It's so cool to see the reception big-lady, jeweler, Marissa has gotten. Some people can't get past her wacky hair, but... SF is kind of a series with wacky hair. She definitely has the most satisfying hits of the characters so far, especially that parry grab, IMO.
its because her design is something you would have seen better animated in Alpha or 3 or something you would have gotten over in 4 because pretty much ALL of the females use a male polygonal model thats touched up a bit. but in the RE engine she just look ugly as hell because of the "more realistic" shading and modeling. it just looks weird-er given the proportions.

Visually I think she looks real dumb, built like gief with a sports bra but gameplay looks great. Same with manon, weird shaped face and body but interesting gameplay for a grapper(?).
Talking about Deejay "Forces Stand, and wiffs on crouch." My sides, my feels. Good work as always. Love to see Deejay with new stuff, he might be a fantastic zoner.
Jun was actually never confirmed dead. Jin just assumed she was killed by Ogre. But then again, do fighting game characters ever really die?

RE engine is one of the juggernauts of gaming engines out there right now. Capcom really flexing it's muscles. Looks great, runs great and is extremely versatile with the games.
Marisa attacks have such a visceral feel to them from the trailer and Manon looks so cool. JP looks so wild.
I am feeling the strive effect again where everyone looks so fun to play
But instead of cutting down every characters moveset, they all get new shit added onto of their old moveset

@@notimeforcreativenamesjust3034 You know how in TF2, weapons are designed to be sidegrades instead of X weapon but better or worse? (as in not upgrades or downgrades, simply a different playstyle) I can't be the only one who doesn't mind Strive's changes by viewing it through that lense. People are trying to say it's like what SFV did, but it's really not.

The "Mishima" feud is kind of over. Kazuya killed his dad, so he's the only Mishima. Technically Jin is a Mishima, but he goes by his mother's name Kazama. And basically all Jin has to do is kill his Dad and then either not have kids, or if he has kids, don't treat them horribly and try to throw them off a cliff. If Jin loses then it looks like Kazuya is basically free to take over the planet since no one can really stop him (except Paul?)

Bruhhh anytime there’s a close tekken match and they have a “staredown” waiting for the other to whiff; even from watching a VOD, you can hear the crowd going nuts and getting hype! You can’t aim to take that away for more offense. They can’t be serious?!

They should make it so Dee Jay has a power boost too if Kimberly uses her level 3 super on him. Also, can't wait to play Manon. I like that kinda character who's not all grab but still kinda is like Abel was.

It would be exciting if the mechanic worked like TOP and you had a variable area you could place it at. I hope there is a counter defensive aspect to the offensive mechanics. Think having a variety of strong but specific defensive mechanics make all the best fighting games, and have considerable offense to offset

This Heat sounded like a RISC-like bonus for engaging at first, but if your impression from the trailer sounds right it reminds me more of the Spark mechanic from Rushdown Revolt- Keep engaging successfully and you keep getting it back to add resources to your approach.
Rushdown revolt might be the most overlooked fighting game of all time. It’s so dope. Unfortunately I think some of the aesthetic choices hurt it.

You can actually see Manon's legs flexing whenever she jumps up to do the spinning kick. You can also see Marisa's arm flex and veins bulge when charging that punch.

When I see two high level players wavedashing at each other but not pressing an attack gets me so hype!
I think heat system will be cool if it makes easier to launch your offense rather than just make offense stronger across the board. Like if you can identify your turn this help you capitalize on that rather than it creating the opening itself. I always found Tekken to be the most fun to watch because of how important defense is so a change like this might make it more fun for me to play but less fun to watch
It definitely won’t be more fun to play if you can just force your turn like that. And if it’s a straight up RPS situation? Nah I might skip T8 altogether

I think a lot of people dislike Tekken's pacing because after a certain level, the risk/reward is so heavily in the defense's favor that it limits the viability of the 80% of the move list.
I think they wanna open it up so that more playstyle archetypes are tournament viable. Instead of jab, df1, ss, df1, kbd 2x, homing move, low. Rinse. Repeat.

When I saw Marisa in the leaks I thought “wow she looks lame.” Now after seeing her gameplay that’s the character I’ll probably main 😂 Either her, akuma, Ken, or deejay. Manon actually looks interesting too.
Also Sajam has a perfect pause at 5:16. You DEFINITELY can see bison in that special move in that frozen frame. His back is toward Ken
Yes, you can see Bison, it’s that missed V-trigger command grab animation (stand Bison)! JP controls Bison’s power?! Also there is a link between JP and Devil May Cry V, there’s a character called V (Vee) who uses a cane and so I’m calling it now but DMC 5 character skins confirmed! Manon is Lady!!!! Help me out people… I can’t guess all of these.

