As someone who listens to a lot of metal, this sounds very metal to me. And not only just the music, but also the attitude. The singer is very much into it, she really puts all her heart, and you can also see all other musicians moving their heads with the 'beat'. The harpsichord guy also seems very much feeling the 'beat'. Oh, and this last note, this hits hard in the guts. This is really a great thing to be able to witness this kind of recordings. Thank you
@@lweberl24 Glad to hear you are interested. Metal music is a very very broad genre and contains many many subgenre, some of them being rather 'easy-listening', some other being... Well, not easy-listening at all :) As a very soft introduction, I can definitely recommend the band Nightwish, which has a huge orchestral aspect to the sound (most of the time the studio albums are recorded with a real orchestra) Here is a good example ruclips.net/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/видео.html (I took the live version because I believe this singer did a better job for the end of the song) Withing Temptation is really a classic in symphonic metal, e.g. this song ruclips.net/video/reGlno9aUpw/видео.html Also, Epica ruclips.net/video/eNGzltK_tlc/видео.html These bands are among the most famous and 'classics' for this particular genre, which is rather close to classical music, in my view. This performance is done with the least voice & head & body tension, when compared to other great singer's performances available on YT (e.g. Bartoli). Respect. It is also more enjoyable to watch, when the only tension within the band (singler included) comes from enjoyment of the music performed, not from a struggle for perfection (even if achieved).

Gorgeous ! bringing together the best young performers of baroque music of the moment!! For information, the ensemble of Thomas Dunford (the lutenist) is called Jupiter probably in homage to a very virtuoso piece by Forqueray senior, which "moves" a little in the same vein, especially when Jupiter triggers the lightning of his anger with great blows of triple quavers for the viola da gamba.
What I really like is their leisure clothing. It lets us see the person playing the music, his or her personal engagement in the music. And not just the anonymous musical functionary who is a servant of a conductor, as is usual in the penguin-suited, uniformed-up orchestra.
Since a long time ago I constantly listen to this version and is the first time I really pay attention to the video and I just realized Rondeau is on harpsichord. Great musicians all of them!
