I hope you enjoyed todays video! I spent a lot of time researching & gathering RECEIPTS so leaving a like & subscribing is appreciated! Do you think that Monster High would come back with the reboot dolls, the classic dolls, or something else?! I think with the popularity of e-boy/e-girl Monster High could definitely style around the trend of black, plaid, harnesses and chains (much like they always have). Lmk what you think and what you hope to see!
I absolutely like Monster High, Ever After High, Bratz and Disney Princesess do you watched Barbie Top Model 2007 commercial? It was awesome commercial.
Yea I've heard a lot of girls say they would compare themselves to barbie but I never understood that. I never did. She was clearly a doll with the way she was molded. Honestly MH dolls are more "realistic" in my mind because they are more "organic" in the way their bodies flow, even if the proportions are more incorrect. And part of that is that they can bend more but the other part is just the design od each piece. They look more "normal" naked than 90s barbie did. She had almost a literal hour glass figure, like what a corset does, so the clothes looked good on her. It looked more like a playboy bunnies body than most womens bodies. And I think another thing was that I wanted to be tall and willowy with dark brown hair(or blue), and barbie wasnt that. And I've never been that (except the blue hair).
Old men with money who have never touched dolls, or they were that one kid who would take his sister's Barbies and slam their faces on a running treadmill.
The dolls just look like a bootleg dollar store version of themselves , the dolls before were detailed, interesting and had very personalized stories .
The thing is that, they were never scary, they were just different. Kids are not gonna play with something that scares them. This whole rebrand stuff was probably made by Karen moms that just want normative boring stuff for their kids.
Who remembers the once upon a zombie dolls?! Those weren’t as scary as a them? And I also loved those dolls! They were so cool and they just shut down. 😭
I rather still listen to “we are monsters, we are proud”. The Reboot in my opinion is bad. I actually miss lot’s of characters I really liked and the story is boring.
I can't agree on this. Ever after high's storyline is way more darker and dare I say, more thought out than monster high. It would lose it's creative part and become just the new Disney dolls.
@@Paris-jv8xo about the autistic part I'm not sure, but one of the writers of Ever After high: Dragon Games has literally proven that Apple White and the prince's sister were meant to be a true pairing, so LGBT is there for sure.
the original monster high showed a message to young girls telling them that its okay to have flaws, and to embrace them no matter what people say, and now they changed how the dolls look because of what people said. :/
"Be yourself, be unique" that was the message Monster High was spreading. Telling kids it's okay to be different. The show had the main girls help new ghouls and mansters accept their differences and help them feel welcome at Monster High. Heck, they weren't even friends at the start. They themselves had to overcome their differences and become the awesome friends they are now. Totally trashed that message with the reboot.
Yeah. It was a little cliche with the message but I was impressed with the delivery. You know how at times they write for a younger demographic and just toss out crap because they're young kids, but they actually did rather well. Can't remember the name of the Valentine's day one I think it was "why do ghouls fall in love" I was deeply impressed that they actually pointed out the differences between love and romantics (which Disney had been guilty of conflating with love for awhile). Sad to see that change.
These dolls made me feel like I had a community when they came out. I was in elementary school at the time and I was super into gothic stuff but no one else around me was. When I saw monster highdolls were coming out I watched the web shorts and I loved them so much and as soon as my birthday came around that was all i wanted
Caleigh Tilson me too! I was so into creepy cool stuff like scary movies or dark clothing and when monster high came out it made me feel more comfortable being who I was and that there were other girls out there who liked the same things as I did at a young age
Wasn’t a Monster High all about loving yourself no matter what “freaky flaws” you have and that was why they were monsters? It was supposed to be good for self-esteem and what not…
In my opinion, if they made Ever after high the more "younger friendly" Franchise. And kept monster high the tweens franchise, it could have worked out better for them.
They were too scary? I thought Monster High’s message was to embrace your differences and show people that they don’t have to be scared! Not to just change yourself all together!
So true because the old MH were telling children and even some teens that they should always be their selfs no matter what and when they did the reboot it's almost like they were saying looking cute is better than being yourself which is so not true.
@@moonbcw_ yeah my parents loved how they where different and now every time we see one of the reboots we frown at it because how can something so good become a barbie
I want the OG monster high back, the sets, the clothes. I now have a daughter and I want her to enjoy a cool, expressive, alternative and yes, GOTH ass doll.
I own almost all of the monster high dolls. I bought them for myself because I love them! My daughters are too old to play with dolls (as if that’s a thing) now. I liked them because they are like Bleeding Edge and Livingdead Dolls but way more “playable”.
@@noniakamai2458 omg I remember these!! There's not a lot of dolls like this unless you go expensive or custom. These were fantastic for a great price! I started collecting as a teen because I had a "phase" and I remembered the book.
@@ambertoennies2353 I'm 15 and I have a few, but I love them so much! I've watched the movies too many times with my friends when we go camping, but I still watch them lol. They're entertaining no matter how many times you watch them
The whole thing about monster high is that they were weird and strange-looking, but they were beautiful and cool anyway. It was good for little girl's self-esteem. The reboot threw that idea out the window and made them all stereotypically pretty. Mattel ruined their own franchise by changing what made the dolls unique and popular. And they got rid of some damn good characters, like Clawd and Jackson and Holt. Speaking of which, I will drag these boys back into the reboot if I have to die trying.
And by rebooting it, they threw out all of the movies and shows. There's a movie that focuses on over coming diversity between vampires and werewolves that meant so much to me as a kid. Their entire gimmick was to be yourself, be a monster. It's entire meaning was diversity.
when i was younger i loved these characters. Im a big fantasy lover so having a doll with wings or a tail or ears was awesome. Like i had torali and the cat twins and my favourite part was that you could remove torali's tail and move the twins. Now my goddaughter has all my monster high dolls (shes 3 and finds them scary) but in a few years she might find some of them cool. Shes kinda lovin sylvainian families. But anyway thoses dolls made by childhood, so many memories of me and my best friend playing with them. They completely ruined the franchise with the reboot.
FOR REAL. trust me, if little me heard about a cartoon character who likes being shaved cuz they dislike the feeling of hair ("fur") on them, i wouldn't bat an eye. i didn't give a heck about my appearance as a kid, it's adults who made me feel self-conscious with their not so sensitive words. NOT A MFKING DOLL
@@SapphireeCos If you're talking gen 3/3.5, I get it, they looked like babies and the stories were practically nothing, but if you're talking gen 4, they may be cuter-looking than many of the previous iterations of MLP, but the story and lore in the show was epic on a level not seen from MLP since gen 1. *That's* what got people interested in gen 4 MLP.
I hate how they just ignored Monster High's purpose: You don't have to look like everyone else, you can be unique. Now, theses dolls that used to be so cool, original and unique, are like any other doll... And i feel bad for EAH too. The story and dolls were so beautiful. Let's see how Mattel ruins Barbie now, huh.
Why do the adults always have to sexualize children's toys, and ruin them? Why can't children just have fun, without adults saying it's "too scary" or "too inappropriate", like who cares what you think, why can't we ask the KIDS instead? Smh
I remember as a little girl I wasn't into princessy or bride dolls. Yeah, I used to like mlp (G2 used to be around when I was younger) as I loved animals , and the knock-off barbies that didn't have that much make up on . But all there was around that time were overly girly Barbie, Bratz and MyScene dolls. I would have loved some Monster High style dolls back then. I don't like the fact that they must make everything so girly. Not all little girls are girly girls...
As a kid I was obsessed with monster high, barbie, frozen and EAH. I remember my bff at the time gave me her MH dolls cause my mum couldn’t afford them..but as I grew up I threw them away because I thought I was too old for them. I regret that now because I’m just now getting back into the MH fandom
S T A R R Y ツ Me too. Now when I come over to see my younger sister, she wants to play dolls. I’m looking and all she has are the “New Barbie”, and “OMG” dolls, which are almost knockoff Bratz. I was genuinely shocked, no Bratz, no Monster High, just carbon copy Barbie with different skin tones and lots of makeup.
The part where it said the original dolls had " No meaningful message" got me so mad. The origina dolls' message was that you don't have to change, and to embrace how you look!
Literally my favourite part of the franchise. I wish parents could see how important it is for weird kids to have their weird dolls :( I feel sorry for new generations
