@@captainvadergaming4696 Money is always the bottom line. They most likely didn't put him in because they had spent enough money already elsewhere. It might cost a lot to not only hire the actor, but get any other rights they need to the characters. Ever notice how there is no OT imagery in the Disney park? I think it's because they don't have all the rights to Star Wars.

Do what Lucas intended. As Ewan McGregor and Mark Hamil (who probably should have directed since he is genuinely a legend) have stated, it is George's story. The story itself should be based on Lucas' scripts. 3 actual continuity sequels with the red Twilek, the new Jedi, Master Luke, and unifying the galaxy as well as the Whills. 🎬My Sequel triology would have had:
Luke, Leia and Han Solo at least on screen together for the 1st film in the triology
      Would have had:
1 x New Main Villain someone that knew Anakin and Palpatine before, and is now using a new Teal and black lightsaber never seen before from a Sith.
And the Main Hero would have been a slow transition for 3 movies from Master Luke Skywalker to ...his son.
His son would have been introduced in the 1st film
But clearly rebelled against Luke, not wanting to take any part in any Jedi training
Prefering instead a more free lifestyle like that of Han Solo.
So Luke, would have to go up against the main villain in the final confrontation of the 1st Sequel film,
Luke would display Jedi power like history had never seen,
Power shown on screen like green rivers of power throught trees, and nature, like establishing that ultimate Jedi powers lead to a linking with nature
and Luke, knowing he had to bring his best for this final confrontation, would wear a similar black Return of the Jedi outfit with his Green lightsaber,
...but Luke couldn't finish this new villain off
      Being more wise now,
Luke escapes, knowing he will need help,
      but he's importantly injured.
      His son,
At the end of the movie would force link with Luke
His son would get like flashbacks of all the stories he heard about Luke,
The audience would hear Luke's theme and see on screen quick previous clips of Luke turning of his targeting system, him facing Vader, him not giving in to the Emperor
...this would make Luke's son have a second thought, feel the importance of his Skywalker blood,
And towards the end of the 1st Sequel film Luke's son would desperately rush back home, would meet Luke and tell him
"Dad, sorry, I now want you to teach me the ways of the Force like your father before you
Now I know, Even if I run to the end of the galaxy
I will always be a Skywalker"
      and the 1st film ends.
The second film would have this New great villain Sith rising up so strong, that 90% of the Galaxy just out of fear would give in to his side.
While Luke desperately takes his son to a planet near Dagobah, where he has a meeting with all Force ghosts and they decide to do something never done before,
Anakin, Qui Gon and 1 more Force ghost would make themselves force ghost but in flesh just to be able to battle and train Luke's son.
Yoda is upset, but knows the danger the galaxy now faces.
and Luke's son would battle this New main Sith for the 2nd and 3rd film
...and of course at the end of this new triology
The Skywalker blood would have won.
The Galaxy would feel safe again, because a Skywalker came out on top.

I just want a story about Leia, her children and her training, she was obviously extremely important to be mentioned in Yoda’s last words, and it was explored well in legends but in this trilogy we only got a few out of nowhere mentions and a bad CGI scene. Like for 2 films she’s just a leader and all of a sudden she’s ready to be a Jedi in TROS again.

Tbh though the actors all got too old before anyone started making sequels. If Lucas hadn't waited so long between OT and prequels the sequels may have been started by him ten years before Disney even got a hold of the IP. It is much easier to make actors in their late 50s look young enough for whatever you want to do than it is with 75 year olds who die during the production. I liked the originals and enjoyed the prequels. But Lucas is a good case study of why, if you have a story to tell, you should tell it. Not string people along for decades. None of us live forever.
My trilogy is probably one made by Lucas around the turn of the millennium after his very successful prequel trilogy released in the early 90s. The Disney abomination is a direct result of all this procrastination.

According to Iger's book, Lucas wanted to retain most creative control, but Disney didn't like that. At some point during negotiations Lucas learned that a change in capital gains tax would cost him a large sum if he didn't sell by the end of that year. So, Lucas ran out of time and folded, putting Kennedy in place as a last resort, hoping that she would at least listen to his ideas.

BUT THEY ( THE VONG) WOULD APPEAR @ THE END OF FILM...

