    It always breaks my heart to see older people working so hard especially in a lot of Asian countries because they're pushed to the back burner when they're deemed "useless to society". I don't know how true that is, but that's what I've been told traveling around and living overseas for awhile.

    • @fredlin6303
      @fredlin6303 11 месяцев назад +7

      All depends on the family situation. Traditionally, the children take care of the parents. However, China had the one-child policy for a long time. If the parents out-lived the child, they usually ended up having to make a living anyway they can. With the current lack of marriage and child birth, China will end up with an unsustainable higher elderlies population.

    • @user-vm5ud4xw6n

      Pretty weird thought process. Seems like throughout countries like China, Vietnam, maybe Laos/Cambodia, not sure. But especially China, Grandparents and even elderly strangers are venerated. A young married couple are expected to take care of parents and if they are still alive, grandparents (glad there’s social security here) as well. A terrible burden on the couple but it’s their duty. Except this poor man is probably in his 60’s-IDK if he said-and he’s considered worthless to society. With nothing to contribute. So he’s out on the street hawking fruit and vegetables. He’ll probably go home to a bowl of noodles with a little meat, maybe, or a bowl of rice. And lay down on a mat on the cold hard floor to try and sleep for a bit until he has to get up in the morning to start over again. Apparently he has no family to take him in. Something is wrong with thais picture!!

    Ở VN thì bán hàng vỉa hè nó thành 1 văn hóa rồi, nên chúng ta thấy đầy đường. Nhưng trong những người bán hàng đó có người bình thường, có người nghèo nhưng cũng có những người giàu hơn nhân viên văn phòng nhiều. Nhưng ở TQ thì rất ít gặp người bán hàng rong kiểu như ông này, nhưng nếu đã gặp thì họ khổ thật. Không phải đến mức là họ đói kém nhưng ở giữa thành phố mà không có tiền thì cực kỳ áp lực. Mình cũng đã có lần gặp 1 cụ bà bán mấy quả hồng, (tức là ít hơn ông này rất nhiều, nó giống như là mấy cụ ở quê VN hái được mấy quả ở vườn ăn không hết mang đi bán được đồng nào hay đồng đó vậy), mình cũng mua ủng hộ 1 ít cho cụ về chứ 8h tối mà vẫn lọ mọ thấy khổ quá. Nhưng đáng tiếc là về không ăn được vì hồng chát quá.
