She disrespected a human being and instead of apologising went straight on the defence. Polynesian/Island ethnic groups are proud of their heritage and to hear a rude pronunciation of a name is something they will not stand for. That is why people are/were angry with her. It came across as self righteous and egotistical. I feel she really could have addressed the initial mistake differently and all of this would have been avoided. I sure don't condone some of the nasty comments people did write and will admit some were downright disgraceful. I even reported some myself due to the nature. However, I also was shocked when I first heard her comment and went back and had to listen to it a few more times to make sure I heard it correctly. I was shocked and quietly disgusted myself. My workplace also were in shock and it was the topic of conversation even more when she attacked and was on the defence.
She's a racist bogan. There's tons of other quotes from her mocking other races. Even if it's not racist, even if you think it's just "good ol' larriken aussie humour", then it boils down to this person having a mindset of a 12 year old making playground jokes and thinking its funny. Quite sad and pathetic really.
Would hate to be her legal council, she has spouted so many racist comments on the radio and it's all recorded. If I was Erin Molan, I would give this case away because it will make her look worse than she does now.
What a joke. Millions of kids bullied, often for years on end, and not just with words, but also violence and social rejection, and nothing gets done. I was a victim of bullying who often fought back- the teachers and my parents told me; “We can’t help you if you respond with the same behavior. Tell them to stop. If they don’t, then tell a teacher, and they’ll do something about it.” On the occasions that I tried this, it usually resulted in the bullies getting a lecture... When I told my parents about being bullied on the bus and they went to the principal about it. Again there was a lecture. It was also decided that I should sit at the front right behind the driver. It didn’t help- in fact, since the youngest kids sat at the front, and the oldest at the back, I was a 16 year old boy, sitting at the front with all the kids under 10. So on top of the existing names, I was now called a paedophile as well as a snitch, a pussy, a crybaby, teachers pet, etc because I told the teachers. As an adult I have major self-esteem and social anxiety issues as a result- but I was lucky. Although I did contemplate suicide, I never actually attempted it (I couldn’t put my family through that pain). Many children and teens who are victims of bullying do end up taking their lives. But very little gets done to solve the problem. Until a pretty blond woman is targeted! Then suddenly new laws are passed as a result. Just goes to show, society just values some people more than others
@@djmobn oh I see. Slight misunderstanding here. I didn’t mean a literal joke, or that anything was funny. I meant “joke” as in ridiculous or unbelievable. And I was referring to the specific situation that caused such a response; -She said something that some found offensive. -Some of those offended reacted very poorly out of anger (which is not an excuse for how they reacted). -She is upset by how these people reacted, makes no acknowledgement of having any responsibility in the situation, and manages to gain so much sympathy it gets noticed at a national level. Ignoring her original comment, the comments directed at her are inexcusable, and I completely agree with something being done about it. What I find ridiculous and unbelievable is that this specific incident is what managed to make people care enough to do something about it. Never mind the countless suicides, and people suffering from real, long term and profound harm- it took a pregnant radio personality with no sense of personal accountability getting angry because people said nasty things to her for society to pay attention. And completely ignores the source of the problem- that child bullies grow up to be adult bullies and internet trolls because they learned at a young age that it’s ok to treat others like shit, because they won’t face any actual consequences. Sorry for the rant, I hope this clarifies my intention.

Complete hypocrite. Not about celebrities.....but about me..
This woman needs to be held accountable for her own despicable comments.