Like its just a doll Karen, chill! LOL Karen: *complains about MH dolls negatively affecting young girls minds* Also Karen: *Lets daughter twerk to Cardi B on tik tok* Yeah the dolls are the problem...
Not to be mean about mattel but I've noticed a trend, whenever a doll line of theirs becomes really successful all of a sudden they go heck it up with a reboot or do something which ruins the toy line for the fans
I love the team over at Mattel, I think they have some insanely creative concepts and visions - but I have noticed a trend where Barbie is always their priority, so if something is interfering with Barbie sales, they WILL prioritize Barbie over it. I think given Barbie is such a staple to Mattel, and is the longest-running fashion doll in existence it makes sense - however - seeing as their profits are lower than they've ever been, I think it's time for a renaissance.
It truly is only because parents complain. Parents not only complained about monster high being either "to slutty" or "to scary" they also complained about barbie dolls being to skinny, so they released plus sized versions, (which i could see why because everyone is beautiful on the inside and out) what i'm really waiting for rn is for parents to go after LOL dolls because unlike monster high and bratz dolls who were teenagers and represented teen fashion trends of the era, while LOL dolls are literal babies dressed like hookers. These karens need to go complain to the manager and stop ruining moments for children to just have fun.
"Too scary" BRUH WHEN I WAS LITTLE, I WAS SCARED EVEN OF MY SHADOW, I was such a scared cat, And I LOVED, Monster high, they never scared me, I even sleep with them near by me and I felt safe I hate this people I just wish that Monster high moved to other toy company like disney did with hasbro...
The whole point of Monster High is being unique and not caring what other people think. So for these parents to be so upset doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Exactly. Just leave the old ones be and don't buy them if you hate them so much. I can't believe Monster High didn't fight back because if I was the owner I would fight back and say, "Then don't buy them."
exactly- i feel after 2016 they stopped being true to themselves and their slogan " be unique be a monster ". it didn't matter what you looked like all it matters was that you were being yourself.
I used to work at a toy store, and we sold Monster High dolls. That was exactly the point of the dolls, and I don't get how anyone can NOT see it. They're about loving yourself even when your different, all of them are friends when though they're different species with different tastes and hobbies. That's what dolls are all about. They're about empathy.
Monster High was not inappropriate or scary. They’re dolls that are monsters they are not supposed to be realistic? And if your kid is scared of them simply don’t buy them. If they had not done the reboot they would have continued to make great sales. I played with these from when I was about 7 and I was not scared at all. Doesn’t make sense, they should bring them back with the old design. They’d make lots of money off of teenagers who played with them as kids and collectors alone.
I feel like the advertising really messed with how people saw the dolls. When I first saw the commercials as a little little kid upon the dolls original release, I automatically assumed that I was too young for them. But when we saw them in stores, it was completely different. They didn't look scary or overly mature, so we bought some. Then I started getting into the webisodes and realized that the actual style and tone of the brand were completely different from the advertising. Though I think the advertising may have stayed a problem even as it changed, because even when it was very different from its original advertising, they still kind of tried to stick with the whole dark and scary lighting kind of thing. Which I guess made parents believed that the dolls were too scary or mature for their kids.
I agree. All these Karens are so stupid enough to realize that they could just not buy the dolls. I liked Monster High and didn't see anything that was inappropriate or scary. They are monsters. Some parents don't know what "fun" is.
I agree i played with them around 7 as well never once did I find them scary or to sexual i never even knew that what they were wearing was apparently sexual lmao I loved these dolls i really hope they come back
as a child, ive always DREAMED of owning an original edgy monster high doll we all love, im a little older now and they rebooted the entire doll line, how disappointing 😔
The dolls were so unique and not like the other boring barbie dolls. They were so pretty and wild with their clothes and hair and makeup. Now they just ruined the dolls. But I'm lucky because I have three Monster High Dolls. They are the old pretty ones and not the boring ones.I love my dolls
I actually managed to get a Clawdeen one for Christmas in the 1st grade in 2014. I don't really watch MH anymore but after seeing what they've done I'm holding onto it forever.
I have a box full of dolls both ever after and montster high. Then another box for the school, the car, lagoonas and clawdeens beds and much more. That was my childhood :( Me and my friends would with dress like them for halloween we were the clawdeen, cleo, and Lagoona. Hell even my mom liked them, sucked they had to to do this.
I think its more because children don't understand the difference between mature and not, and could lead to some sexual subliminal stuff become normalized to small children when they are not capable of understanding why sexualization is an adult thing. But I just mean if parents get defensive its not because they see it sexualized, i think because in the age of the internet its hard to control *who* sees and interacts with kids/teens. I'm not taking sides here im just trying to give an idea if the other sjde
I can kind of see where thier coming from I mean children like to dress as thier favorite characters. Most of the audience for shows about high schoolers is younger kids who want to be like them. Quite a few parents make adaptations to certain costumes that to a teen is fine but to a 5 year old kid....yikes. worst case I can think of was a black and white Shirley temple short) this was not just costumes but a shirley temple short where they had toddlers wearing burlesque costumes and doing a plot line that could easily be part of an adult romance section. (Girl goes to big city either has to work at the club/higher end pub as a performer or marry the older owner. (Guy who goes after any girl he sees despite saying he's in love with one girl) She is saved by her country boyfriend.) not only is it uncomfortable it also makes me wonder why it was ever made. True I would never wear most of the outfits monster high girls wear but then again I dress old fashioned. However unlike them (those who complained about this) I've learned long ago my idea of modesty in clothing is not shared by everyone. How people dress is up to them. I might not be comfortable in such an outfit but it's not me wearing it. This is true in real life but also with dolls. Makes sense that dolls based on high schoolers have clothing that high schoolers would wear. Seriously theirs dolls that are worse out thier that over sexualize something that is branded as a kids toy. Why pick on monster high dolls?
@@crazycrackinchick thank you for mentioning it here. I'm glad I wasn't the only one to jump and explain this. Overreaction on karens part is not justified by a flame war by outraged fans. Instead a constructive way to show it is best.
I'm not gonna lie to you, they now look _exactly_ like those bootlegs you'd find at fairs. Makes me relieved that back when I was still a kid I got the og version.
That would be like complaining that Digimon have designs that are too scary or dark. They're also MONSTERS, even the angelic or holy ones. And fans of Digimon always say that the evil, demonic, undead, mutated, or cybernetic ones tend to have cooler designs, and that's part of the charm. If this were to happen to Digimon as well, then say goodbye to fan favorites like Beelzemon, Mephistomon, and Kimeramon.
This idea that little girls compare themselves to Barbie I think is rediculous. I played with Barbie dolls, I played with bratz dolls, I played with mh dolls and none of my self esteem problems came from playing with them, itbcame from the constant bullying I faced and which no adult in my life was willing to protect me from or even try to help. Adults like to blame kids’ problems on things adults don’t like so they don’t have to do any actual work. I liked bratz and mh dolls because they were weird and different and had a certain attitude. It never occurred to me, a child, that the dolls were “too sexy”.
To be fair, I think it's more about the design subconsciously affecting children, girls in particular. If you've been affected by something for years in childhood w/o subconsciously, you wouldn't know it.
homeiswonderland again I think people need to deal with the real problems, like bullying, rather than place the blame on dolls. Realistically I don’t think there are that many people aside from people who have self image disorders who are negatively affected by how dolls look. Also it’s not just about girls, ever seen a doll meant to be played with by boys? If it happens to girls it most certainly happens to boys too, and I quite frankly just don’t think it’s that deep.
SkyrimBarbie True. And besides, parents buy the dolls so if they felt their child specifically has self esteem issues that was their responsibility to buy certain products for them. Not many adults have conversations with their kids about their bodies. With the internet, it’s easy for kids and teens to get information and false information too. I know my mom only told me “boys have this part and girls have this one.” Yet I could have Barbie, Bratz, and MH. So some parents just don’t like talking about anything difficult.
