    Imagine browsing RUclips for examples of exactly this (24-105 L for night street photography) and coming across a video filmed in your nearby city. Very cool. Subbed.

    Cool video. Interesting to see you bring out the 24-105 for low light. I think you proved it works great for all situations!

      Thanks, Jeff. Chris asked if I wanted the 16-35 f2.8, but I rarely shoot that wide so the 24-105 was a better fit. I was quite impressed with how the RP did even at 6400 iso. Thanks for watching, mate 🖖😁

    RUclips has been recommending me this video like crazy over the past few days. It's always on my Home screen, so I thought I'd give it a watch! I'm glad I did. 😃 Some lovely coloured lights and that handheld long exposure of the bus was cool! There's something about walking around a city at night. It's epic!

      That was a really fun night. For me at least🤣
      I was quite impressed by the Canon RP. Most of the images were shot with high ISO as I was using an f4 lens and it handled the noise really well. Thanks for watching mate 🖖

    I'd watched the first version of this video before you edited it and I burst out laughing when the self timer started bleeping - been there, done that!!! Awesome shots, love some of the bus light trail shots - I've only ever done that sort of stuff using a tripod, either you're really steady or the image stabilisation is pretty good on some of these new cameras!!!!!

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  2 года назад +1

      Haha, yeah that was a great start 😂
      I'm fairly steady, but I think the IS on that lens was spot on and did most of the heavy lifting. It was a great night and I'm already looking at a stabilized lens for the Sony. Thanks for watching, mate 🖖😁

    this is the content i was searching for. THANK YOU. youtube search bar: "canon eos rp low light photography" and all it shows are trash videos taking the subject only oriented to recording with that camera. no still shots. Since when do people want to know more about the recording aspect rather than the PHOTOS capacity itself smh. I am sorry I am anger dumping on your comment section I'm just really thankful you uploaded this.

    I am a little bit confused. When you talk about stabilization, are you talking about the camera or the lens? (I can't find if the rp comes with IBIS).

    Which camera wud you suggest for street photography and portraits?

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  2 года назад

      At this point I really don't think it matters. Most cameras from the last decade are decent. For street just look for something discreet and for portraits you generally should be looking at the glass available for the respective system. You'll get beautiful portraits with a 5d classic and an 85, but that probably wouldn't be my first choice for street🖖

    Recommendations on a camera with great low light capabilities, enhanced enough for almost no light situations? Also, must have great zoom and be able to record video. Any suggestions? Price range of $4-6 thousand.

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  2 года назад

      I'm a Sony user and use the A7s as my main video/low light camera and even with the apsc bodies you can get usable results with a fast lens. It's no secret that Sony are regarded as one of the best in low light. I'd just look at their range and see what best suits your needs and budget. With that said, the lens I was using on the Canon RP in this one was an f4 and even at 6400 I was getting usable images. Thanks for watching 🖖

    How did you find the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM
    Shooting at night because the F/stop caps at 4

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  Год назад +1

      It wasn’t the RF lens it’s the EF version with the constant f4. Not ideal for night shooting hand held as the iso was creeping up to 6400 at times, but for those shots where I was able to use slower shutter speeds, the IS was a big help. With my own cameras I always shoot around 1.8 at night, usually with prime lenses

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  Год назад +2

      They're surprisingly similar but the Eos R has the edge in many areas. I've not used the R but on paper it has a few useful additions. Slightly higher resolution, faster max shutter speed and quite a few improvements in video. In short, if you can get the R for a similar price to the RP, I'd go for the R.🖖

      Both the Sony A6000 and Canon RP are good for night shooting if you use a fast lens like a f1.8.