SO BASICALLY MY EP 7 WOULD MOSTLY BE LIKE THE LORD OF THE RINGS & HARRY POTTER MOVIES, HENCE ALOT MORE OF STORY TELLING WITH LESSER ACTION SCENES & MORE STORY TELLING SCENES INSTEAD
EP 8: BOOM! NOW THAT WE KNOW WHO THE MAIN VILLAN IS & NOW THAT ALL THE FORCE LORE & ALL THE STORY TELLING HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED , & NOW THAT WE GOT OUR FLASH BACK SCENES WITH ALL OF OUR OG HEROES OVER WITH , THE NEXT MOVIE ( EPISODE 8), STARTS LIKE THIS
EP 8; THE YUZHAN VONG & THE SITH VILLAN HAVE WAGED AN ALL OUT WAR ON THE GALAXY...
-WE NOW SEE OBI WANS GREAT GRANDCHILD MARRIED TO THE NEW SKYWALKER ( EITHER LEIA OR LUKES CHILD) HOW? SO IN CLONE WARS TV SHOW , OBI WAN HAD A LOVE INTEREST SATINE KRYZE, WHOM HE WAS INVOLVED WITH, & WE FIND OUT THAT SATINE , FOR FEAR OF OBI-WAN BEING EXPELLED FROM THE JEDI ORDER , SHE HID HER CHILD AWAY FROM MANDALOR & LATER ON THAT CHILD WOULD HAVE A CHILD & THAT CHILD - OBI-WANS GRANDCHILD - FOUND OUT THAT HIS GRANDFATHER WAS A JEDI NAMED OBI WAN & HIS GRANDMOTHER WAS A MANDALORIAN DUTCHESS SO HE WENT OUT LOOKING FOR THR SKYWALKER S IN ORDER TO LEARN THE WAYS OF THE FORCE & THEN HE WOULD MARRY A SLYWALKER CHILD / ADULT BY NOW SO THIS MOVIE WOULD INLOVE LOTS OF CHARACTER BUILDING AS WELL AS LOTS OF TRAINING

In one sentence: A trilogy about defending the victory earned at the end of Return of the Jedi, not reversing it for a new status quo.
A New Republic has been established, and Luke leads a new, but still fledgling and limited Jedi order. There are about 10-12 Jedi at various degrees of training and knighthood at the beginning of the trilogy. Even though it has been 35 years, we must remember that Luke had to start from absolutely nothing. The order has been restarted, but not completely rebuilt, we don't have 50-100 Jedi yet or anything like that.
The trilogy would be a bit of a reflection of the Prequel era in the structure and status quo of the world, but put through a much better filter. Leia is leading the Republic the RIGHT way, the structure is better, Luke's Jedi order isn't making the same mistakes as the order seen in the prequels. A lot of the same ideas....but done in a much more effective way.
The feel and tone would be ALL in the style of the originals. The original trilogy characters would all be in leading roles, all in Obi-Wan-esque positions of leadership and mentoring of the new cast, and the next generation characters would mostly be their children or their apprentices/underlings in some form.
The First Order would be a small, but rising terrorist cell, essentially. Imperial/dark side loyalists. No super weapons or huge armies. Episode 7 would end with them attempting something huge like the destruction of a major stronghold of power or planet(NOT using a Death Star or knock-off).....and they would obviously be thwarted. BUT their ideology and public display would naturally only bring more followers to their cause. Over the course of the trilogy, the threat, size, scope and power of the First Order grows from skirmishes to huge battles...leading to a massive conclusion(obviously) in Episode 9.
Instead of trying to bring back the emperor or anything specific like that to make the saga feel unified...this trilogy would be about pulling back on a more macro-level. The war has always been between the light side and the dark side. This trilogy would need to be about the destruction of the dark side itself....or at least the latest embodiment of it.
Really delving into 'the balance'. Luke should be a fountain of knowledge, wisdom, and when needed, power...but he can't be everywhere at once, which is how stakes and tension are maintained. I would love to get into the notion that that level of power a Jedi or Sith can reach is actually influenced on the force itself and the power struggle between the light and dark. When the light dominated in the prequels, we basically had superhero Jedi, as the darkness reigned over the galaxy, Obi-Wan and Luke were not so easily able to do the same kind of crazy things.
This would be a fun lore exploration....while also retroactively explaining some of the difference of power-scaling seen from the prequels to the originals....and would justify why the sequel trilogy could go back to having Jedi that are more flashy, powerful and acrobatic.
Poe would maybe be Han and Leia's son. Rey could still be a fresh character. Finn could easily be Finn Calrissian. Ben would be Ben Skywalker, not Ben Solo. Rey and Finn would be Jedi apprentices, but Rey would perhaps be a few more years into her training, having begun her training earlier.
Rey, Finn and Poe would be our trio of heroes....but Ben's arc of villain to hero would be the most central element of the story. By the end of the 2nd film his allegiance would be overtly ambiguous and he would fully commit to the light by the halfway point of the 3rd film.
I like the idea of a dark side equivalent to force ghosts....but the dark side users wanting to take it further and allow someone to regain physical form. But I WOULD NOT use it to bring back the Emperor....that is too obvious, and our new dark side users would obviously be critical of the way the emperor did things.
Instead, we would bring back Darth Maul....maybe it would even be an accident as a result of whatever darkside ritual/whatever they were planning to do. Maul would return and be imbued, obviously, with an insane amount of dark side power and energy. This way....when it comes down to the ultimate showdown at the end of episode 9....you get that level of full circle storytelling by having the villain of Episode 1 be the ultimate evil of Episode 9.
I don't know...that's at least what I came up with off the top of my head sitting here.