The design of my Monster High dolls and Barbies never affected me as a kid. You know what did? My own parents constantly calling me fat and telling me if I don’t eat healthy, I won’t get a husband when I’m older. And yes, they’re the same people who would frequently talk about the “gross” message that MH dolls give to kids.
I remember I had a friend with a medium sized scar in her face, you needed to be kinda close to her to notice it but she was hella self-conscious even tho the kids never said nothing about it, they were pretty nice, but she always was covering it with her hand or scarf or anything at all, then Monster High came out and little girls were obsessed with them. So my friend saw how people loved Frankie Stein (and obviously the others lol ) and unconsciously she became more confident about it, even she said stuff like she would dress up as her and so on. The dolls never made me feel something like that but I was happy that she was happy :')
Regardless of them "keeping up with the trends" the reason why we all love Monster High was because they look like no other doll. so what is the point of Monster High keeping up with the trends when we loved it because it wasn't keeping up with the trends of fashion. It was emo/goth/scene fantasy for every weird kid out there. Makes no sense to make the dolls look more childish when the dolls were created for an older crowd anyway. Them trying to win the love over people who didn't like the toy anyway backfired horribly because the true fans who love them for what they were don't even want them now
I was a kid too, I never really cared for Barbie being skinny, I was focused on the fashion, the fantasy...and imagine how much I GAGGED when I discovered Monster High. I can't say the same for every kid but it almost seems like parents are putting words in their children's mouths. For all I know, I was not 9 years old, playing with my dolls and thinking "Damn, I wanna look like that, I wanna be as skinny as that"...all I really cared about is play, which is the SOLE PURPOSE of dolls. Dolls are not political subjects, not social commentaries. They are DOLLS.
I loved them because they all had their own styles and were different from eachother. They had different heights, different builds, different styles, different backgrounds, and different likes. They weren't just the same thing over and over again but with different outfits. I did love the outfits as well, though. I loved how unique the outfits were and how it wasn't just a colour mess, rather than colour combos and black. Just my opinion tho.
Personally, I do like the idea of dolls having a bigger variety of body types, but Monster High honestly made me feel _good_ about myself. It never gave me body image issues. I'm part of a spooky family. My dad's kind of punk/gothabilly, my mom is constantly mistaken for a vampire, and I was raised on horror movies, goth culture, and year-round Halloweeny-ness. I genuinely love that stuff, but I also spent a lot of time wishing I was "normal," when my only idea of what "normal" meant was what TV, movies, and dolls told me. So to see something like Monster High was really cool. Adults are constantly deciding what's best for kids without asking them.
It's honestly disappointing for me. I'm a boy, and when I was younger when Monster High was becoming a big thing I loved it but my parents were still in the whole "That's just for girls, you can't have that" mindset. Now I'm older and I can finally be myself and they accept me but Monster High is so budgeted and cheap that to get any of the old good stuff you have to pay a lot more. I'm hoping to get Skulltimate Roller Maze Operetta soon though. Edit: Forgot to mention that most dolls I want are over $100 usually Edit again: My parents are actually still idiots and say that I'm to old for dolls.
@@KitKat-is5qg exactly, my parents never let me have plastic or too girly toys as they wanted me to be "a strong woman" i had to fight to get makeup haha. now im in highschool and they frown at me collecting dolls. im not gonna stop though its my money.
I’m like actually pissed off about this. I was the hugest MH stan when I was a kid bc their dolls were so unique and original. How dare they contradict the whole slogan of the dolls with this reboot :(( I feel bad for this new generation, this is what they have to play with
I remember I used to have a sweet 16 draculaura (or whatever) locked in some box. it was the only doll I had left, and of course I lost it. God knows where it is.
What the creators and parents missed was the dolls were never about body proportions and self image. I never looked at a monster high doll expecting to be one as a child. It was about the freaky fashion, awesome and exaggerated makeup, and fun characters. But most of all it was about imagination. Dolls are an escape to places you can’t reach and styles you don’t wear. Monster high dolls always gave an amazing message and if adults cared they would have known that. Monster high’s entire brand was embracing life freaky flaws and all. What was an inspiring collection of fun dolls and movies became some blue barbies. The factor that set barbie and monster high apart was the fashion and audience. If the parents wanted vanilla dolls there is a wide variety of barbies however they decided to come after the one and only monster high. The dolls were unique not only for the fashion but because they weren’t boring and regular they were wild. I loved them because I wasn’t looking for a boring barbie I wanted a goth monster high doll. I wanted a doll to be what I couldn’t be. Monster high designers and fans deserved a high quality line but instead got a downgrade. However there is a way to solve this. If there was Monster High and Ever After High crossover all would be restored. The movie would provide a positive message as well as a an amazing story line. It would be a great promotion for new dolls and new freaky fashion. They could use this to release new MH dolls as well as draw the EAH fandom back and make an new line with new dolls. They could use this to bring not only one but two of their biggest sellers back on the market. These dolls aren’t a made for ages 7 and under so a choking hazard symbol puts the responsibility on the caretakers. Remember parents, the toys you buy for your kids are not the brand’s responsibility. If you bought the toy you also need to make sure it’s safe. It’s extremely selfish for you to ask a brand to change their dolls for an entirely new audience.
I loved Bratz if they wanted their children to play with Bratz that look childish then buy Bratz Kidz thats why they exist, thats why Bratz Babyz exsist for different age groups, parents need to chill
As a 13 year old girl. When I was younger I loved the monster high doll for how “scary” they were. I liked that they didn’t look like Barbie doll and I loved the intricate outfits and paint job. I really don’t like the new ones I’m actually really sad about what happened to them. They were so awesome and I love doll collecting. However I can barley find any of the old ones.
Same:( and since my family couldn’t really afford to buy me those dolls not even enough to have a small collection I only have one or two from when I was a kid they were only selling the new ones is stores like Walmart and target (I don’t really like them) and in Amazon if you purchase it the box comes damaged or the doll does or something 😞😰all I want is some nice original nostalgic monster high dolls I know and loved
I was in a really bad time in my life when these dolls came out. My sister was born with severe medical problems and I was scared what people were going to say when they saw her because she didn't act or look the same. She was different and I was different. Monster High gave me hope that other people would accept her and myself. I am so disappointed that they took away that message from the new generation that truly needs it. Everyone is different, it doesn't matter your race, religion, sexual orientation and ect. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and acceptance. It should matter as who you are not what you are.
This comment should've been the top comment. These strict parents HAD to ruin this for us and they are basically saying that being unique is a bad message and looking cute and kiddish is the way to look and I totally disagree. I loved Monster High as it was.
When I was 10 I saw Frankie Stein and I fell in love instantly with her! I never saw her as scary of freaky but every adult I showed her off to was terrified of her 😅
@@mangoshateu361 I mean. Theres also a HUGE doll customizing scene that was fueled and spawned from MH that were adults buying it, not just kids. So no it's not just bad mothers complaining about it and not buying it. The concept of them was always going to put them off from buying it. The EAH dolls were the perfect compliment to the kids or mothers who didnt want the MH dolls. The bigger eyes, rounder porportions but still able to fit many similar clothing items. And of course, the concept being less "scary".
depends on the kid, me as a kid watched courage and goosebumps without ever getting scared. meanwhile my niece who is older than I was when I first saw courage got a nightmare, it was not even one of the scariest episodes.
I'm confused as too how the dolls were inappropriate...... Like I didn't give a care if clawdeen had on a pair of thigh high boots. I cared about how much I loved her character and wanting to expand my own version of monsters high ( like the actual school). It make me sad that they got screwed over. My little sister even said the new monster high dolls are cheap. And they cost the line trying to change the theme song.
The new dolls look oddly disturbing compared to the cute and familiar looks of the old ones. Like how do they manage when trying to make something more child friendly and wholesome to make it look freaky and scary
@@agb8206 Is it weird that I think that the Reboot looks more scary than the Original? 😅😂 Idk I just think that they looked already kinda cute. Also the huge eyes in the reboot version scared the heck out of me lol
