That pizza as a street food is crazy! must get all over you with that messy topping. Think I will stick with Proper Pizza here lol. You must be pleased how the channel is progressing ❤
I think your videos are getting visually better all the time! Hope that camera upgrade happens--Skadarlija, like most of Serbia, is a ghost town during these HOT summer afternoons. Most nights are beautiful, though, and that's when you'll see everyone out and about.
Yes, best to go out early in the day or later in the afternoon - and evening. Camera Upgrade... yeah... I have to think about what to do with that situation. First is the issue of figuring out what to get... then is the money side.. and then is the transition, or do I utilize 2 cameras. I have some other YT creator friends and I know what they are using. From a resolution standpoint, I do not shoot in 4K unless indoors... and I do that for the simple reason that I think 1080p looks more cinematic (less harsh) and also is easier to work with editing, uploading and storage wise, My only complaint with my current camera is low light... and that could be fixed with a gimbal.. it just makes the setup bulky and more obvious and I like to be as low key as possible.
toma zdravkovic, the greatest Yugoslav bohemian and soul of a man,,,,, you have the movie TOMA, he was like Tesla, he did what he loved for a better life of people...phenomenal film TOMA
Not true at all! Shkodra is built by Illyrians and their descendants. Illyrians were autochthonous. Serb tribes were barbars colonized in the 7th century from slavs who arrived in Balkans only in the 6th century. Read some real history based on ancient authors.
@@ES-cv9se Give me the names of those ancient authors so that I can learn a little. Read the old Serbian folk poem "Zidanje Skadra na Bojana", it says who built it. And you will perhaps become Illyrians when you learn to swim and sail.
I'm tired of looking at this as an unreplied post. You can get into ancient debates all you like, Serbs are not responsible for building the modern day Shkoder pedestrian walkway that I as comparing it to.
@JayandSarah No worries guys. These people are used to distorting history, even the modern day. Thank you for all your Balkans videos. I do enjoy them a lot!
Thanks! Trying to add some creativity and up the game! Trying to not put too much pressure on, not every video can be as good as others. But it does change my plans for the process of creating videos once I am done editing all the stuff I already have filmed. It's all a learning process... still early in the game on this!
We got alot of real high level naples pizzas here, we got alot of street pizzas, but this one dont have alot of touch with ''pizza'' but we love only this toping, so its better to say ''MOST FAMOUS TOPING'' this ''pizza'' is actualy shet and we went there after full night of alcohol to get us back before going home :DDD, thats how this ''pizza'' become famous :D, yo its hard to eat normal, imagine how its look when u are drrunk hahahahahha, messyyyyyy enjoy guys in serbia
We've had it pretty hot now for 3 months straight, for the most part we go out early or late. I don't film at night, my camera is not very good for that unfortunately. We have left Serbia and are now in Bosnia & Herzegovina. It has been scorching hot here.
Oh boy you picked the wrong time of the year to visit Belgrade. Last several years the summers in Belgrade and the whole Balkan peninsula are extremely hot and muggy, temperature can go to +50C in the sun and even AC i apartments and houses doesn't help too much. You can feel heat coming from above but also from the concrete from the ground and you start to feel you are in northern Africa or Middle East. That's why I tr if I can ti visit my hometown Beograd in the fall September and October when it's a bit coolish. Though I have to say last September was pretty hot in Belgrade, average 35C. The only advice I can give, which you already know, lots of liquid and I mean water 😊, stay in shade and go in the stores or shopping malls as the most of them are air conditioned to cool off. Depending on how long you are in Belgrade, it's healthier to explore the city in the late afternoon hours after 6pm. That's the only way to weather the heat wave🤷 Unfortunately, with all this change in weather patterns and climate, Belgrade and the Balkan Peninsula during the summer feels a lot like Sahara or Middle East when it comes to weather than South East Europe with mild continental climate and 4 seasons. C'est la vie
Yes, very, very hot. It has been hotter than we anticipated in all of the balkans this year. I don't think that would change our minds to return to this area in future years. We now go out early or go out late, no longer in the day but the issue I have filming after the sun goes down is unfortunately my camera (Hero GoPro) does not film well in low light. Maybe I will be able to upgrade in the future. As the channels grows and it generates some income, this might be my next investment in the channel. Thanks for watching and the great comment!!! Jay.
If you want something interesting try pizza Burek. Lot of other food that is a must try like karadjirdjeva šnicla, lamb barbecue, river fish čorba, stuffed paprika, gulas...
Pljeskavica and Burek are symilar. Lot of other food in the north is different. Some of those I already mentioned like river fish, gulas.. Plenty of other. Anyway enjoy!
You nailed the pronunciation of Skadarlija right. Most Americans mess that one up. Bucko pizza is Boo-tz-ko. It's basically a lot of mayo sauce with chicken or beef on a pizza... Young people go there when they go out to drink etc, and they need to eat late at night. So, it's basically a normal pizza with added mayo, and inside the mayo is chicken or beef. In my opinion, too much mayo.
Sounded like Jay put the accent on the 3rd syllable, but I've always heard the accent on the 2nd syllable--Ska-DAR-li-ja. But I'm an American, what do I know.
That pizza is not famous for how good it is lmao. It is famous for being available 24/7. People come there to eat as a rehab after getting wasted from alcohol.
@@JayandSarahThere is definitely places you can get Guinness. I haven't had it in a long time but one of the several irish pubs around town has to have it, plus you can get it in a can in most bigger supermarkets
That thing is not pizza at all, i dont see a hype about bucko pizza. There is a lot better pizza places in town that thing with toppings is just blasphemy
Graffiti are absolutely disgusting. And Belgrade is covered in them, it makes my blood boil everytime I come to centre, Dorcol specifically, where so many beautiful buildings are ruined by them
Wellcome in Belgrade and thanks for nice video !
Thanks for watching! We really like Belgrade, lovely city. Lots of things to see, do and places to eat.
This summer is one of the hottest in years... It's hard even for us locals although we're kind of used to it :)
Yes very hot indeed.
You have to visit Zemun, the best food, music, drinks, people, view, dancing, merak,
Next time we will see other places, this was a short visit to Belgrade to see a friend and we are no longer in Serbia.

Hide in shopping mall when it is too hot, you have one in Knez Mihajlova pedestrian street.
Yes the a/c is a saver!
Miami is coming to Belgrade this September
That's nice.
