The fact that a 100 years ago going to space seemed almost impossible, and now a bunch of guys with an egg building a rocket and guiding it back down to a particular location without breaking the egg being seen as a 'passion project' is wild.

The Most Phenomenal thing about this is that this didnt feel like a youtube video, it felt like it was a documentary about a mission with such a high hill to overcome it felt impossible.

I was just thinking flat earth theory
This proves nothing.
The egg is flat
Fisheye once again..
I was thinking the same thing lol
This was a cool video. I used to operate an acoustic scoring system and we launched balloons using the same radiosondes depicted for upper atmosphere measurements to get temp and wind direction for 3d solutions. The data would stream in via another program and at a certain height but after stoping the recording we could start another one to simply track the balloon. We tracked it until we lost signal, which was pretty interesting.
I think the best part of this whole video is how many times the project failed. That really shows just how much perseverance and dedication Mark has to these things.
And how everything that went wrong could've been avoided by going with the beach ball in the first place. XD

I love that the majority of the video is about failure. None of that prevents you from moving forward. This video would have been amazing even if the eggs had broken. It’s your great attitude and joy of learning that is so valuable
People can learn that failure helps learning.
Definitely, I think this also shows how difficult space is.
the video is amazing either way
*Dont_Read_My_Names* 😏
This is engineering: constant incrimental progress demarcated by failure until your goal is achieved.
I literally gasped when I saw the zero pressure balloon prematurely popped. Watching engineering fail and succeed simultaneously is refreshing. I work hard to teach my kids that failing is not the goal but it is not bad. Just part of the process.
I often quote to student nurses and EMTs that success and failure are the two most important teachers in life - each one tells you what set of thoughts/behaviors/habits to continue or discontinue. The failure isn't in the "failure" itself but in failing to learn from it. There is ALWAYS a lesson to be learned...
When you put it like that, it doesn’t sound so bad
Ok