I miss how monster high used to look. I remember in kindergarten I’d be so happy when I’d come home to see my mom had bought me a new doll. Maybe it’s just me, but the reason why they redid them is the reason why I liked them. They were my favorite dolls because of the creepy/edgy vibe they put off, which made them different from other dolls. It just makes me sad that the new look they have just ruins all their uniqueness they once had.
They could have just created new monster characters, preferably little sisters, cousins and even foreign exchange students for younger kids it would make sense for the new design with the big doe eyes and less makeup, brighter colors and the older characters would be fine as they were.
I really like that idea. I think a collection of middle school/elementary aged dolls for HM would be really cool. They could even could even play it off of one of Clawdeen's young siblings or maybe Frankie could have a younger sister 'made,' rather than aging the main cast down.
The whole 'Monster Family' aspect was legit the only good part with the reboot, although I still don't think Cleo should have any siblings aside from Nefera ;)
I don't get why parents who thought Monster High was so scary couldn't have just bought their kids Ever After High or Enchantimals dolls instead? Especially Enchantimals that are actually aimed at a younger audience. But yes, I absolutely agree! A middle school spin off would have been perfect!
@@MyBubbleInSpace cause some parents don't want to be responsible enough to decide what they want their own kids to be exposed too. And blame a company for making a product that is CLEARLY for an older demographic. Seriously, just tell your kids that they can get a Monster high doll when they are a tad bit older and until then, you can have any doll from these other brands.😋
They could do an ‘early years’ spin off with the characters as kids instead of preteens or teens. When they did the bratz as babies oh god that stuff was awesome. I still have baby version of the twins in a toy box i have saved in my closet. They could have kept making normal monster high and just had different levels of them honestly so the line could pander to everyone at a more personal fit.
Yeah! I’m surprise they didn’t make a spinoff with all the ‘younger siblings’ or something! like, still same universe but its the more childish shenanigans of the little kids (and you make parents happy by saying something like “this is a toy line to encourage your older and younger kids to play together!”)
Monster High was one of those things that made my childhood. I was always into macabre and horror, even as a child. A lot of kids thought I was weird and creepy. Monster High helped me feel more comfortable with myself, and ultimately helped make me into who I am today.
The only dolls I really liked was monster high dolls because they were “scary” and different. I related to them more than I related to barbie and Disney princesses.
I never had bratz or MLP but i will say MH now sucks. being a eleven year old, the dolls were awesome but now im selling my stuff after how bad the quality is. EAH wasnt downgraded tho.
No offence to Disney and descendants BUT PLS THEY REMOVED EAH, THE ICONIC SERIES WITH ACTUALLY INTERESTING AND FABULOUS CHARACTER DESIGNS FOR A SHITTY “NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS” MOVIE ABOUT CHILDREN IN LEATHER CLOTHING IM WEAK- 😭
as a child I thought monster high and ever after high were the best. They made me think that maybe it's okay to be different. Maddie and Bonita Femur made me feel like I was completely normal. I was always told that I was paranoid and or crazy so when I saw a character who was jumpy made me happy. and Maddie was always talking to herself or just non stop talking, I saw characters acting normal around them and made me feel like I could find friend that treat me the same way
Tbh when monster high came out i was like 4-5 and i got my first doll then and tbh monster high made me feel more comfortable about myself being different by personality and things like that:) now that im 15 i still love monster high and collect them and genuinely dont give a shit cause i get judged for it :)cant wait for next year for it to come back
Artist: ** exaggerates female proportions** Parents: Ew! That's sick! How could you promote that!??? Artist: **Exaggerates male proportions** Parents: Cool!
I am a skinny girl with small boobs, a little bit of ass, a small waist and a bit of a belly. Basically, a non-exaggerated version of Monster High dolls. So I really loved them as a little girl and they made me feel way better about myself compared to other dolls. Also, they are monsters so they clearly going with the scary theme by giving them slim and long limbs
my mother LOVED playing monster high dolls with me and she was EXTREMELY horrified at the reboot,it actually broke her heart,my mother always found monster high dolls cute and wanted me to have the influence that they gave me,now being 14,I like to walk in the toy isles at stores to see if there are still any normal monster high dolls, and I never get to see anything like how I used to see,I miss them,I want my childhood friends back.
There is a low chance to find monster high dolls at a store from now.. I found 1 frankie doll sadly reboot but thr package was broken and the doll was good so thats why nobody else wanted to buy it So maybe look for thrift stores Or search under the shells where the monster high dolls where
I remember just looking down this isle to see a section of black and just knowing it was monster high I still do it sometimes without thinking and it always breaks my heart
Honestly, this is my childhood...monster high was my life, I remember always getting arms from a clawdeen doll and would put them on a cat girl doll, I played with them alot, seeing monster high get a reboot and loose all the creativeness in them, it hurts gee thanks *KaReNnn*
Monster high was literally made for tweens, not little children. Why are people making such a fuss over how they used to look. I honestly would never in my life buy the new ones.
I’m so happy my sister was OBSESSED with monster high dolls and has tons of them but anyways YES WE NEED A PETITION I CANT EXPLAIN ENOUGH HOW I WANT THEM BACK INSTEAD OF THESE PLAIN BOOTLEGS
If Monster High was “too scary”, “too dark”, “teaching stuff that’s bad” why would you let your children watch it in the first place? Holy cow I got 219 likes 0-0 not expected but thanks anyways!!
Maybe I understand that wrong, but to me it sounds like parents were not letting their children watch the shows or play with the dolls, so to try to gain that crowd Mattel made the changes.
i get so freaking annoyed when ppl complain about dolls proportions like mh or barbie. first of all they a clearly CARTOONS they are exaggerated, not realistic. the dolls arent “underweight”, their heads are STYLISTICALLY too large for their bodies and their limbs are extended. no one complains about a cartoon having legs too long or bodies too small for their heads. secondly dolls need to have proportions like this or clothes often look strange on them because of the fabric thickness at that scale. besides, if u dont want ur kids to have the dolls, dont buy them. simple
People do actually complain about cartoons. Disney Princess's are unrealistic standards for girls as well. And the companies make the dolls aspirational which is why the body proportions bother people.
and i have never seen a kid even mention it before, literally no child cares, it's always the parents projecting their own insecurities onto their children
Thats the problem though, people don't buy it if they dont like it. Without money, there's no reason to continue making them. We create the market. All we can do to change it is spend our money with purpose and hope the companys listen before they tank.
I’m sorry but I dislike the reboot with a passion I think is too cute. Monster High was the peak of my life, I always thought they where the best dolls in the market. Because it was so unique and you could connect with the characters.
Monster high was "inappropriate" or "sexy"? Has any of those mothers seen LOL dolls? Those are literally baby dolls with (most of the time) inappropriate sculpting/clothes!
BRUH I REMEMBER MY ENTIRE CHILDHOOD SHATTERED WHEN THE LITTLEST PET SHOP TOYS GOT REDESIGNED! THANK GOD I WAS TOO OLD TO PLAY WITH THEM WHEN IT HAPPENED BUT IT STILL MADE ME FEEL SO SAD.
;-; I'm not the only one? I asked for some a long while after I had outgrew them because of nostalgia and I didnt get what I asked for, they are nothing like they used to be....why do Karen's ruin all the good toys
As someone who was often bullied growing up for being “different” monster high dolls meant SO much to me. The showed me that I could be loud and charismatic while also having my own blips and “freaky flaws” it was okay to be a little strange.... idk overall when they discontinued I felt a little disheartened...
The fact that parents complain about dolls is so stupid, they never complain about action man having abs cuz surely that’s something that can be sexualised? Yet they complain about the female dolls, seems like a lot of insecure mothers projecting their insecurities into their kids, it’s sad and pathetic.
this is for roughly the second time that the parents have also interferes with Mattel's toy like they whinged about Barbie as well way back in the late 70s and the 80s when they decide to change Barbie's look because of one thing it's a toy a placing it's not meant to represent anything it's meant to put the child and fantasy of them being barber for the day or Barbie for part of their lives but this in Barbie meant to represent was it like to be a child to know you can actually have a career when you grow up to be a woman they just toys from crying out loud
I know! As someone who was made fun of in the locker rooms for having a skinny, or “anorexic” body as other girls put it, I liked seeing dolls who had bodies like mine.
Angharad Ceridwen right? When I got into these dolls, I never felt like they pandered towards me or something😂 I've heard of adults complaining that fashion dolls pander towards little girls, and would lead to girls wanting an unrealistic body??? Like I never felt that way! Dolls are meant to be played with! Not brainwashing kids into looking a certain way. Why cant parents just let their kids have innocent fun? I doubt a lot of little girls grew up with the idea that they have to look pretty