I have an idea, it's not the dark side, it's a new faction called Force Nihilists, they end up two ways, they either lose their connection to the Force, or become immune to its will and keep their connection, their end goal is to absorb enough energy/midichlorians to control and/or destroy the Force as this is their way of bringing peace, they get black lightsabers by severing the kyber crystal's connection to the Force, they low-key behave like Prequel Jedi and are against both Jedi and Sith, whatever Sith remnant there is can join forces with the Jedi, in my fanfic the Force Nihilists were Force users tortured and influenced by the Yuuzhan Vong who lost their connection to the Force

My sequel trilogy in 5 simple concepts (just add water!)
1.) Firstly just have Luke... be the Jedi master that he should have been.
You can have him scatter his new Jedi order in order for it to survive (i.e. he pre-empts the FOs attack etc). So no other jedis really need to be on screen and have their backstories catered too... just dont have the whole new order wiped out and effectively undermine the point of the OT.
2.) Luke Leia and Han on screen together. Doesnt need to be a pivital plot point. But have them all together interacting, reuniniting ...whatever.
    3) Palpatine, dont bring him back. It undermines Anakins / Vaders sacrifice. A force ghost - maybe? Alive as a zombified clone or ...whatever he was? No.
4.) In terms of general plot; the OT was about the Return of the Jedi, the PT was about their failures and their fall.
The ST should have been about their legacy. It can include Lukes death, but the Jedi order should have been revitalised over the course of his lifetime. The torch properly passed to another generation. Not just to one person with some half arsed training, and no Jedi order in existence.
5.) Stop caring about the main protagonists gender etc (referring to the whole the force is female BS).

Here's how I would remake the sequel trilogy:
    Prologue
    1. After the events of ROTJ, the Galactic Republic never really came back together due to many regions preferring to autonomy they were given under The Empire. This caused much conflict that almost erupted into a civil war. Without the Jedi Order to keep the peace and hold it all together, Leia's dream of a reconstituted Galactic Republic was slipping away.
    2. This struggle put strain on Han and Leia's marriage as it caused her to split her time between her family and her duties as a statesman. This especially affected Ben who felt neglected by her.
    3. Luke, who was under pressure to train a new generation of Jedi to re-establish the order as a force for peace and justice struggled with setbacks (pupils being tempted towards the Dark Side, etc.) and frustrations. Contending with feelings of inadequacy, lack of confidence in his abilities as a teacher, revelations of the Jedi Order's practices and failures in the past made Luke doubt that a new Jedi Order was what the galaxy actually needed. Most importantly, he now had a family (wife and daughter).
    4. Han, in the frequent absence of Leia due to her duties to the Republic spends much time raising Ben alone. The he loves his son dearly and has his heart in the right place, he is not really the best father figure and teaches Ben what he knows: how to survive in the under world (which in the absence of a dominating galactic authority/order was spreading in influence).
    5. At some point in his childhood Ben is kidnapped and held for ransom by elements of the Hut crime syndicate that are seeking retribution for the death of Jabba. While in captivity, Ben is exposed to more elements of the underworld and becomes corrupted. During this time, he starts to discover his force sensitivity and gradually learns how to use it to influence his captors. After a great deal of time searching for his son, Han (with the help of Luke and Chewie) rescues Ben and brings him home. Luke, upon seeing Ben senses a darkness in him that he feels will consume him and lead him down the path of darkness if left to his own devices. He sees much of Anakin in him. Luke suggests to Han and Leia that Ben be taken under his wing. Han and Leia reluctantly agree.
    6. As Ben learns more under Luke's tutelage, many of his dark urges become more taimed, though not completely. His young cousin (Luke's daughter) looks up to Ben and they have a close relationship. She is the only one Ben really opens up to about his time held captive by the Huts. He shares with her many of the abilities he discovered on his own in that time. Many of these abilities are dangerous and skate the line between dark and light. He becomes a bad influence on Luke's daughter and the other students. Luke's wife sees this and becomes concerned.
    7. Luke and Mrs. Skywalker argue about Ben and negative influence he is having on Luke's pupils, especially their daughter. Luke, being the optimist that he is does not want to give in to his wife's reservations about his nephew. He feels that he can keep Ben from going dark if he can teach him the right way. However, Luke has no idea how to do that since the precarious state of the galaxy and the struggle to keep his students from taking the quick and easy path are testing his resolve as well.
    8. In conversations with Luke, Ben learns more about his grandfather Anakin and what led him to turn to the Dark Side. Having always felt like he missed out on having his mother in his life, he starts to wonder if imperial rule is what the galaxy really needs after all. After all, he has witnessed the toll that reuniting the republic has taken on his family (especially his mother). As a result, he resolves to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and bring order to the galaxy.
    9. Ben decides to leave Luke's school against the urgings of everyone. Half of Luke's students go with him. Luke's daughter almost joins him, but Luke and his wife forbid her from doing so. This creates much resentment in Luke's daughter.
    10. Being at his wits end, Luke seeks to answer a question that has plagued him since he took Ben under his care: Is there a way to balance both the light and dark? Having reserched the history of the Jedi, the Sith, their eternal conflict and how that conflict has effected the galaxy as a whole, Luke comes to the conclusion that unless the Force is balanced within the individual, the Force will seek to establish balance in other ways. Those ways have been proven disasterous throughout history.
    11. Seeking greater insight (and perhaps and answer to the problem) Luke goes into a deep meditation. He goes so deep that he starts to feel the Force at a level that he had never achieved beforehand. Suddenly, he hears the voices of Obi Wan, Yoda and his father urging not to go any deeper. Just as he is about to heed their warning, he feels a presence embedded within the fabric of the Force itself. Curious, he reaches out to it. It reaches back, and consumes him. Luke passes out.
    12. Upon waking, Luke is surrounded by fire. His house is burning. Using the Force, he supresses the flames and goes outside to find his entire school burning. He frantically seeks out his wife and daughter and finds his wife lying dead in front of the student's quarters. He hears the screams of his students as they are burning alive. Absolutely distraught, he calls out to his daughter and feels a presence approaching from behind. He turns around and sees...himself, only younger. But, it is not him. It is the same presence he reached out to in his meditation.
    13. Somehow, Luke knows that this entity is the cause of what has happened. In a rage, he attacks the entity with the Force, and is soundly defeated. This entity (which could later be revealed as one of the Whils) has a direct connection to the Force and thus cannot be matched by any living Force user.
    14. Luke, left for dead, in the midst of the destruction of his school holds to his dead wife, and cries. He is never the same afterwards.
These are the events that would lead into my version of Episode 7.

