2023 ASSETTO CORSA VR ANTI-ALIASING FIX GUIDE FOR HP REVERB G2
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 янв 2023
- I have spent literally months testing settings to get a smooth game play experience with Assetto Corsa + The Reverb G2 using SteamVR. Was getting nothing but crawling and distracting aliasing, even at higher and lower SteamVR resolutions. I made a huge break through yesterday. First, if you don't have it, get Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR app on Steam for you none native openxr games. It will really help as well. Launch that, then go to graphic settings ( access only via the apps in vr settings), turn allow higher then recommenders resolution. You''ll need Content Manager, and custom shaders patch. There are lots of guides to install that on the net. In the video i'll show you how a very small over looked setting can make a huge difference in game play-ability involving aliasing. acstuff.ru/s/MTeono
***UPDATE***
recently discovered switching this game via Open Composite, via OpenXR toolkit companion app. it makes things much easier, you can also grab just the one openvr_api.dll file for open composite. Placing it manually into the games folder that contains that same file, located in steamlibrary, Steamapps, common, assetto corsa, system, x64. Replace the file with the new openvr_api.dll file, ( openxr companion app does this for you. remember to keep a copy of the old api. Link for the file below) this will push Assetto on the Reverb G2 to 90 frames using these settings. Here are the links to do that, also included the link for the OpenXR OBS plugin and my current settings.