Dolly Dream literally, the reason I was so drawn to bratz over Barbies was because as a child I was heavily into fashion which now I’m an adult I’m looking to start a career in fashion, the whole argument these parents make that fashion dolls don’t inspire young girls to have a future beyond looking pretty is stupid, like barbies had every fucking career she could possibly have, she’s even been an astronaut ffs. The reason dolls look pretty including action man dolls is because children live in fantasy land and part of growing up is realising fantasy land doesn’t exist, why can’t these parent let their kids live in bliss while they still can 😂
When I was younger, monster high taught me that it was okay to be different. All the characters were so unique and cool and the webisodes and movies really made my childhood a lot more memorable. Parents complaining is partially a reason for the reboot and I feel like that is completely going against monster high’s mottos. Changing something to fit in with society’s “norms” is not spreading a positive message at all. I am so happy that I grew up with the original monster high instead of the reboot, it was such a huge influence on me, it changed my perspective on life and even my fashion. I hope Mattel can return to the old storyline and dolls and that we can all just forget that this reboot existed.
They are dolls based on a fictional show right? So did anyone expect them to look realistic? The show has monster in the name and complaining that it is kinda scary for her children. Like K A R E N I watched the show when I was four with no problem with it being the slightest bit scary.
Sameee . I watched the show and all the movies when I was a child , my aunt even bought me a couple of dolls , and they weren't scary AT ALL . They had their own personalities and unique backstories. For me , Monster High are the best dolls
My sister was scared of literally everything when she was seven, even chickens, but she watched the hell out of Monster High and was never scared of that
Monster High has always been a really high quality play doll line pre- reboot. I mean, the clothes were always top notch and detailed to the highest degree, the molding had fun details too! The articulation was my favorite part, the playability factor AND the poseability made them leagues ahead of most fashion dolls at the time. I'm also really into monstery things, I've always been sort of a horror fan so when I was a child as I first saw these rolling out, my little morbid hesrt couldn't contain itself and I was instantly hooked. As a long time fan who lived my ENTIRE childhood with Monster High, I'll be glad to see their fierceness step up again to the glory it once was. Only time will tell, I guess.
They weren't even that scary. Never got those litle brats complaining online, it's not like girls are gonna look at them and think "I want to be like them" Because rhe style doesn't lend itself to that and no realizing it is being Simply dumb
Literally same for me, I absolutely LOVED the dolls when I first saw them! Ever After High and Monster High were the only dolls I ever played with for my whole life, and I still play with them
Wasnt the whole point of monster high to teach kids that it’s okay to be different? If you dont like the doll, then dont buy it for your kid, theres no need to ruin it for everyone and take down the whole line 🙄
Disney ripped of EAH You can say it, we all know it Also, kids hardly ever said they were scary. It was mostly Karen. And finally, Monster High had the exact same controversy Barbie had back in the day: she's to mature. Because that's what children want, dolls that aren't babies or children, but adults that have other different lives
It's interesting because truthfully - I only ever saw ONE viral Facebook post saying Monster High was scary in the YEARS I've collected, and that was of the Peri & Pearl styling head. Within the makeup industry, I know companies receive a lot of letters & messages so it's possible the Karen's™ constantly said they were scary which is why I don't argue they're sizzle, but like...They're MONSTERS, of course, they're a little creepy, what did people expect?
@@Clawdeena9 exactly my point! I just don't understand how you can be against dolls that give such a possitive message just because "They are scary". But i mean... Karens will be Karens i guess
exaclty as well as the fact that kids don't even play with toys as much as the used to unfortunately. kids and adults were buying monster high (and ever after high). even teenagers brought them as they weren't seen as "childish". i know some teenagers who used to have them are now rebuynig them as monster high was so cool. no one liked barbie because they're aren't anything special. but just because angry moms called the dolls "sexy" and etc, and i think for some reason mattel felt like they had to appeal to a young generation which didn't make sense as 7 year olds were buying the dolls before the reboot. then when the reboot happened no one liked them as they looked too "childish", or a copy of barbie.
@Caleb Hopkins there was this really fun restaurant rush game, I forgot the name but it is no longer in the app store, it was so much fun, you could collect charactors
There's Karens that were basically saying Clawdeen's shaving, waxing, and plucking makes girls ashamed of their bodies. Last time I checked, I wasn't ashamed of my body when I had Clawdeen's dolls.
okay if they continued with the original storyline that would be insane, and like you said, pretend this reboot never even happened. i’d be so into it- especially the ever after high and monster high crossover. if they don’t have enough to truly continue the storyline, then they should conclude it with a graduation day with the original characters. idk i think that would be insane. do you happen to know anything about that pennywise doll they said they’d be releasing? or did that get cancelled too because it’s not on the website anymore
Maybe they took it down since they haven't been officially revealed? They were literally suppose to release this summer if they're already cancelled i swear to god
Piggybacking on this, if they truly wanted to reboot for a "younger audience", why not make a spin-off of the next generation? All the ghouls are in high school, and they can't stay there forever, so why not end the "current" series with them all graduating and moving on, but to start the reboot fast forward to their kids? Us older fans might not like it after a while, but I think it'd be nice to see stuff like "does lagoona and Gil's relationship make it" "what do their kids look like, are they hybrids or not" etc.
Tulip YES literally. i am a film maker so what i plan to do during this quarantine and after ap exams- I am going to create a stop motion film of “how monster high should’ve ended” and i’m currently writing a script. hopefully one day mattel can end what they started or just create a new set of students for monster high (like the children of the originals)
The thing is, the freaky fright that was in the old monster high makes them what they are! Like you said the monster high dolls and shows where for teenagers so if parents don’t like it they just shouldn’t let there children watch it! It’s not sexual unless you make it sexual! I hope they give back the old monster high. That’s my WHOLE entire childhood!
they weren't scary, they just worked on a well-crafted theme about how different we all are and that these differences make us unique and special. I am very sorry that they no longer believed in the incredible potential they have and I hope that they will not do the same with ever after high.
8:33 one of the things that was always cool about MH is that they were so much cooler than Barbie but the same price. Now their the same price but not as cool looking. They kinda all look the same now...
I was slightly "too old" (or just over playing dolls) when these got released in my country but I still bought one cuz I was a goth teen. I still would buy MH dolls if they sold them nowadays and def would want my kids to play with them too! I've always been underweight and NEVER in my life did I think of dolls bodies as something to want to look like, I always knew they were dolls and then i'd look at hannah montana and look up to her, a HUMAN like me lol
yeah monsterhighs are weirdly thin but they're so thin that everyone knows that its unrealistic. Even kids. I was obsessed with monster high as a kid till my mother forced me to sell them when I was 11,12. the reboot makes me sad. Somehow every reboot nowadays is just bullshit
The attention to detail put to these dolls was on a whole new level. I was in college when I started collecting them. Now I'm sad I didn't collect more
@@Mirani. I forget the specifics but prince charming sister kissed one of the other girls to wake her up from a spell. It's been a long time since I watched it, so I might be remembering everything wrong, but that was basically the context. It wasnt romantic.
Back in 2017, I really loved their dolls. It was kinda expensive for my country, so I only get to buy one doll in my birthday. I thought they're really unique and cute.
Dude I’m an adult now but I’m scared to give away my Monster High dolls because I’ll never find them again 😭😭 And I just really love the character design of the original dolls and movies and shorts
I totally get it!! Everything about the classic monster high just felt.."fright"! In 2016 a flood washed away a lot of my doll collection, and our insurance company refused to cover that loss (literally the same time as MH's reboot ) - so I've been spending 3X the price of their original cost to recollect all over again 😭Hold tight to those ghouls!!
Tammy Mae you definitely should never give them away.In like 10 years or less, they would be so rare and expensive to find! I have a monster high doll and I am forever keep them.
Same! I’m turning seventeen soon, and I have started giving my dolls away to leave my room empty for when I go to college... but I just can’t get rid of my Monster High dolls and books, I’m extremely attached to them.

