Dream of a palm-sized robot that can fly like a bird and hover like a helicopter. Designed for Aerial Photography, Advanced Gaming, R&D, Security. Find out more!

Our thanks to all the supporters for making possible Indiegogo's biggest campaign and the only Indiegogo Campaign to cross $250,000! Unfortunate that Indiegogo and PayPal didn't release funds for the project for over a year, damaging the project but the supporters and campaign owners kept the effort going despite hardships from Indiegogo!
For your viewing pleasure; we hope you enjoy it!
    Cheers

I feel like they spent the majority of their budget making their CG promotional video. There is less than ten seconds of footage of it actually flying.

    a few questions:
    - How long does the battery last? I guess no more then half an hour.
    - How stable is it in wind?
    - Why would it be better then a QC drone if it can't carry a load?
    - The army uses even smaller drones then these already, then why would you use this one?
    - How much sound does it produces? (if used for spionage missions)
    - How will it ever protect your house if they just can carry it whit them?
    - Why does every promotional video lies?

    • @selvappriyaabhavaanee117

      Lies! Lies and more Lies!

This is fake. It cant fly with such small wings. Look at real dragonfly and her wings/body ratio, and then look at this robot. Where is battery ? Is it so small, that it's not visible ? So, how long this robot can "function" (I doubt it can fly) with such small battery ?

i know what these guys should do with this. if they manage to make a fully autonomous controls, whether through external controls (ie a program running on a computer communicating with the robot from a ways away) or internal controls (basic programming loaded on the robot), and if they continue making it smaller, they need to make plant pollinators. Robotic bees for commercial use.

Draganfly ($DPRO) is undoubtedly the best solution when looking for an autonomous drone (or manual if you want), for any use.
They have currently been chosen by Lufthansa to strengthen the maritime search and rescue infrastructure, they are helping civilians and military personnel in Ukraine by providing them with drones to detect and defuse mines, deliver medicines to the sick and much more.
I personally see it as the best innovative company in terms of the services that its drones offer. In fact, it was chosen by the US government to send its drones to rescue Ukraine

As someone who spent most of his life making real Helicopters and a model enthusiast who fly`s all types of models I find this an interesting project.
However power of the battery's in a model or the engines and fuel in a real aircraft is a huge issue.
Even using Li Po batteries I cant see this thing flying for long.
Also as an engineer I cant see the life mechanically of such a unit being that long either.
If you consider my comments worth while I would love to play with one.
    But I would be critical.

have you heard about the japanese 雀蜂 Suzumebachi or Hornet , it is really as big as a japanese killer bee , really as big as a japanese hornet, just as not noisy as the real thing. using solar panel batteries , with video camera onboard gps and it can walk too. I saw t a month ago at an robot show in Tokyo and it is just amazing, Japan is leading the way of future technology while we just try to keep up with the present

"Each iteration gets smaller, and more efficient."
We live in an age where our children might legitimately exclaim, "Mom, a frog ate my robot!"

I spent 4 tours in Iraq ..I could've used one but the only down fall I see that u should work on . especially if u want a military contract is to make it where its compact as a soldier we need to be able to almost fold it up to fit it some where in reach in a mid to small pocket and be able to grab it and flip it open and go.... Also you should pair it with sunglasses with LCD screen on left upper inside lens so we can see in real time ...also distance we must in a battle field be able to fly at least 50-100 yards... This should be done to it if possible than it would be the ultimate tool... But great job...

If you offer them in much larger sizes they'll be more stable in a breeze.
Otherwise im sticking with the 2 foot dia Cyclone UFO quadcopter.
I suppose the military grade ultra capacity battery isn't available?

fluchter1996 I'm not following the project at all, I'm just estimating based on how ornithopters soak up power and that batteries on that scale suck... although I did think that 2-3 minutes was a little generous...

fluchter1996 I spent a few years working on stuff like this, and fixed wing and/or rotor based aircraft are inefficient at very small scales (like insects). The issue with these types of craft is that we don't have good actuators for this type of motion. They typically use servos or motors but there are some developing technologies to more closely replicate muscles... but until then flappers are going to be pretty bad...

What would make this impressive if they were able to add more than 1DOF per wing... I think dragonflies have at least 2 active DOF (frequency and sweep), where pitch might be passively controlled...

    "Buy one now"
Well how much does it cost?
Just the fact that they dont give anykind of price range tells me I cant afford it, not that I would expect something this cool to be cheap. They obviously put a lot of hard work into this and deserve to get rich off it. Can it be flown off an I-pod?
