Awesome Yes that chili is very similar to Detroit style Coney Island chili I will be making that video soon and this chili is very delicious looking and I know it taste amazing thank you for sharing I did get the notification 👍🏽🥰🍋
That 5 way at the end is the stuff of legends! I have made several Cincinnati style chili recipes. I like your recipe because its has less cinnamon. There is a super delicate balance between cloves and cinnamon. You solved the balance problem by excluding the cloves. I can't wait to try it. Thank you for posting!
Wow... Love it! I used to live in Chicago and we had a place that made Cincinnati style chili in my neighborhood. It's so good... thank you for sharing your recipe!
Yep, it’s actually a Greek Recipe, yes, Skyline uses a 8oz.chocolate Hershey’s Bar for the average serving size and, other chains use 3/4cup of cocoa powder for the typical serving size! I mean why not, and again cinnamon over pumpkin pie spice. Mexicans use chocolate in a lot of their sauces, especially in their mole sauce! Also it’s great on hotdogs for coneys!
@@TessCooks4u I just had to let you know that your dish was a awesome hit everyone loved it didn't even have lift overs gave everyone your information thanks again 👍😀
Whoa Tess, this looks really good. I have heard of Cincinnati Chili though never had the chance to try it. Like the addition of the chocolate. Five Way All Day!
This recipe looks great. Glad you aren't using cloves. Have tried other copycats and the cloves overpower it. Yuck! I am going to try this one as it looks like the ingredients are spot on. Thank you for sharing it. BTW 4-way is best. No beans for me.
Miss test my first payroll paying job was a skyline chili the Greeks are really tight was that recipe but the real true secret that recipe is freezing the chili and then reconstituting it bring it back it's it's 10 times the flavor and that's really the family secret is you got to freeze it and then we serve it that a littlewater and warm it up. All the chili that comes to those parlors in there in Cincinnati or all Frozen in blocks and they just add water to it the hamburger is cooked a little differently it's simmered longer cooked down to a fine consistency
Yeah Skyline Chili is real proud of their chili. The canned tastes different then the frozen boxed. It taste better out of the frozen box from store. It’s not very consistent out of the can. Tonight I am making Katie Lee Biegel from In The Kitchen’s version from food Network.
Yes, there is so,do your research! Some use, dehydrated onions but, I like, to use real onion in mine and, I am not the only one who does the same thing!
Yes there is,it came from the Greeks and most recipes I’ve gotten calls for either a solid chocolate or cocoa powder and some chains do cocoa powder and others will do a solid chocolate! I was originally born in Cincinnati and, it’s my favorite thing so, I know what, I am talking about! In fact if you do your research Skyline uses a 8oz Hershey’s Chocolate bar, 1 per serving size, other chains uses 3/4 cup of cocoa powder per serving size! Stop assuming something you have no apparent knowledge of!
He never said there wasn’t chocolate in Cincy chili recipes! He said those particular places don’t use it. We’ve always made it at home (Cincy born and raised) and we never use chocolate because we like it better without. Some people do some don’t. Two very popular establishments that make terrific Cincinnati chili do not use it. Our neighbor always used chocolate and it was good. Just not my fav. Peace.
Yes, there is and, the other secret ingredient is cinnamon! Some chains do a milk solid chocolate like skyline, while others use a 3/4 cup of cocoa powder for the typical serving size! And, most recipes call for dehydrated onion a lot of people will use fresh chopped onion! Don’t assume something you have no knowledge of!
Nothing against Tess. This probably is the best Cincinnati chilli which makes it the worse chilli in the US. There are many versions of Cincinnati chilli and they are all horrible.

Everyone also, says there’s no onions in the sauce there is, it typically the recipe calls for dehydrated onions but, most people use fresh chopped onion which, I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with that. Everyone likes to assume something what they have no knowledge of and, this recipe is very similar to the one that was in the highpoint microwave cookbook yrs ago, and, that’s the recipe, I mostly go with and, the last couple yrs, I been cooking it in the crockpot!
You have great and Easy recipes…
No complicated or missed ingredients ,

I'm Canadian (and Italian) and love Greek meat sauce, spaghetti, and cheddar cheese, so I know I will love this combo together.

Pretty good and very easy to make.

Skyline chili in Cincinnati must add crack to their recipe cuz it's addictive!
Hi Tess that looks so tasty 😋

Blessings Tess from Chicago. I watch Adventures with Danno and he showed the chilli in Walmart at $6.68 for a 15oz can. Yeaks. Thanks

I like 5 way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, please? 🤗😘☮️💟🙏
Confirmed 3 way fan.
I add a hint of instant expresso plus all that you had on the list except the chocolate
If I'm within 200 miles of Cincinnati I make a special effort to go to Skyline Chili
Its a 106 miles to Cincinnati, we gotta full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes ....
When God was handing out taste buds you thought he said grubs and said..no thanks!
Five way!!!
5 way!
Awesome recipe. Hope you had your mask on to match the gloves. Lol
My recipe more or less is the same except I add a bay leaf. I don’t really know what it does but it’s not as good if I forget it.
We agree!
Anybody else prefer it one way? Most of the time i just dunk those nathans bagel dogs into them
I'm 73 have known the Lambrinedes my whole life and before me, my parents did, not once but thousand times have been told ABSOLUTELY NO CHOCOLATE
There's no onion in cincinnati chili. It gets added at the end
Yes, there is so,do your research! Some use, dehydrated onions but, I like, to use real onion in mine and, I am not the only one who does the same thing!
While Skyline and Camp Washington won’t tell you their recipes, they do say there is no chocolate or coco powder in their chili recipes!!

@@sonyafox3271 wrong. Just listen to interviews by Skyline owners. They say there is no chocolate in their chili.

no beans please
It's really Saltsa Kima. Skyline's secret ingredient is Nutmeg. Trust me on this. There is no chocolate in any Cincinnati Chili chain.

@@sonyafox3271 Trust me, I have knowledge of it. There is no chocalate in Skyline Chili.
THAT'S NOT EVEN REMOTELY ENOUGH CHEESE
She doesn't know what she's doing, but she's charging full speed (sideways).
Every time I try I revert to my old recipe. Frustrating.
Just cooked today, not a fan of this style chili.
🤢🤢🤢
Way too thick. U need to pour some more beef broth up in there.
Too much beef broth will make it taste off and overpowering, no more than a half of a cup, you want the sauce thick not extremely watery!