I hate when parents complain about dolls not looking “real” or whatever. Theyre supposed to be over animated, theyre DOLLLS
Honestly, if dolls looked just like REAL people that would be horrifying.
you'll never see those parents complaining about Raggedy Ann or Superhero dolls looking unrealistic

OG monster high: goth/alt
New monster high: the girls that made fun of those who dressed differently now thinks it's "cute"
LITERALLY BYE
I can't agree on this. Ever after high's storyline is way more darker and dare I say, more thought out than monster high. It would lose it's creative part and become just the new Disney dolls.
@@leia6432 last time I checked ever after high had NO lgbt or autistic characters!!
Logic is lost on Karens
They all had distinctive silhouettes. Now they don't have all these outlines that differentiated them, you can't tell them apart at all.
And by rebooting it, they threw out all of the movies and shows. There's a movie that focuses on over coming diversity between vampires and werewolves that meant so much to me as a kid. Their entire gimmick was to be yourself, be a monster. It's entire meaning was diversity.
Wait, WHAT?! Why?
Funny, MH was about being different and now all the dolls look the same lol.
when i was younger i loved these characters. Im a big fantasy lover so having a doll with wings or a tail or ears was awesome.
Even Winx Club also did that in 2019

It truly is only because parents complain. Parents not only complained about monster high being either "to slutty" or "to scary" they also complained about barbie dolls being to skinny, so they released plus sized versions, (which i could see why because everyone is beautiful on the inside and out) what i'm really waiting for rn is for parents to go after LOL dolls because unlike monster high and bratz dolls who were teenagers and represented teen fashion trends of the era, while LOL dolls are literal babies dressed like hookers. These karens need to go complain to the manager and stop ruining moments for children to just have fun.