When Luke left Dagobah in Ep5, Master Yoda said "Leave now and help them you could."
A sequel trilogy should have been about showing what he meant when Luke made that brash decision since everything panned out by the end of Jedi.
We saw the fall of the Old Republic in the prequels and then the rise and toppling of the Galactic Empire in the OT; the sequel trilogy should have been the first real test of the New Republic.
Our heroes of the OT should have been in their retirement years and their role shouldn't have been doing what they did before; they should have been the inspiration for highly relatable new characters that grew up in awe of these icons like the audience has.

But the irony is, they could have made a trilogy that most people liked and still have the confidence of most fans. Honor what has come before by using the material for inspiration to craft a story. Tell a good story that most people like and it will have much more success and lasting effects than doing what Disney did.

The sequel trilogy should not have tried to undo the ROTJ ending, but rather honor Anakin's legacy in the form of his grandchildren taking on the main roles and of course through Luke and Leia. We should have seen that Luke's new Jedi Order and the New Republic were able to maintain themselves, not crumble before we even got to see them. I think it would have been interesting for a new dark side threat (not Sith) to rise and fight against the Jedi and New Republic. The main thing the sequel trilogy should have done was respect Anakin and at least put his force ghost in. He is the main character of Star Wars after all. The sequel trilogy that we have just tries to tell the same story as the originals, but it does it in a worse way.

1 The trilogy to be well thought out in a consistent story that ends not only the ST but the entire Skywalker Saga in a way that makes sense and finishes the arc.

Actually, I believe there was a perfect slot to fit a new Trilogy in with the EU (legends) lore. The last novel with Luke, Han, and Leia all show them around the same ages as they were just before the Disney films took place. There were no books written to explain how their stories continued into their final days or how each of them passed away. That's because after that novel, the EU timeline fasts forward over a thousand years and we get into the "Legacy Era" with completely new characters. The Disney Trilogy could have filled in that Gap that was never answered. They would have probably had to add in characters like Jaina Solo (Jacen Solo and Mara Jada were both killed long before this point in time, so they wouldn't HAVE to mention them if it was unnecessary) but that's a plus honestly. EU fans would know about her previous adventures, but the general audience would get to be introduced to her for the first time through this new trilogy and start following her journey from there!
People dismiss the idea that new films could have existed within the EU much too quickly. If people with passion, creativity, respect for the material, and the knowledge of the EU timeline were behind these new films, they could have made it work and fit it all together phenomenally.
Truly a missed opportunity of Galactic proportions.