There is definately alot of improvement in the performance as well as the graphics now! Thank you so much!!! ❤️
thanks so much. This is awesome. So smooth and great looking
You Rock!!! I've been struggling with shuttering for over a year. This fixed it... Thanx!!!
Awesome !! you're very welcome
Wow! Wondered what you'd been up to.
This.
This looks like it took a long time to figure out. Well done.
Hey thanks Finley McGregor !!, you are honestly my #1 sub.I really appreciate your support, the reason for my absence was do to loss of internet sadly. The rural internet I used got knocked out by a wind storm, and I was was expected to pay huge cost to have it re-aligned. I opted to save for star link and am finally ordering it tmrw. Should be a few weeks and I'll be back to making new eps. Thanks again my friend. truly appreciate you.
@THE VIRTUAL GAME GOD No problem. When everyone is struggling with the algorithm, someone has to give feedback to the little guys.
Likewise, I don't even have a machine capable of VR but I enjoy the effort you put into it.
Also, I never knew how much I needed a giantess Piper wielding a minigun in Fallout 4 until watching your plays.
I watched 100+ videos to increase my framerate and this was the only one which helped! thx a lot!
Awesome ! No problem :D
Went from 45 fps to 90 and raised my settings in the process. Mind blowing
I am always looking for more ways to tweak. I am going to try some of these settings for my RIFT S. Thanks for the effort in putting this together man.
Awesome !! glad it helps across systems :D
@@thevirtualgamegod Helped a lot!!! I only used some of your recommendations and the difference is massive in VR performance. Thanks again for sharing.
@@virtualmotorheadswas it a difference for the rift S?
@@thevirtualgamegodhi, iv got a gx580 and don't seem to be able to get over 45fps in vr no matter what I do.. have you go any solution other than a gpu upgrade. Thanks
Damn, your awesome buddy, keep it up, helped me a lot
Brilliant thanks, no more 4xSGSS, now have headroom for full post processing.
Used these settings for my reverb worked like a charm new sub
glad to hear it !! thanks for the sub
Youre a legend. Solid 90 frames on Quest 2 (following after window mixed reality settings). Been going 2 days strong trying to solve my "blurry" aliasing "staircase" issue. What a beautiful difference this made visually, and system performance wise!
What is you settings in the oculus program? :)
@@Jonas_Bekkis ill need to double check. But I stuck it at 72hz and max resloution at 1.5 I think. But if my lobby is full on drift servers, i tone my CM settings down just a hair to make sure I dont stutter due to all the smoke.
what are your specs? I have an i7, 1660 super, and 32 gb of ram and Im very laggy
@@cappvfx im just on a 2070 super, i7 9700k and 32gb of ram
Thankyou mate. Much much better. No liasing at all. Constant 88fps. Open vr. Rtx3060
Now that's what i like to hear :D
hello. glad I found your channel and this video s I just moved from AMD GPU to a NVIDIA one (RTX3080) so I was looking for CM but also NVIDIA CP settings.
both what you have in there works well, thanks a lot for sharing.
I am running a QUEST2 myself and could catch you also have such headset, sharing my own experience I have it set in Oculus software at 90Hz and all the way up with rendering which is 1.5 and using also opencomposite(Openxr)
Visual experience is really nice and its true that the NVIDIA encoding/decoding is better than AMD so the pic clarity on my Q2 is improved. all that running via a 5800X3D so its a locked 90fps for me with 30 to 40% perf headroom even with the RTX3080 underclocked/undervolted so can not be happier right now
Thank you
This works!!
THANK YOU!!!
89.1 FPS WITH 6-8 CAR TANDEM TRAINS!!!LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I’ve spent days dude literal days trying to fix this I hope this works at first I started your video yesterday, and the settings were not the same in my WMR, and I didn’t see anything for open XR, for WMR, just steam, and idk about anyone else; but for me, steam VR, has been obnoxious.
I’ve had to uninstall it and install it numerous times. I hate that you can’t use a mouse in the home menu too, you HAVE TO USE THE JOY STICKS. Like it’s 2023
…… why can’t
I use my damn mouse Lmao
hey man great vid , im doing vr in assetto with the crystal looks good runs great with my 4090 7900x3d but everytime theres a turn on the track or looking to my side it gets like a micro stutter but driving straight its smooth i cant figure it out and has ruined my vr experience in asssetto corsa , do you get any of that
im running a 2080ti and 10900k. i had very smooth 60fps but it was basically double image at all times.
Seems pretty good after following your settings. What PP filter are you using? I’m using Sol_extra and I don’t like it at all, my AC definitely looks like a 2014 game. Getting 90 fps easy on a 4070, but it looks graphically old.
I use. "pure simple " then adjusted it to my own liking
thanks for the video ! do you think it is useful to change the settings in steamvr if you're using the openxr toolkit ?
Hey hope it helped. I'll be updating this too, i found even more ways to tweak it. If you're using open xr toolkit, SteamVR should not even be running. therefore the setting in it would change nothing. The answer is no. thanks
Dumb question (sorry): How are you hitting 60fps consistently with WMR set to 90Hz and no framerate limit in your video settings?
no doubt obvious question for most, but how do i get to the setting "allow resolution higher than recommended" ?
Could these settings be for a Pimax 8K X?
Will this work with meta 3
amigo gran video podrias poner que se pueda traducir tus guias en español gracias!!!
Instant performance gains, for months I have been wondering if the poor quality and performance is normal but now im on almost max settings, clear image at 90fps. Reverb G2, i7-13700k, RTX4070Ti.
Thank you dude!
Nice info! I do wonder why you have 60Hz in the Assetto manager settings, while the headsets could handle 90Hz..
Because that makes absolutely no difference to the VR settings that only makes a difference to your flat screen settings
My headset is working at 90 hertz all the time
@@thevirtualgamegod Ohh that makes sense.. Thank you very much for the fast reply and knowledge - sometimes settings can be confusing .. Cheers!
@@SkywalkFPV no problem at all :D
anybody having any issues with new Nvidia app? I can't find anybody talking about it online anywhere regarding VR settings ect.. Anything change for any of you, good or bad?
idk why, but I do not have the advanced SMAA settings like quality. Tried the same preview version of CSP. Do you have anything set to enable those? On Quest 2 activating SMAA doesnt take any effect sadly.
This is not a guide for the Quest 2. I have the Quest 2. These setting are on both systems. i am using preview 1.80 purchased version. I use CMAA on high now. Are you in graphical adjustments setting or vr tweaks ? You'll need to be in the graphical adjustment settings to do this. Activate the graphical adjustment extension. Set amd fidelity super sampling to "active" by checking active box, check the box "old implementation" on as well, set quality to ultra quality 88% set sharpness to high. Next locate the install folder for Oculus. Inside that folder locate oculus diagnostics folder. Inside there you will see a .exe called Oculus debug tool. Make a desktop shortcut or to your taskbar for easier future use. Open the debug tool as administrator. Once inside change these settings. Pixel per eye display overide to 1.2 to 1.4 depending on system. Turn distortion curvation to low. Encode resolution width to 3664. Encode bitrate set to 350. Make sure link sharpening is also on. Disable encode dynamic bitrate if on. Now close then reopen to make sure ot all that took effect you want to check this before you play games. Set your oculus software super sampling back to its default. And have assetto pixel oer eye set to 1 and mip lod to -0.25. You have to have msaa on in assetto corsa video settings for the smaa or cmaa to work. I also checked off beside the" Post-Processing antilialiasing " in graphical adjustments to " use fidelityFX CAS by AMD for extra sharpness. Hope that helps
@@thevirtualgamegodcan you make the video as well🥲🥲 thanks for the effort for testing, i m using 3070ti and quest2 and tweak the settings for so long
Please make sure to subscribe everyone, thanks again.
For Quest 2 do you use steamVR or Oculus on open XR Runtime?
Oculus native runtime
On quest 2 ?? I have everything on hitting 90 fps on nohesi, i have a stupid blur like 100m in front don’t understand why…
need to go into Nvidia control panel settings and turn on anistropic filtering to x8 -x16