Yes like they are literally body shaming dolls for being too “skinny” wtf 😭
exactly- i feel after 2016 they stopped being true to themselves and their slogan " be unique be a monster ". it didn't matter what you looked like all it matters was that you were being yourself.
@@vanessalopez5984 The theme song literally has “A little bit strange, but so are you.” LIKE THIS IS SO INCLUSIVE WTFFFFF
I got addicted when I was 8
I agree i played with them around 7 as well never once did I find them scary or to sexual i never even knew that what they were wearing was apparently sexual lmao I loved these dolls i really hope they come back

If adults find fictional teenaged dolls "sexy" that's a them problem.
Ikr,that’s them sexualising them.Like wtf
YESS EXACTLYYY

Totally agree. The bratzs looks so bad now too. Like wth.
Karen: the monster high dolls are too scary!
Everyone:....those are litterally monsters...it's called "monster" high....THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT.
That would be like complaining that Digimon have designs that are too scary or dark. They're also MONSTERS, even the angelic or holy ones. And fans of Digimon always say that the evil, demonic, undead, mutated, or cybernetic ones tend to have cooler designs, and that's part of the charm. If this were to happen to Digimon as well, then say goodbye to fan favorites like Beelzemon, Mephistomon, and Kimeramon.
adults are saying the dolls are "too scary" or "too sexualized" like just don't buy them for your kids then you don't have to be a Karen about it lmao

Karens ruin EVERYTHING
They aren’t even wearing revealing clothes? I love monster high and I wish they didn’t reboot them into cartoonish crap.
I remember my grandma didn’t like them cause they were “scary”
THATS WHAT I THOUGHT
@@homeiswonderland ty karen☕

H. Ivy OMG SAME I JUST CARED ABOUT WHAT HAIR AND OUTFIT IT CAME WITH
I loved them because they all had their own styles and were different from eachother. They had different heights, different builds, different styles, different backgrounds, and different likes. They weren't just the same thing over and over again but with different outfits. I did love the outfits as well, though. I loved how unique the outfits were and how it wasn't just a colour mess, rather than colour combos and black. Just my opinion tho.
bruh all i cared about was draculaura looking like an absolute snack. it was also funny too like a vegan vampire, that’s amazing,
i pretty much just wanted to be a part of the wolf family in general lmao.
Edit: Forgot to mention that most dolls I want are over $100 usually
Edit again: My parents are actually still idiots and say that I'm to old for dolls.

Same I am actually so annoyed😳
Dam these make me sad 😢 especially cause I was a huge fan of MH in the 5th grade and me being a boy I never got a single doll.😢
There was A crossover at the end of one of the movies and I never got to finish ever after high sadly :(

Like Bratz Babiez and Bratz Kidz. These playlines had a lot of succes, but Karens did moan and cry about them too.

I was always told that I was paranoid and or crazy so when I saw a character who was jumpy made me happy. and Maddie was always talking to herself or just non stop talking, I saw characters acting normal around them and made me feel like I could find friend that treat me the same way
This.
@Brieanna Gabbard SAME! You can probably tell based off my profile picture lol 😁💖✌️
Honestly ever after and monster high made us realize it was okay to be different and express our selves ): sucks how they took this away from us
Ikr Maddie was hyper and I loved that, I’m hyper as well because I have ADHD so she was one of my fav characters
Tbh when monster high came out i was like 4-5 and i got my first doll then and tbh monster high made me feel more comfortable about myself being different by personality and things like that:) now that im 15 i still love monster high and collect them and genuinely dont give a shit cause i get judged for it :)cant wait for next year for it to come back
Artist: ** exaggerates female proportions**
Parents: Ew! That's sick! How could you promote that!???
Artist: **Exaggerates male proportions**
Parents: Cool!
that's not just parents
that's a good portion of twitter too
Say it louder for the sexist karens in the back
Heck! As a kid I didn’t even notice their unrealistic body shapes! These Karen’s are overreacting!
*Same. I want the girls back. They were so amazing and told different stories. The reboot of MH still horrifies me to this day.*
There is a low chance to find monster high dolls at a store from now..
I found 1 frankie doll sadly reboot but thr package was broken and the doll was good so thats why nobody else wanted to buy it
So maybe look for thrift stores
Or search under the shells where the monster high dolls where
I remember just looking down this isle to see a section of black and just knowing it was monster high I still do it sometimes without thinking and it always breaks my heart
Same, she loved monster high and would always be happy to buy me MH dolls.
@@DaemonHeorui in my town they still sell some of the old MH dolls! :D
Yeah, same. Monster High used to be my favorite franchise
Jazzy I have one new one it’s of clawdeen it’s pretty cute but not as good as the old ones
I might be older now but Monster High will always have a special place in my heart 🖤
Same girl!
Trueeeeeee💕💕
Oh yes

i want to make a petition for the OG monster high...i want the old monsters high dolls and the series back 😭😭 can we make a petition please???
Of course!
I don't know about anyone else but I would sign I never got to enjoy the real ones I was stuck with a reboot
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
i really want it back too omfg
I’m so happy my sister was OBSESSED with monster high dolls and has tons of them but anyways YES WE NEED A PETITION I CANT EXPLAIN ENOUGH HOW I WANT THEM BACK INSTEAD OF THESE PLAIN BOOTLEGS
Starting to really regret cutting my monster highs dolls hair...
Wait WHAT