You still have sympathizers, people who agreed with the empire's ideas, and tons of armies of factions still around. As well, the old republic re-establishing itself as law after the power vacuum left from the fall of the empire. Honestly, I didnt like what we got. Thematically, I would have had the ST show Luke and the next generation restart the Jedi in a way that “fixed” the flaws of the Jedi seen in the PT. Show a new Jedi order that has figured out attachment, that can spot evil rising within, and that can be humble about itself and its place in the galaxy. I would not have had one single enemy or evil faction, but a new one in each episode in order to explore these themes. At the end of the saga, while Anakin would have restored balance, Luke his son would have restored the Jedi Order itself. On the flip side, show the Republic being the one with all the might and the power, and learning how to use that for peace and justice, and not for conquest. Show how Anakin’s daughter Leia is the one who restores the Republic. At the end, you have a Republic and a Jedi Order at harmony and that truly espouses the ideals that were only there in shadows in the PT and OT. This would have been a moral lesson that the world needs today.

I guess , what i `m trying so say here is that Disney ("THE fairy tale making company") forgot to start off with writing a good simple catchy one sentence fairy tale to base the whole sequel trilogy story on.
No matter how complex you want to make a Star Wars Trilogy, it needs to have foundation to hang that complexity on (or else its not complexity but a mess), and that foundation has to be a simple good fairy tale. (even the prequels had that)
The reason that the sequel trilogy was doomed from the start, is because Disney does not even understand Star Wars on that basic level.

Personally, for the first little bit it would be quite similar to the beginning of the sequels. Rey, Kylo Ren, Snowk, etc.
The first movie would be about finding Luke and stopping the First Order. It would be similar to Force Awakens, but instead of StarKiller Base the Rebellion is fighting for an important planet (maybe it’s on a hypespace lane or something that would take the FO right into the core and allow them to take over). Rey fights Kylo and loses, but is saved somehow. She goes to find Luke because Leia senses her power. The movie finishes as Rey begins training with Luke (he is hidden away because he is waiting for the next great Jedi to find him), but as the rebels near victory in their battle they encounter a sith, Darth Maul (stay with me)
The second movie is about fighting off Darth Maul and other sith (like Darth Bane and other sith of the past) that have appeared for yet to be explained reasons and turning Ben Solo back. That way we get a full movie and a bit with Ben
The third movie is about encountering Snowk who turns out to be Darth Plageus. He used his power to manipulate life to bring back the sith of old. Together Ben and Rey take out Snowk and the revived sith and retake the galaxy.

I would've preserved the finality of Return of the Jedi by making it that there's no Sith, Empire, Dark-Side Force-wielders, etc. Instead, the conflict would center around the fallout from the fall of the Empire and the power vacuum created as a result. The New Republic is patchwork, can't be everywhere at once, and it's filled with bureaucrats who expect to see things return to the way they were in The Prequels. Many in the Galaxy, however, do not want to see things return to square 1, so they refuse to join the New Republic, which in turn acts like those planets don't have a choice. Things erupt into civil war.
Luke and his new Jedi have divorced themselves from politics in order to focus on following the will of the Force. As such, Luke tries to stay out of the fight, but eventually, he has no choice but to take part... by fighting against the New Republic (which Leia and Han are fighting for).
    What do you think?

    • @nichtvorhanden5928
      @nichtvorhanden5928 4 года назад +2

Interesting Idea but the main problem is that the actors who played Luke, Leia and Han back then are now (beginn of the shooting for Episode 7) 30 years+ older and 30 years to get to the point at which Luke has to consider to fight against his sister and one of his best friends could be a little bit to long, if lets say the Empire collapses and/or comitting suicide as in the new canon that problems would occur earlier. If the Empire becomes partitioned and the New Republic has to fight remnants of the Empire Luke would rather fight with Han and Leia than against the new Republic. Maybe it could be made that the Jedi can not afford it to save a campaign against an en enemy of the New Republic but I dont think they would fight over this problem. The biggest Problem is that you have to consider that, as it happend with Carrie Fisher, one actor from the original cast could simply die and would make it more difficult to make a film with much screentime for them.
But I think the Idea for the story could be used for a book or book series and if executed well it would be fun to read.

