Don’t worry about repeating. You do such a great job. I know you mentioned about some loser complaining about you repeating yourself. I would do it just to piss them off. Great Job Andy!!!
Nobody wants to damage a brand new machine, and it takes getting used to. I'm sure he will figure out exactly how to run it within a few loads. A professional still has a learning curve, but he is making short work of it. Great video, Andy. And I'm sure Manuel REALLY appreciated the BOSS with a CAMERA on his first load!👍👍🤣🤣
Our mensch was spilling a lot on the floor like that. The fix was replacing the guide strips of rubber that ride along the side edges of the cross belt. The sand gets between the belt and the steel edges and goes on the floor if the rubber strip isn’t there to keep it on the belt. Cheap easy fix. Hopefully I described it well enough for you to understand. Great video comparisons 👍🏻
Andy, you should have told Manuel to take off his shoes while running the new Nuhn! That would have been great Andy joking around 😂😂. Interesting comparison between the Mensch and the Nuhn. Once he gets his learning curve dialed in, I’m sure he will be more precise in his sand placement
Hi Andy have u ever thought about putting in a separater to separate out the sand from the liquid that way u could dry out and reuse the sand and u wouldn’t have to buy in as much also it would save ur tankers and spreaders from excess wear and tear with no sand going through them?
Great video! Best one you have put out in a while! Love the comparisons and the scales and seeing them both in action. Is that his full time job running the sand truck?
I think some kind of moveable chute would be awesome for putting the sand exactly where you want it. Sand being abrasive, it would probably need to be poly.
@transmitterguy478 LOL!!!! YEAH, THEY WERE ALL WATCHING IT 💯%!!!! LOL!!!! MY ONE FRIEND LOL ABOUT THE VIDEO!!!! SAID IT WAS A GOOD VIDEO, BUT IT WAS TOO LONG FOR THE LUNCH BREAK!!!! 😂😂!!!!
Tks for sharing. With the nunn truck. Will this save time spreading sand? With the spillage between the two trucks? Is it cause one is new and the other is just used alittle more? Dont worry about repeating your self. Its okay. Its dont bother me if you do. Its all good.
That explains why you have so much sand in your manure. I’m guessing it’s better then saw dust or wood chips when dealing with that many animals but it’s still a lot of sand to deal with.
Sand is better than straw or sawdust because bacteria won't stay in it or grow in it. So the cows don't get mastitis as easily , therefore your somatic cell count is lower and that's one of the things that you can get a premium for and the cows stay healthier . Also it's more comfortable and probably a lot cooler in warm weather. Also not dusty like sawdust or straw.
Probably because of the different stall designs and to avoid hitting posts and gates with the conveyor. Looks like it throws it far enough to clear the curbing.
Pretty impressive machine. when you did your test at the bunk, it wasn't moving so the amount on the ground would have been virtually invisible if you were bedding stalls running that first bucket out. Looks like the new truck would save a lot of sand, but is that worth the new machine? Cool video.
Just wondering was the sand truck built at Nuhn's facilities in Sebringville, Ontario and shipped to your dealer or is there another facility near you building them?
@@FarmingFixingFabricatingOk, thanks. I was hoping you had an affiliate link so you would gain a bit of support from my purchase. However, the link is no link in the description. The only two links I see are the ones for your merchandise both in the US and overseas. I checked both of those links and did not see a listing for it.
Thats a nice unit I was looking at it when it was at the farm show. Impressive hydraulic set up on that thing. Watching your Mench all this time I wondered if you guys wanted a certain amount of spill back in the alley to help with cow traction or something. You'll have to buy the Nuhn truck so it matches the Vac truck now
I really really really do not like how the belt drive is surging, that's a way to wear your hoses out super-fast. Can probably be fixed by putting a crimper roller moving a little faster than the main feed belt above the end of it to draw the sand off more smoothly. *HEY NUHN*
The cattle tend to drag the stuff at the back (💩) out when they back out of the stalls. Likely someone takes a rake to remove the dirty sand daily, and I know some places that use a tractor or skid steer mounted bedding conditioner to level up the sand and also drag the dirty sand out at the same time.
I noticed on your mench unit the sand dumping over the belt housing And commented about it. Someone said it was for traction. Repeating is no big deal.
Impressive! Like a stone slinger....which brings me to a question...can you put gravel through this? Also, how do you guys clean the individual stalls?
@@SOONERTHANYOUWISHI find your explanation interesting, as I know of several other dairy channels on youtube. They film their milking process and have zero issues. 10th Generation Dairy Farmer and Sas Dutch Kid Just to name two.

Andy your cows always look so clean and neat! A beautiful, healthy gaggle of critters!! 🐄🐄
I think I subscribed about two years a go and I believe this is the very FIRST time I've ever seen a dairy cow on here. Cool!