There’s doll hair you can buy
@@kurtkunklesbiggestfan9311 i did the same with my Barbies Xd
i’m worse

If Monster High was “too scary”, “too dark”, “teaching stuff that’s bad” why would you let your children watch it in the first place?
Holy cow I got 219 likes 0-0 not expected but thanks anyways!!
That’s what I’m saying 😂
Thank you, that's the question.
I absolutely loved monster high as a kid!! Never once found it scary
Maybe I understand that wrong, but to me it sounds like parents were not letting their children watch the shows or play with the dolls, so to try to gain that crowd Mattel made the changes.
Is just me or do parents ruin everything
i get so freaking annoyed when ppl complain about dolls proportions like mh or barbie. first of all they a clearly CARTOONS they are exaggerated, not realistic. the dolls arent “underweight”, their heads are STYLISTICALLY too large for their bodies and their limbs are extended. no one complains about a cartoon having legs too long or bodies too small for their heads. secondly dolls need to have proportions like this or clothes often look strange on them because of the fabric thickness at that scale. besides, if u dont want ur kids to have the dolls, dont buy them. simple
Plus, Barbie's clothes are very bulky so their bodies NEED to be skinnier so things will fit better.
Tsk tsk tsk body shaming dolls RESPECT THE DRIP KAREN!
I’m sorry but I dislike the reboot with a passion
I think is too cute.
Monster High was the peak of my life, I always thought they where the best dolls in the market. Because it was so unique and you could connect with the characters.
Kool-aid get a soap box and preach
Dude did u see that episode where frankie that made a sister that looks like ghoulia??
Kool-aid I didn't play with the dolls but I watched the movies and I didn't like the reboot it was awful
Ellie Puff WAIT WHAT!!!
CadyGamer Pix yeah that’s true.
Monster high was "inappropriate" or "sexy"? Has any of those mothers seen LOL dolls? Those are literally baby dolls with (most of the time) inappropriate sculpting/clothes!
EXACTLY especially the OMG dolls-
i know this is late but the RUclipsr is actually a guy. He just has a high voice and was cosplaying

Same! I remember saying how they looked cheap!

SAME :0
;-; I'm not the only one?
On top of this they had Ever after high, a more kind of based story. They were just looking to complain
The reason dolls look pretty including action man dolls is because children live in fantasy land and part of growing up is realising fantasy land doesn’t exist, why can’t these parent let their kids live in bliss while they still can 😂
it’s sad how the new dolls (2014-forever) will never have the same feeling as the 2010-2013 dolls
So is any parent that calls these dolls scary or whatever automatically a karen?
Richard Chase Yeah cuz they be Karen’s
My sister was scared of literally everything when she was seven, even chickens, but she watched the hell out of Monster High and was never scared of that
I always thought they were so cute.
Ever After High and Monster High were the only dolls I ever played with for my whole life, and I still play with them
Exactly what happened with me. I cried when my sister bought me frankie Stein
Wasnt the whole point of monster high to teach kids that it’s okay to be different? If you dont like the doll, then dont buy it for your kid, theres no need to ruin it for everyone and take down the whole line 🙄
This just screams this meme:
"mom can I have a monster high doll"
"we have monster high at home"
The monster high at home:
Like, is it just me, or?
Yea
Disney ripped of EAH
You can say it, we all know it
Also, kids hardly ever said they were scary.
Yeah, so many things we never saw, We should have got a Ghoulia focus, or a cerise reveal, them graduating,
Maybe they took it down since they haven't been officially revealed? They were literally suppose to release this summer if they're already cancelled i swear to god
Piggybacking on this, if they truly wanted to reboot for a "younger audience", why not make a spin-off of the next generation? All the ghouls are in high school, and they can't stay there forever, so why not end the "current" series with them all graduating and moving on, but to start the reboot fast forward to their kids? Us older fans might not like it after a while, but I think it'd be nice to see stuff like "does lagoona and Gil's relationship make it" "what do their kids look like, are they hybrids or not" etc.
Tulip that would be cool
I am very sorry that they no longer believed in the incredible potential they have and I hope that they will not do the same with ever after high.
they wotn do the same to ever after high cos the chances of ever after high coming back are so lowwwww
ikr but they could've kept the new ones and old ones idk
Monster High: about monsters, so it HAS to be at little scary
Parents:too dark and scary for our children
LOGIK
Thats some galaxy-brain shit right here
Logic is lost on NPCs and Karens
Leonis Tord if it’s too scary they shouldn’t buy it then people are so sensitive I swear
So basically dumb Karens ruined the entire MH brand
yes.
Yes
They ruined Bratz too.
@@psychobratt They ruined ever after high! They were trying to ruin barbie too
8:33 one of the things that was always cool about MH is that they were so much cooler than Barbie but the same price. Now their the same price but not as cool looking. They kinda all look the same now...
I miss monster high.. Barbie is too perfect she makes me have low self-esteem and the monster high dolls really helped me when I was littler
is it just me or is barbie tall because a life size barbie was like 5-10

I was slightly "too old" (or just over playing dolls) when these got released in my country but I still bought one cuz I was a goth teen. I still would buy MH dolls if they sold them nowadays and def would want my kids to play with them too! I've always been underweight and NEVER in my life did I think of dolls bodies as something to want to look like, I always knew they were dolls and then i'd look at hannah montana and look up to her, a HUMAN like me lol
Im 21. And I’d buy them again if they were the old perfect ones.
yeah monsterhighs are weirdly thin but they're so thin that everyone knows that its unrealistic. Even kids. I was obsessed with monster high as a kid till my mother forced me to sell them when I was 11,12. the reboot makes me sad. Somehow every reboot nowadays is just bullshit
except the DuckTales and She-Ra reboots, those are good.
I never thought of the dolls and being shamed about my body i only thought about the scenes and worlds I was making
with my sister we were like "oh i wish my body was like that" but it's not like it impacted us, we continued playing with them
a mess I don’t really like the fact that the ducktales reboot was made like it was compared to the og show, but if it wasn’t a reboot I’d love it
tbh their bodies made them even more freaky and beautiful.
The attention to detail put to these dolls was on a whole new level.
I was in college when I started collecting them. Now I'm sad I didn't collect more
why would they get rid of ever after high that hit SO different-