I think the best sequence would have been something that takes inspiration from history. After Alexander the Great died, his massive empire divided into 5 smaller empires that fought each other for dominance until those fell as well.
You could have had 4-6 different villains trying to fight our heroes, but also each other for dominance. Maybe one is Admiral Thrawn himself, and another is a politically well connected Politician from the imperial senate, and another is ruthless crimelord that took over Jabba the Hutt's criminal empire. Another could be a mysterious new sith lord like Snoke. All these bad guys try to assert their authority in their own section of the Galaxy forcing a much more ugly civil war as they all jostle for position and control of Coruscant in GoT fashion. It's not just a matter of good guys killing bad guys but also convincing the worlds they visit that Luke and Lea are the real deal and not just another faction trying to leverage the Jedi memory to gain power.
You could even "subvert our expectations" by having snoke knocked off in episode 8, but with all the other antagonists well established in episode 7. Only then do we realize that Thrawn is the true threat in episode 9 when he takes down his last rival in opening of E9. Though he had no sith powers, he was established as more intelligent, more charismatic, and more determined than any of the other antagonists that were trying to fill the power vacuum.
Most of the Old Guard died in episodes 7 and 8 as per Harrison Ford's request, and the young guns have to take on Thrawn alone using what they've learned. I definitely would have avoided the plot threads where Han and Luke are old disillusioned losers though. What they had to do, but didn't:
    1. Keep events and characters consistent. If something or someone changed, have a good explanation.
*2. Give us a reasonable explanation for where the antagonists came from, and what their goals & motivations were.*
    3. Give your protagonists proper characterization, and keep it consistent.
    4. Don't try to ramp up the stakes by just making "It's like a Death Star, but MOOOAAARR!"
    5. If you're going to blow up a planet, make it tense, make it plot crucial, and make it mean something to the audience.
    6. Don't bring back Palpatine, that just screws up everything.
    7. CONTROL. YOUR. F*CKING. DIRECTORS.
    8. Keep characters & story before agenda. Your message is only as good as the character and story that conveys it.
If they had just followed these rules, I probably would have loved the sequel trilogy. Even characters like Rose Tico or Admiral purple-hair could have been interesting if the writer had made them believable characters first.

Lucas was going to dive into the "whills", which are the entities behind the Force, who act on Force-sensitive races through the midichlorians.
If I understand this correctly, this relates to Jung's idea, "People don't have ideas, ideas have people." This would have been an interesting exploration of something very, very deep in human psychology, and I'm not sure if anyone could have quite pulled it off.

The biggest disapointment of the sequels for me was not having Anakin's force ghost in The Rise of Skywalker. You'd think by the title they'd bring back the saga's central character for a triumphant return, but instead they just made him disembodied voice. If TLJ disrespected Luke through character assassination, TROS disrespected Anakin by excluding him from what should've been the coda to his story.

I think my trilogy would've been taken heavily from the expanded universe. 7, 8, and 9 would be the alliance transitioning into taking and holding worlds, go into the internal struggles of the empire as moffs split and fought back and forth, and how it splintered the empire. Have two main plots, first have an officer dedicated to the empire attempt to hold it together and resist the alliance. But he's constantly being undercut by greedy moffs fighting back and forth. Follow his battles with the aliance fleets under Akbar/Solo. 2nd plot would of course be the struggles and victories of luke, han, leia, and so on, to retake the galaxy, and form a "new republic" and go into the struggles of decisions from a political perspective with leia, and Luke's search to rebuild the jedi, as he finds hopefuls, and maybe one turns against him and joins the empire, and so you have this duo of the brilliant officer and the new sith lord, resisting the alliance. Conquest of Coruscant in episode 8 by the alliance. Episode 9 the final defeat of the empire, triumph of luke, leia, and han, and the signing of the new republic charter ushering in a new era for the galaxy.

I would have put it way into the future, say a couple of hundred years or more, where the whole galactic civil era was just an dark memory of old tales. Then we could have a gang of young Jedi padawans with Rey and Finn in the lead on a quest to explore the stories of theyre childhood in order to find out what really happend and if there still was a threat from the assumed death Sith. They could find Jedi and heroes from the past through holograms, holocrons, force visions and force ghosts to help them on the path and it could all have ended with all those heroes from past and current to gather together to help Rey save the day and bring a final defeat to the Sith. Then those new heroes could go on and have theyre own movies where they handled new and different threats to the galaxy. Johan

I think this is one of your best written-discussed videos I've seen over the last several months, especially the whole "What Lucas was thinking....." theories. Selling to Disney on its surface was actually a VERY GOOD idea and if everyone took a step back and said, "what I do... xxx" its a very valid sell for him. Disney was a very logical choice to continue his vision, his movies, the SW story on a general path.
Unfortunately, as w/many things in todays world for whatever reason corporate paths, direction, hell I dunno what word to use, really went off the tracks and let EVERYONE down, except for maybe their stocks or stockholders. Its actually kinda sad, heartbreaking b/c I think we can ALL see, gosh this road right over here was sooo easy to go down, your path was lite so easily to follow and they said, "you know what?? Lets cut a path through all this bush, briar and thorns for NO particular reason and see whats behind it all.

