Yumbl, im dissapointed you've forgotten the history of Benton already. Thats not the Rock, its very clearly the 'Benton Boulder' which marks the spot the city founder Little Bobby Benton himself, had the acid trip that led him to establish the town. Personlly i prefer park life parks since they feel like they fit bigger areas better, establish when they're funky shapes.
Still better than the supposed backstory of Antwerpen. That one is literally that some dude cut off the hand of some other dude and threw it in the river, and then decided to found a town there.
Hahaha, this was all very logical and sensible, sounding like an actual town history, until I read "had the acid trip that led him to establish the town". Made me laugh
The new waste processing assets are great. I always use them as soon as they are available. And putting the "collector" building in residential areas doesn't bother residents that much. I highly recommend you try it out when you get to that point in this build.
The problem with garbage, it always happens when you start to empty the landfill, and does not recover until the landfill is empty. The landfill is great when first starting out, as it's very cheap, but becomes a huge problem when it needs emptying, as it fills up all of your other garbage disposal buildings, leading to no trash collection in your city. One of the best ways to combat the problem is by building another landfill, unless you have enough money to build lots of incinerators or even recycling centres. I prefer incinerators, despite the huge pollution problem, as they also generate power. Enjoying this series Yumbl. :)
Waste Transfer/Waste Processing is really cool. You place a Waste Transfer Facility near each of your districts/neighborhoods, and you place the Waste Processing Complex somewhere else (sends out waste transfer trucks to pickup garbage from Waste Transfer Facilities and Landfills). You can unlock the Ultimate Recycling Plant monument late game, which has 100 trucks and can process 480,000 units per week.
I know its not always simple, but real cities are often a collection of many many retrofittings - that's what gives them their character xD P.S respect to Yung Linden
The way I empty my landfills is turn on the emptying until the reserves in your processing centers are full, then turn the building off. % full will stay the same, your processing centers can catch up to demand, burn through their reserves, and then you can start emptying again. No trash or Health waves
Suggestions for the new south park: Dwayne Johnson Memorial Park Home Plate Park Citadel Park (maybe place an old castle or fortification decoration? Looks like it would be a good place for a military fort)
Dwayne "the park" Johnson Edit: also, there are invisible park entrance mods. You should grab one of those! You wouldn't have to replace with parkline paths so all your detail work stays the same
Just discovered your channel. I love this series... It is just perfect for my vacations. Very comforting and relaxing. Keep up the the good work. Greetings from Germany
"Autumn Garden" is best as a name near a recycling center that turns the trees orange. I;d be surprised if that's not happening near the newer Recycling Center up near the bridge. You didn't buffer it from the residentials.
I see that when you put up your comment, RUclips had not yet posted the previ=ious identical copmment. The time tag on your, and the appraently earlier one strongly support this. I have seen that with comments I have made.
I love the series! Your explanations about why and how you solve or plan things is extra appreciated and different to how some CS content creators do it, both are right, both are great. But I am enjoying your content a lot. Park suggestion: Dr. G.E Oology Park. (Da Rock Geology Park ;-) )

Pipes are evil... As you mentioned, they count against your nodes. Eeeeeevil! You're probably already aware, but there is a mod called Planning Roads. It allows you to place free roads for planning purposes only. Something you might be interested in, if you haven't already checked it out. I hope you stick with this city. Name suggestion for the park, something like Dwayne Garden or The Rock Garden (Gathering). For giggles , maybe "It dosen't matter what you think"-park....
Love your city, enjoying this episodes a lot, especially the realistic zoning so the high density would be in the middle of the city. Also i would love to see you turn off traffic despawning just to make roads functions even more realistic.
@@YUMBL Wow, you have a new huge fan now. This is very impressive plannig , so impressive that i didnt even realise that you were indeed using despawning off , great job, i love yor build even more now.
I am so glad to hear that you aren't one of the "water pipes must be under the road" players. With all the mods so many of us use, go ahead and also use the 'no need for pipes' and 'no need for power lines' mods. Ease the game overhead. It still is a game after all. Players do not have to be bound by any other player's preferences. 👍👍👍👍👍
FYI you can do all that with the trees of you can press that big green A button at the middle bottom of the screen and it turns off tree anarchy. Thats how i do it when placing things. i also have the settings set to delete any messed up or missing trees. hope that helps.
There is a district policy to filter industrial waste. It reduces ground pollution dramatically and is well worth the cost. Paint your industrial district (regular, not the new industries) and then set the policy. It should be available at this point in the milestones.
Yeah I would love to see Dwayne Park turned into a proper park! On thing I would request is much more winding paths in the park. I don’t know about you but most of the big parks like that that I’ve seen have maybe one or two straight paths going through the whole thing, and then all the rest are much more meandering and scenic
City planner plays is dying inside... Lol really excited to see your fix on traffic when your city has more population and how and where you put highways and stuff you show on your shord vis or clips :) just finished ep 1 hoping to watch through all episodes
Thanks! The only assets are vanilla + roads. Most of my mod list is used. ReaL pop is off, so are the no need for pipes/powerlines mods. I think thats pretty much it.

Yumbl I have a random question lol. I added a bunch of trees north of the rail road on this map (your modded map) and when I pulled up my Natural resources view, the forestry lad did not increase like it used to after placing trees. Does the Tree anarchy mod eliminate that feature?
@26:35 I have to wonder what it is that you have installed that I don't that changes the way your traffic is calculated because in my game they best I ever see, even when all the streets are green is 86%. As soon as I start the game and one car drives into town 90% is an impossible number and 86 is as good as it gets. Could that be some expansion pack like Mass Transit or something causing that? The only expansion I ever bought was Park Life. Or is there some mod that effects that?
Hey an idea for the park. Make it both sides of the road with one of the archways over the road and a fancy elevated ped crossing. Definitely overkill right now but once you get that bridge to the other side it would be a badass feature for the starting area.
I noticed that when I use the Move It marguee selection tool, with only "Trees" selected, that if I draw a road (or other) over trees, those trees will be selected, so your comment regarding trees still being there appears 100% correct.
Hi Yumbl, i just want to say that placing any residential next to high density commercial can give them noise sickness! I'm not all the way through the video yet so not sure if you realize that but just for future reference. :)
the park name should be da park Johnson. generally how i try to make angled roads meet is really close what you did for the park at 1:31:58 i curve the road at or just before the angled road meets the other roads zoning squares to then make a 90 degree intersection at the other road
Why you're not building pedistriant pass when you build some block with 11unit space like 49:06? You have one space between the 2 blocks that you could make as pedestriant pass. It will increase the movement by bike, foot and reduce the traffic.

I know a million people have probably said it but, you can change the tree type on roads without BOB now. Literally just select your tree, make sure you're on single then hover over the road and it will upgrade it to your selected tree
The park paths are nice, but i wish they didn't have the lines at the "junctions". Just have the lines along the edge of the path, rather than across as though they were road junctions.

Garbage processing is not fine I think, they are not keeping up. When a facility is full, no trucks will go out. The problem is not the placement, they actually have a pretty big number of trucks and can cover buildings relatively far away, as long as they are not full. Reason why you make a lot of money: Only generic industry, which makes more money than the others in my experience, whatever the explanation says, not many education, and certainly because you don't use public transport.