Great job on the comparison of the two sand trucks 👍🚜
Explain to me what the sand is for, never seen this before.
@@jakeschisler7525The cattle lay on it. It is more comfortable for the cows than straw or corn stubble.

impressive machine. I cant believe how much sand is used. Seems like I would be finding a way to dig and screen my own sand
Hi Andy !
wow!
very nice sand truck !
Thanks Andy for your time and everybody have a good day at the farm ! 🙋♂️
Interesting to see the two units working and quite an operation!
The Nuhn is a beast. Looks more heavy duty. Great seeing the difference. Thanks for sharing Andy!

That machine is COOL! When I win the lotto I will buy one of those to ride around town on Friday nights.😂
Making beaches where ever you go!!😎
It could use a little modification to the discharge chute
That thing is just awesome and I know that is a demo but it would look good on the farm take care

Hell of a nice new equipment
Good luck with the new machine 👍Here's to trouble free bedding 🍻
The future of automated grain carts right there

Beats shoveling it out of a trailer lol, nice machine !
Is this machine not a litle wide to drive with it in the barn between the stalls ?
No

Now do your guys have to go in and level all those stalls out by hand?
No the cows will do it
Nice machine, not sure how long the cab door will last.
You must go through a lot of sand in a week Andy
Pretty kool sand truck
Thank you for another great video. Cheers
Wonder why they didn't extend the belt and chute out a little farther to maybe even with the outside of the wheels?

@@MorganOtt-ne1qja would agree with you it’s protected under there and once they got it dialled in that little bit it was making a tidy job of it
Like to see a video on cleaning the alleys in the barns
Scroll back he has them
seems like the fall from the drag chain is causing a surging of the sand delivery to the bed.
Have you ever tried limestone sand or washed dust instead of yellow sand?
No
What’s with the hydraulics making that surging sound?Good looking machine

Only one facility
Nice demo for you guys
That nice new truck looks expensive Andy but nice
What brand is that drop gate that you said for moving cows?
Seneca iron
Can anyone tell me who makes that flashlight and holster he has on his side. it is seen at @ 00:31. Thanks in advance!!

Watch your crossovers with the extra weight. Dang nice machine. would aiming the belt up and use the deflectors work?
How often do you have to change the bedding out ? And how much sand do you go through in a year ?

Hi Andy,.....I have never run a sand spreader like the NUHN. It sounded like to me, that it was pulsating when offloading the sand. Is that normal?
What is the purpose of the sand? Thanks olgoat
👍👍
How often do you put sand down?
Cow stalls once a week and heifer stalls every other week
Are you able to make a video of the Milking Parlour operation ?
He won't do it because of the PITA people says he doesn't need the agrivation
Watching cows being milked hurts some of the damn peoples feelings 😂

Do you need to bed them as heavy, surely a dusting of clean sand on top of them would keep it as clean and save as much sand in your manure
Yes we could be everyday
Who gets to spreads the sand out in the stalls ?
The cows presumably
So, That is 19 tons of sand going to the manure lagoon. There must be a better way ? Maybe chopped straw or sawdust ?
( I don't know .)
Could you run saw dust with a machine like this
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO ANDY 😊
Quite the machine
Nuhn 🇨🇦💯
How are the stalls cleaned ?
Almost had a oops at the end with free cows😂. Anyone that's been on a farm has been there before
Is that sand washed and reused?
Does it have a back up camera ?
Yes
Did you ever consider solid stalls with rubber mats on top
The sand bedding is more comfortable for the cattle
Wonder if there’s any concern about the concrete that you’re driving on and its ability to hold all that weight??
How many cows do you guys have Andy?
Ahh, my days of getting a big load on and going to see some heifers is over...
How do you remove the old sand
You'll never replace all the sand in the bed. The cows remove some every time they enter and exit the bed. So you just top the sand up every so often.
And the new sand truck will never be that clean ever again lol
I think if you scraped up the center after each you’d find the new unit wastes less
Did you purchase it?
How many cows on the farm?
Definitely looks a lot more solid than Mensh.
R u upgrading equipment
Nice machine. Bet it ain't cheap
Need to put a little longer shut, maybe 6-8" I like what it does just need to get closer.
Oh, I see a red and white Holstein I guess it is
Looks like all the sand is under the cows belly. Should it not be under the hoofs
No, it's to provide comfort, not traction. The cows get to lay on a "beach", and it can shift to conform to their body.
Tim is the man!!!!
Definitely better system
62500lbs = 28.35 metric tonnes. Wow, on a 2 axle vehicle.
Nice looking truck I suppose sand is probably the worst material for any machine to handle
Oi 💪💪💪💪💯💯👍👏
Is the sand truck new for Nuhn? I didn’t see it on the Nuhn website. Thanks for the videos.
