As an artist and an instructor that has filmed my painting for others…..it is such a gift that an artist will take the time to set up and record and share their techniques with us for free…..so when you think about making a snarky comment….think before doing so…..unless you have done this process it’s a lot harder than you can imagine. BTW….beautiful work and thank you.
As a _____ Im clearly a bot
WOW- I read every comment and did not see anything coming near snarky. Fascinating that your thoughts would go so negative so quickly.
Thanks you so much, I really appreciate that!
...from what I've seen so far, 99.9% of the comments on you tube clips like this one are over-enthusiastic (wow, I love it, etc.), regardless of the quality of the presentation, which speaks eloquently about the level of the public (this kind of public, clapping between parts at concerts is called "generous" there)...
...This happens to be a serious, professional demo, but, in my view, too many of them are made for lucrative purposes...
Beautiful man. Minimalistic yet so sophisticated ❤

I like your painting. Are you using acrylic or oil? You can paint layers with oils, some do not.
If you look at the shots of his pallette, there are two small containers which are used for oil painting mediums...so my guess is Oils.
Oils, as they mix so well and smoothly on his palette and don't dry in between.
Sorry I should have said, this is all with oils. I much prefer oil as it can be wet and usable on the palette for hours, and it is easier to paint wet in wet with oils, which I prefer...
Nice art 👍❤
Looks simple but difficult to do.Great
@@user-ck9wz4hd4pmy thoughts as well
Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it!
Im interested, why orange colour is under paimt. What difference is if you paint a blue sky on the white canvas??Anyway,,the sky you made is amazing ,so clear and fresh!👍
With oil paint, a base layer helps the paint blend and spread. The color adds a layer that can be used later in the painting
@@KnewTherapy @bobymox ... and can glow through the paint layer above it, depending on the transparency of the paints you're using. Kind of optical mixing.
Great replies and sorry I've taken so long. The colour to put down as an underpainting or ground is really personal. A more neutral colour is easier to judge subsequent layers of colour on, but a coloured ground tends to peep through later layers of paint, and if it is different to them it makes them more lively. So orange under a blue sky does tend to give a livelier feel to the painting, particularly if the ground is never completely covered...
Nice videos, do you ever use acrylic?
Thanks! I very seldom use acrylic. I like to have paint on my palette for long periods without drying, and also being able to paint wet in wet on the canvas. I find acrylic too limiting for that...
Was the transparent red oxide you used as a ground dry before you began painting the pale blue sky?
This is what I paint most of the time because of the place I live. You are doing a wonderful job on showing and talking about the process
I would guess yes.
Yes it was. I would paint straight onto the transparent red oxide ground with similar colours, but to paint a light blue sky it's much easier to let the ground dry first...
Did the background dry before you applied the blue sky? i can't see that your paint is contaminated by the orange? thanks.
Fat over lean with oil paint will achieve this. The under coat is very thin with paint thinner and the over coat is made with more oil (fat)
Yes.

Is this oil or acrylic thank you
Oil.
This is all oil paint...

That’s a very nice painting….. of a sunset. How are you calling this a landscape painting?
The sunset/sunrise is happening in the landscape? More sky, less sky, I see them all as landscapes...
Nice😂
Thanks!
Less is truly MORE! Knock -out....
Thanks!
You’re not teaching. You’re totally blocking half the canvas!
Why do some people think it’s okay to be rude online? Are you paying for this lesson, or is it free? Would you speak to someone you don’t know like that?
Frankly, I can see perfectly well.
Some people's kids...honestly...🤦♀️
The teacher is showing the technique, not the actual picture or painting as such, if you can't imagine what is behind him whilst he's explaining the technique then perhaps you should be thinking of taking up something else besides painting. You see you need a brain to paint, a brain with imagination. I think that maybe you may be lacking in both.....great lesson by the way...👍
Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it!