Is there any information on whether Deejay is a charge character or not? In Omega Street Fighter 4 they made him a motion character and he was SO much better to play!! This is coming from someone who primarily mains charge characters like May and Blanka, I love charge inputs, but they never fit Deejay as a character. Him being a charge character just makes him Diet Guile and it SUCKS!
The reason he feels like diet Guile is because they didn't give him more than 2-3 moves.
DNF Duel is where the defensive mechanics are very weak.
Excited to see the new SF characters in action. All 3 are interesting in completely different ways. Looking at the leaks I wasn't sure if JP was gonna be that interesting but he's a buff old dude who casually smacks you with a cane as he summons his Bison Stand.
I don't play Tekken really so I can't comment too much. Hope any new mechanics introduced can be integrated well into what fans want, not that everyone can be pleased. That said, we still don't know the online right? So at best I can be cautiously optimistic for it.

I think it's mostly b/c some youtuber put out a video called "Heat - A Problem???" within a few hours of Harada giving 2-3 sentences to IGN, and now Majin's tweeting about having Strive PTSD - and we know basically NOTHING about the new game. I guess I wish some people would chill out and wait for more info, but it is what it is.
tl;dr - not trying to gatekeep discussion but the immediate negative framing is tiring, shrug

It's been a while since I've been this excited for newcomers in a fighting game. From the concept art alone I thought they were all cool except for Manon, but she's actually the one I'm most excited to try now

The problem is, the neutral is Tekken's UNIQUE STRONG POINT. If it devaluates to the s*it neutral of strive, the game will lose all identity. We need to make movement and defence BETTER, not vice versa.
Also, real martial arts and current Tekken are SUPER FUN and deep to watch. Especially if the fighters are testing the others' distance and movement, it's super hype, though yes, requires some knowledge to appreciate. You *cannot* make a fightie less deep and more accessible and not simultaneously kill off the deep deep level of appreciation. Also, the similarity to actual martial arts is what made Tekken great. Hopefully it will make it great in the future too.
Man if you want me to play these games, you're gonna have to do something about these prices!

You’re right it’s a lose lose. I’m excited for T8 and whatever it brings. The community is trash tho they were just bitching that Tekkens been making the same game for 1000 years and now that they try and change things up it’s all “WTF man this isn’t the Tekken I’m used to” bunch a dummies.
That didn’t mean: adopt the worst aspects of the current fighting game industry ie. stripping away complexity, pandering to casuals who’ll drop the game after 3 weeks, adding more RPS.
The core of Tekken should stay intact ie. complex, 3D focused, the chess of fighting games.
This is why I left Tekken community, most people act like superiors for playing a 3d game, yet they can't adapt playing other types of FG.
Is there really a major change? It looks to me that people will be still remaking tekken 8's gameplay to Tekken 6

Virtua Fighter is great, it just doesn’t have the features of a modern game yet. So if VF6 ever gets made maybe I’ll move on from Tekken.

0:38 This is one of the things I'm actually most excited about-before this, it seemed like your custuom characters would just copy the full moveset of an existing character, Soulcalibur-style, but this implies that you can mix and match moves, which is awesome!! I was hoping this would be the case but I didn't think it would be!

Never trust Aris on anything regarding opinions on Tekken or fighting games in general, _except_ for his shitton of knowledge, which is definitely respectable. As far as fighting games are concerned, he's just a grumpy, cynical jaded shit, especially since most fighting games are going online, which he notoriously hates. He knows his stuff, but fighting games have passed him by. He just hasn't realized it yet.
Marisa doesn't look like she's JUST a strong brutish fighter, she's actually brutal and has technique to her. She's a fucking tower of strength who knows WHERE to put it, and that's rad.
It's kinda weird how they almost tried to frame a stand-off of powerful opponents as NOT fucking incredibly cool, knowing that they could destroy each others mistakes and the respect they display is hype as hell. Boxing matches where both people know how dangerous each other are become even better.

Yeah, I can somewhat understand the hype but for me, I don’t really like her default outfit. I know she’s from Italy and loves gladiators or what not, but it just seems a bit much to me lol

Will play Tekken 8 for it has better body type 2/female characters. SF6's type 2 chars are horrible like balding Chun,Kimberly,Mariza. And Eternity is the most terrible. Hope to Stop playing this freak for the future of gaming. Tek 8 is the better choice.