Here’s the Trilogy synopsis I came up with. It’s long so make sure you have time before you decide to read through it. Critique it as you may.
Episode 7: Echoes from the Darkness
Plot: The New Republic faces off against the First Order, a military junta built off the back of the Imperial Remnant. No one knows the true leader behind the group. However, its commander ‘Kylo Ren’, a masked figure who idolizes the old Empire, holds a significant threat to the newly united galaxy and holds a curious grudge against Skywalker and his New Jedi Order.
Climax: Kylo Ren and the First Order fleet arrive above Yavin IV, the location of the new Jedi Temple. A battle ensues and the Jedi are hard-pressed to defend their temple. Kylo Ren manages to defeat Rey in a duel. When all hope is lost, the Republic fleet arrives and forces the First Order to retreat to fight another day.
Resolution: Rey meets with Luke after the battle who hints that he knows more of this threat than he’s letting on. The final scene shows Kylo Ren arriving at the planet Mustafar where Vader’s Temple once stood and bowing before a throne which obscures a dark figure sitting on it. Kylo removes his mask and the dialogue between him and the shadowy figure reveals him as Ben Solo, son of Han Solo. The movie ends with Kylo Ren leaving angrily, having failed to destroy the Jedi. The camera pans as though it is going to reveal the face of the figure before it cuts to credits, leaving the viewer to wonder what the identity of this strange being is.
Episode 8: Knights of the New Republic
Plot: After the second Battle of Yavin, Luke senses a threat beyond the First Order and receives a vision of a pale-faced being with a scar commanding Kylo Ren from the shadows. Luke recruits a team of Jedi Knights led by his daughter Rey Skywalker to the Sith Homeworld of Moraband to recover a dark Holocron that may hold the secrets to this threat. Meanwhile, the First Order has been growing abnormally in strength and the Republic fights desperately to quell the growing threat.
Climax: Rey and her team are attacked on Moraband by Kylo Ren and his followers, a group of elite dark side adepts named the Knights of Ren. Rey defeats Kylo and his followers are forced to flee.
Resolution: Kylo is aboard Rey’s shuttle where he is being questioned about the First Order. She reveals that his capture has remained anonymous and the news has not yet reached the New Republic, hoping to use this as leverage to convince him to speak. Kylo finally reveals the identity of the true mastermind. An ancient being who calls himself ‘Snoke’ who has been around for centuries. He reveals his lineage to Han Solo and that Snoke used his family as manipulation to turn him to the dark side. The final scene shows the Knights of Ren kneeling before the shadowy figure just as Ben had at the end of the previous film, to reveal the betrayal of their ‘brother and leader’ Kylo Ren. The camera pans once again, this time fully revealing the face of Snoke to the audience. Snoke simply gives a grin and chuckles before the credits roll.
    Episode 9: The Last War
Plot: With Ben Solo redeemed Snoke reveals himself to the galaxy and takes control of the First Order, renaming them the ‘New Galactic Empire.’ With a now fully established Empire, Snoke declares war on the Republic. Luke receives a vision from his father Anakin, whom he had not communed with in ages, who says that the boy (Ben Solo) and Leia are the keys to everything. That the New Empire threatens the balance in the force and that they must be stopped from conquering a single world if they are to be vanquished for good. Luke calls a meeting at the Jedi Temple, ordering all Jedi to attend, where he lays out a plan for the Jedi and Republic to defend the core worlds and the rest of the galaxy.
Climax: Several battles ensue across the galaxy with the Republic facing off against an emboldened empire led by Sith puppets put in place by Emperor Snoke. Ben, Rey, and Leia head to the planet ‘Morge’ (Note: Doesn’t exist in any continuity. Legit made up the planet. Think Malacor from Rebels merged with Exegol. That’s the idea behind the planet.) in the unknown regions where Snoke resides while Luke uses the Holocron recovered from Moraband to shield the Jedi and Republic forces from the influence of the enemy.
Resolution: Snoke reveals his identity as Palpatine’s former master Darth Plagueis who had deceived his apprentice into believing his death. He believes the galaxy is too far gone to ever be redeemed and that the ultimate goal of the Sith has always been to purge and dominate not just the galaxy, but the universe at large in order to establish what they believe is the ‘perfect paradigm.’ At his Palace, he has long been performing experiments to unlock immortality and power so that he could ascend himself to a god-like status. He reveals his latest discovery to the Jedi, an ancient ritual used by the first people of the galaxy to attain what seemed like nigh unlimited power which he hoped to execute. It’s revealed that only a Skywalker has the power to stop the ritual. That their bloodline has existed longer than they have imagined. The Knights of Ren then interrupt and a duel begins with Rey and Ben fending off the knights while Leia attempts to stop the ritual. Luke senses the battle from across the galaxy and uses the Holocron’s power to shield the entire Temple where the duel is taking place, ending the ritual and destroying Snoke in the process. The planet Morge begins to collapse and the three Jedi are forced to flee the planet. Returning to Yavin IV we get a final celebration scene mixing elements from A New Hope and Return of the Jedi. The movie shows scenes of the planets rejoicing along with the Republic soldiers celebrating their victory. The movie ends with Luke and the others standing side by side surrounded by the force ghosts of the great Jedi of old. Roll credits. End of the trilogy.
I left out a few details to try and shorten things but this is more of a basic outline of how I would go about things. Let me know what you think. I spent some time thinking this bit over and I might think about actually fleshing out this idea but I’ve had it as my brainchild for a while now of a basic idea of what I would want. I won't go into a rant on that here though. May the force be with you. Thanks for reading this if you did. I'm out.

