    You can actually shoulder the weapon with the brace. ATF doesn't classify shooting position as a change in the design of the brace/weapon.

    • @GY6vids

      They don't anymore, but at the time of filming this video they did consider it an illegal act(When in the public eye, it's best to error on the side of caution).

    Just pickup up the Gen 2 in .45 myself. According to the user manual, the Vector should only be loaded with the bolt locked back. Thought I would point that out. Also like you mentioned and to anyone reading this: a vertical grip (recommend Magpul RVG) is practically a must.

    The Vector's recoil reduction system and the AK-107's recoil counterbalance systems are the biggest innovations in firearms since the STG-44.

    • @paralyzdtheory
      @paralyzdtheory Год назад

      I found it to not be innovative. Yes, there is less vertical recoil(which i find easier to control), but now theres more horizontal recoil (which is harder to control).

    i bought one of these when they first were introduced, i could not get over the cons as you mentioned, i was constantly sending the bolt home on a empty mag, OR my hand was hitting the other side of the bolt release causing the bolt to stay open. I thought for sure the one i bought had steel surrounding the ejection port and not poly like the one you have there, i could be wrong.
    great vids, keep up the good work!

  • @pavmentsurfer13
    @pavmentsurfer13 7 лет назад

    Excellent video. I just bought a 9mm rifle version of the vector and I love it, but every one of your cons is something I have personally experienced. At first I thought my mags weren't locking in correctly because they kept falling out. Then I realized what you did, my hand was dropping them. So I moved my hand forward, then the bolt hold wasn't working... again, it was my hand, so I moved it again and THEN the bolt would lock open during firing... all because my hand was actuating the controls during firing. I installed a Magpul RVG and boom... all problems went away and the gun is flawless.
    one thing to note that I think you missed is that the grip takes magpul grip inserts. Battery holders, oil bottles etc. Which I thought was pretty cool. Ive been told the Vector likes to be run wet... if thats true, the magpul oil bottle insert would be very handy.
    I had the original Vector in 45acp. I didnt find that gun nearly as pleasant to shoot as the 9mm. Im canadian so ours are all semi of course, but I fired a full auto vector at Big Gun Fun in West Yellowstone montana and it was absolutely incredible. If you want to understand just how impressive the Super V system really is, try a full auto in 45...
    Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.

  • @Warterdesmanne
    @Warterdesmanne 7 лет назад +1

    I agree about the ergo piece. Holding further down the side resulted in the heel of my palm being pinched by the hold open as that release snaps on the last round. Vertical grip it is for my SDP 45, sure happy there is enough rail on top for a light along with a red dot... It is super wicked though and sure turns some heads especially on the pistol side of my local range. Sits in the bedroom with a 30 full of HST.

    As a non-American, the regulation surrounding firearms in the US sounds hilarious to me. You are not allowed to put the "pistol" brace on your shoulder according to the NFA. I am just wondering, what if someone holding a "pistol" with a "brace" happened to be caught in the middle out a shootout? Should he violates the law by resting the "brace" in his shoulder to improve the handling of the weapon like any stock supposed function as or should he respect the law and try firing with certain catch and limitations in firing an SMG-designed firearm like a "pistol"?
    Let's say he chooses to violate the law and neutralize the bad guys. Will he then be "decorated" as hero or branded as a criminal?
    My questions are pure curiosity, I ave no intention to make fun of this beautiful video or any laws whatsoever.

    • @spraynpray
      @spraynpray 2 года назад

      I doubt anyone was charged with shouldering a brace. But that's why governments have laws. So they can pick and choose who goes to jail.

    Hey man here's a little tip, when you're holding the mag well of the vector place your thumb below the bolt catch and place your forward palm Ridge (the area at your finger joint or below your knuckles) in the mag well indentation. It well feel awkward at first, but it is the most efficient way to fire the vector will holding the mag well.

    I have found the difference in accuracy between my standard and SBR 45ACP Vector to be fairly substantial. At 20 yards I shoot consistently sub 2 MOA freehand red dot on the standard, and about double that on the SBR. For some reason the spread gets a bit larger when the SBR gets hot, while the standard Kriss remains fairly consistent. Not sure if it is the ammo, as I generally use Blazer. Anyone else see this?

    I have had same probs with ergonomics and hitting safety, mag release, bolt release, etc. vertical fore grip took care of all except safety issue. Looks a little funny tho. Obviously u can't do the foregrip until u get the official sbr stamp. Only other issue I had on the 45 (I have 9 and 45) is it's very very hard to seat the mag when it's full cap. Have to keep less 1 in mag to do any fast reloads. I even sent it back to vector to check it out and they said it was 100% fine. 9mm is fine in that case. Overall fun fun gun tho!

    I noticed a significant POI shift when using a silencer on my .45ACP Gen2 Vector. The shift was highly consistent, always down and right by the same amount, but it was a noticeably larger shift than I would have expected. Should I be worried, or is this something to expect from this caliber when using a short barreled gun (especially when having to use a thread adapter)?

    Hi Andrew, what kind of luck have you had with those extended capacity aftermarket Glock magazines? Would you recommend them? Trying to decide between those, Glock mags or waiting for Magpul to release their 27 round versions (for 9mm).

    I just purchased one of these beauties and I to have the "brace" not a buttstock. I'm still confused on why they say its considered a pistol and i was told i cant put a forward grip on it too. To many laws and loopholes lol. I didnt know you could switch out calibers. I got mine in 9mm instead of .45 for cheaper reloads. My favorite feature is the threaded barrel so I can put my Osprey on it. Your video did answered some questions for me, thanks.

    love my gen2 45acp cant wait to pick up the 10mm for some smooth boar hunting. Interesting though right out of the box the thing was zero'd ready to go.

    Now's the time to get the SDP! We can shoulder braces now! Check out the Tailhook brace - it keeps the whole stock the same except for the butt. (Also, POWEREDbyMARIO has an awesome Vector even though I want a 10mm SBR.)

    Great vid - convinced me to NOT buy the 45ACP (or any KRISS). FTE caused low quality receiver material to break, ERGO issues, etc. - this thing isn't fully baked, maybe Gen III? I'll stick with my UZI 45 :-)) Thanks again!

    @GY6vids It looks like that ergo problem could be solved with a front end attachment... like a shroud that can house a suppressor or something? Do you know if Kriss makes any aftermarket products like that?

    I have a gen 1 SBR in 45acp and the ejection port is all metal and even being metal it has tiny lol nicks in it from the brass shells ejecting and for the bolt stop and releas you just gotta keep your thumb down or you can use the charging handle to rest your thumb

    Since when are regulations law ? The ATF only has the authority to write regulations to existing law. There is no law on how you fire a weapon.

    • @shutupbear
      @shutupbear 7 лет назад +3

      But there is law about putting stocks on pistols.

    • @rbhe357
      @rbhe357 5 лет назад +2

      The ATF isn't writing law here. They are classifying a type of weapon based upon how it is put to use. Shouldering an arm brace effectively modifies the intended design. This decision has now reversed by the ATF anyway. Google it.