Really great settings! I’ve seen a huge FPS increase. I dropped the replacement dll into the appropriate folder and saw and additional boost, but now steamVR no longer launches, and it appears to just run apps through WMR natively. Not a big deal, though I do prefer steam vr’s virtual desktop. Any ideas anyone?
@@wellingtonalfredo Oh ok, yea it totally bypasses SteamVR. Thought I had mention that tbh. No worries sorry if i missed this. Steam VR is really bad for frame loss, if it's a game that requires Steam VR controller tracking ( bay station tracking, lighthouses ), you kinda have no choice. To switch back to native SteamVR. First re-verify your games files via steam. That may work alone. You might even need to reinstall the game to restore the original openvr_api.dll. Thought I had also mentioned it's a good idea to keep the original openvr_api.dll in a new folder called openvr. Then the new open-xr dll in the folder called openxr. The wmr api file from open composite site, is always 1800 kb, the other original files, in most games, are usually below 1000 kb. I personally suggest letting go of your love for SteamVR only in faster moving games, such as racing, flying, space games. In walking around games like SkyrimVR Fallout VR. I find it's better to use SteamVR for controller tracking accuracy alone. Any other question feel free to ask
You may have mentioned all of that and I either missed it, or I’m not savvy enough to understand the first time :). I can definitely give up steam vr for the efficiency. I’m getting 89fps with a full grid on the reboot version of Sebring with the sun setting and I was previously getting 57-59fps. Great work! Another quick question, when I use the resolution from your preset, lines on the street and power lines above are really wavy and distracting, but when I change the resolution to 1920x1080, everything smooths back out. This doesn’t make any sense as your settings are closer to the native resolution of the headset. Sorry if these are dumb questions. I really appreciate how interactive you are. You’ve earned a sub😊
hello, how do you load the presents in content manager ?
simply drag and drop into content manager
How to get to the screen on 0:26?
I run the HP G2 at 200% max (5000x5000) solid 90 FPS but no Shader patch installed all that lighting kills performance with 6950xt and amd 5600 in steamvr no to open XR
Oh for sure you can get 90 frames locked like that . I like the immersion the lighting effects give. Custom shader patch adds too much to pass up. Plus, i have 90ish locked frames. with all that on. thanks for sharing your experiences, and thanks for watching :D
So are you using openXR or just steamvr with openvr in CM video settings?
Open xr
@@thevirtualgamegod ok and that first window of the video you were showing to turn that on. Where is that located? Wmr?
After doing this i can clearly see where the foveated rendering is in both eyes. It looks great in the center but its graying out around the sweet spot in both eyes. Its not pleasant this way. Any thoughts? Thanks
There is a way to adjust the foveated rendering distance
I am using a reverb and see nothing like that myself, but let me know how it goes, maybe retry all steps again ? hope I can help

Hi,
I tried your settings yesterday, unfortunately it didn't change anything for me. I once made settings from another RUclips using the openxr tool, could that still be the problem? AC looks good but i got massiv Shimmering Guardrails and walls in the distance.. have this problem only on VR on my Monitor the game looks very good...
Hey @ktmlc4640supermoto Yes the OpenXR toolkit ads it's own api with its own settings you can also customize on the fly. I just find the api they provide standalone seems less weight on the system . Sorry this didn't work as well for you as others. Maybe try going to that first video you used and undoing some things, or even removing the openvr.api and reverifying the games files to retrieve the original dll. Then add the one I mentioned mantually. Also sometimes steps gets missed too. did you changed the msaa in graphic settings of custom shader patch to cmaa or smaa ? turning the sharpness down by reducing the amd fidelity quality from say 88% to 75% can smooth the image out, sharpness at a point adds antialiasing if too hi, and with this game it's a fine line. Let me know your systems specs. thanks

many thanks for the help! Now I've sat at the PC again for about 3 hours and tried everything possible but there's no improvement... and the OpenXR tool is driving me crazy. I can't get into the settings menu anymore... as soon as I feel like it again I have to do it again try out. but thank you very much for your help!

This won't be a problem i think...
@@thevirtualgamegod Over the weekend I reset my computer and reinstalled everything. So far I've only installed the CM and made a few small settings, I think it looks a little better than before. But I also noticed that it also depends on the track. Things look much better at the Nuremburgring GT circuit than at Silverstone, for example. As soon as I have time I'll try out a few more settings...I read that the setting "use newer dds loader" causes the problem. But first I have to look at my settings... maybe that sounds familiar to you? Greetings from Zürich ;)
So, how do I start the game in VR???? How could you not show that???
it's a very specific video that I think 99.9% of the people who have watched it, would easily have realize... if the video is labelled "Assetto Corsa VR Anti-Aliasing fix guide for HP Reverb G2" a very specific name. Most of those people compelled to watch it, would.. and I am assuming using common sense. Already be familiar with Assetto VR start up !. If the video was labeled "a complete guide for self entitled ignorant morons on how to run assetto corsa in VR for the first time" then id understand your argument. You know what I can't believe ? what possessed you to publicly try to critique my video when you can't even read the f**ing title, or comprehends whats it implies on it's own. If you don't have anything smart to say, don't say anything at all. Thanks
Dude I think I’ve tried everything lol I didn’t get it to work. Wasted hours and didn’t even play. I’ve been trying to play asetto on vr for a few days now. Haven’t fucking played once. My vr headset works just fine…. It’s these damn racing games. Fucking annoying. I did all your settings. I’m uninstalling it and I’m going to restart fresh. Lol I just wanna fucking play Jesus man