Great video maybe a bit too honest and personal which makes it very much needed. I do enjoy the new movies but couldn't find in them what Star Wars is all about. It is only MY opinion but for me one of the key aspects is hope. It was always hope above all else. Hope to fix your family, hope to fix your world and the life of your beloved ones. To save people... Not destroy, disappoint and kill all things however great that line is. THAT is Star Wars. Argument, passion, belief, family, MOST of all family. So everyone, and I do assume all of us Star Wars fans should cherish to receive some new products to have fun with or be upset with. We do all enjoy this because this what makes us: the star wars family:)

If I had my way, the sequel trilogy would begin as follows where Episode VII takes place within a few years, if not immediately after, the battle of Endor and the destruction of the second Death Star.
The situation in the Galaxy is as follows:
    1. With the destruction of the second Death Star, the death of Emperor Palpatine, and the Rebel Alliance scoring another major victory, more systems openly join the Rebel Alliance. There is a power struggle within within the remaining forces while at the same time they are still in a state of war against the Rebel Alliance.
    2. Coruscant is still the capital planet of the Empire, and the Rebel Alliance, now with open/public support and membership of many systems, forms (an interim) New Republic Government. But this New Republic is also not completely united or homogeneous, they also have their own internal political agendas/struggles between various factions. They do not disarm or demilitarize. They have scored several more victories and are preparing to re-capture Coruscant which is still the primary seat of power/government for the Empire.
    3. Luke Skywalker, after having redeemed his father and the death of Palpatine, is now focusing on re-establishing the Jedi Order. He has managed to find a few Force sensitive (maybe surviving Jedi in training or Padawans who managed to escape the purge and were in hiding during the rule of the Empire, or maybe "children" of Jedi who managed to escape the purge) and looking to find/restore lost knowledge of the Jedi/Force.
    4. Leia Organa, as she is a trained diplomat and former member of the Imperial Senate, focuses her energies on the "political/diplomatic" missions of the Rebel Alliance/New Republic and gathering more allies.
    5. Han Solo is playing the role of a military commander/leader in the Rebel Alliance and is tasked by those higher in the chain of command to assist in making the mission/battle to re-capture Coruscant a success.
    6. There is a mysterious/masked person shadowing/trailing Luke.
If I had to split my take on Episode VII into three acts, this is my take on Act III.
Luke and maybe a few of his new-found fellow Force sensitive "trainees" have secretly infiltrated Coruscant snuck into the old Jedi Temple to see if there is anything to help them re-establish the Jedi order and learn the ways of the Force. Unknown to Luke, there is an assassin tracking him. At the same time, Han and maybe with Chewie and Lando, have also infiltrated Coruscant to gather support/form a fifth column among the population who will be ready to provide planetside military support the moment the Rebel Alliance/New Republic's fleet launches its attack on the Imperial forces defending Coruscant.
Act III ends with the Imperial forces defending Coruscant being defeated and the planet falling into the hands of the Rebel Alliance/New Republic. Luke manages to fight off the assassin, who though manages to escape and flees on an imperial shuttle. The assassin, worn out from fighting Luke, and the escape shuttle having some damage, is lost in space but doesn't know it has a tracking beacon. That beacon allows an Imperial Star Destroyer to locate the shuttle and the assassin is rescued. On board, the assassin's mask is finally removed when the commander of the Star Destroyer enters to question the assassin. The final scene shows the audience that the assassin is a woman with red hair and is greeted by the commander of the Star Destroyer as "Emperor's Hand". The scene doesn't show the audience the face of the commander, but shows that he is wearing a white uniform, has dark hair and blue skinned hands.
    Roll end credits.
Prequel Trilogy: Fall of the Galactic Republic due to corruption, and also the Jedi Order due to arrogance, complacency, over confidence and of course due to Palpatine's manipulations.
Original Trilogy: The struggle to topple the reign of an Empire that oppresses freedom. A journey of the hero to redeem his father.
Sequel Trilogy (what it should have been): The struggle to restore peace and order, freedom, democracy, in the Galaxy. And also the restoration the Jedi Order.

I think it would have been great to see the Empire fractured into many factions, with the remains of the Imperial navy trying (and failing) to maintain power, and
the New Republic (the reformed Rebel Alliance) and a New Jedi Order under Luke trying to bring actual order to the galaxy. In fact, Kylo Ren could be used to better effect in this version, because he'd see the chaos of the Empire's fall as an actual _reason_ to trust the Imperial Remnant more than the Republic.
