Lil' Jimmy Reed plays 'Big Boss Man' exclusively in session for The Blues Kitchen.
Still playing and touring the World, Li’l Jimmy Reed is the last of the original Louisiana bluesmen.
At 80, Leon Atkins, better known as Lil’ Jimmy Reed, is the real deal, as will be attested to by anyone who has been privileged to hear his stinging guitar work, gritty vocals and haunting harmonica. A tall charismatic figure, Lil’ Jimmy epitomises the classic Louisiana down-home blues tradition. Born in the late nineteen-thirties in a shot-gun shack in Hardwood, LA, a small cotton and sawmill town on the Mississippi River, Leon grew up near a club where every night he absorbed the wail of the blues from across the street. At six he had his own guitar, made from a cigar box, and by the time he was a teenager he was proficient on both guitar and harmonica, playing local clubs around Baton Rouge. Filling-in one night for blues star Jimmy Reed earned him the sobriquet Lil’ Jimmy Reed and started him on the long path to success.

❤ Hey Daddy,I love that song. Jue
I saw Jimmy at West Point Mississippi about 3 years ago
i performed with him! it was so fun when he came to my high school
Jimmy still got it.great video before his passing amazing
My favorite Lil Jimmy Reed song. My Dad used to play it all night on a Friday in the 70s . Good tune :)
Espetacular, emocionante!!!
the old man on keys’ smiling at Jimmy at 1:12 is so wholesome. you can tell they’re in their golden years
The "old man" on keys is one of rhe giants of British blues, Bob Hall. He played w John Lee Hooker, Little Walter and a long list of legendary bluesmen. And you're just an internet dipshit.
Grande Jimmy... Blues on !!!
One of my favorites."you just tall, that's all"
Lovin the classic blues mix with guitar vocals and harmonica
Old friend of mine learned this song from Jimmy long time ago
a savvy music exec would recognize this will be wildly popular today.
Keep on calling Jim
Lenda!!!

@@blackprince4074 You sure? This guy isn't the real Jimmy Reed.
Me Too!!
Then you never knew the blues inside and out.
Well you still have Elmore James Jr. He's still around but their are only a couple old school blues people left.
Ya where?,
@@tylercountrychordscambas2182 elmore jr hes in chicago and muddy waters son is still around. Buddy guy is hanging in there. Not really first generation delta blues but pretty close to it.
I believe no white person should be on stage trying to sing the blues they too good at giving us the Blues

your ignorance is Bliss !
Your kind is all about a free ride
Music is about listening. And I for sure can't hear no colors. Keep your bullshit to yourself please.
LIAR THEIF he is not JIMMY REED
read his Bio, he's not Jimmy Reed, he got the nickname 'Little Jimmy Reed' years ago due to deputising for the original Jimmy Reed. No where does he say he is THE Jimmy Reed. I would love to have seen the blues legend that was Jimmy Reed though !
