      Of course we judge by appearances. I am surprised that you would be so naive as not to realise this, especially in the case of a performance, appearance is of the greatest importance. Why else do you think the advertising agencies go to such length and expense to create the right impression? Have you not heard the assertion that one human being forms an impression of another within the first 30 seconds?
      Having said that, the *music* produced in this presentation is absolutely beyond reproach, but I am entitled to my opinion as to the visual appearance of the conductor, even though I may be in the minority.

    It has a beat! That piece is great fun to play, i would guess. Really appreciate your work as well as Lully’s. It may be a march, but it creates visions of measured dance. I want to try this on the heretical device, electric guitar.

    The more I learn about Maestro Sardelli, the more he reminds me of Salvador Dali - can't you imagine the Marques de Pubol wielding that grand baton at his musicians at his Catalonian 'castell'? Also, Wikipedia mentions Sardelli's comical drawings and writings..."Daliesco dell' Toscano"?

      Lullys problem was not the stick hitting his leg, he was just too stupid to refuse amputation of the gangrenous leg because "he wanted to be able to dance"

    wow! One of the few consorts I have heard playing this march as... well, as a march. Niiiiiiice. By the way, no mischief intended, but considering how Lully died it is quite daring to use the staff to conduct one of his pieces ;-)

      IF IT WAS ME CONDUCTING I WOULD WEAR STEEL CAPPED WORK BOOTS

    • @annabarham155
      @annabarham155 6 лет назад +3

      Yes but if the conductor did the same thing as Lully, he’d have access to modern medicine and first aid to save his foot, which was unavailable to Lully back then. He died because his wound became infected, leading to gangrene and sepsis. The fact that bacteria cause disease was unheard of back then, so infection control was hit and miss, which meant doctors who tried to treat Lully probably wouldn’t have had the best hygiene as they would’ve gone from patient to patient without washing hands or sterilising any equipment. If Lully has his foot amputated, chances are that he would’ve gone the same way anyway, not to mention the lack of antiseptics.

      Yes. But have you noticed Sardelli glancing down to make sure to keep thr conducting staff AWAY from his foot. Lully has reincarnated as Sardelli and learned from his mistake last time
